Title: Game #28438, Reported by Komo
Post by: Maciej on May 26, 2010, 10:56 AM
hehe Komo has lost his skill from the past, but he is still dangerous ^^

IMO finish = touching the word "finish" or the wall next to "finish", but if you played this way it's np :P

Well everyone starts on the line that the word "Start" is on, so why can't you finish on the line that the word "Finish" is on?

This is the way I have always seen it done.

If the rules state that you must touch the word "Finish", then you should also start on the word "Start".

Do the rules even say you must touch the word "Finish"?

Well, mostly players play the way which I said.

pls take a look for az map 38, just take a look, and say me, what's the finish there then?

anyway rules should be spoken before first turn, if you both agree for this result it's ok ;) you could easy touch finish word, and Menson has not finished anyway ;)

Actually 99% of players i've ever played in TTRR, bearing in mind I have been playing this game for much much longer than you, have played the way I have.

My theory makes perfect sense.

That seriously does not make any sense to me at all the "maciej" way.

Considering no one starts on the word "Start" they place on the line where "Start" is, it should be the same for "Finish" surely???

Anyway, it doesn't really matter, as long as the players are fine with it, if you check all my RR's so far in TuS, everyone just finished on the line, not the word.

Seriously, you don't touch "Start" so why touch "Finish"???

And if this is the case, 1 of my rr's, I would have actually won, or at least drew if you must touch finish.

What Maciej says is how it is practiced today indeed, so no need to offend him here Komo. I must admit though, what Komodo says sounds damn logical and does make perfectly sence. There`s never been any problems though, players discuss and decides what counts and what does not count before the game starts normally.

Lol this is insane seriously, every RR I have ever played, and this is with people like Mablak/Ryan/LordHound etc, the aim is to touch the line with the word "Finish" on it...

So I seriously want to know who you guys have been playing lol.

I am not offending Maciej, I think he knows this, he raises a valid point which obviously needs to be discussed seriously.

This seriously needs to be resolved and put into fine writing.

Ridiculous that you start not on the word "Start" but you are saying you must finish on the word "Finish"...

ehh, some maps have long finish line... is it finished then if u just touch the line which is 400 pixels long?

starting from not the word "start" is habit and its just "cooler" imo

yeah NC, that's what I had written (az 38)
Komo, you are wrong with Mablak, I will try to find replay to proof it for you ;)

EDIT: here you are, it's just on start of the game ;)

I don't need to look at it because I know what I have experienced in RR's

Every TTRR I have played everyone finishes on the line, not the word, that is ALL I am saying.

I am not being involved in this stupid discussion anymore, if anyone cares so much, mention it before the game starts because in the rules it doesn't say "Touch the WORD Finish".

I just think that this is depending on the map, and you should just talk about what "finishing" means in every map you play (or even better: before you play ;) ).
Because of this, there is no sense to have a rule for the scheme TTRR, because there are a lot of different variations of a finish in a TTRR.

Actually I will get involved, this makes sense Random, I have touched the word Finish in maps where the Finish is like above or something, but maps like this one, more or less everyone just lands on the line, even better fall off roof so their turn ends sooner giving them a faster time.
