Title: difficult life situation, please pay attention here
Post by: Lancelot on January 23, 2024, 06:01 PM
Guys, I welcome you and want to ask the community for help. :(
I've been playing here for quite a long time, albeit with breaks for other matters or other life issues. And that's why I want to ask for help.
My only relative in the family (father) is now in the hospital after a stroke. He will have to go through a long and difficult path to recovery, starting from expensive drugs and ending with long rehabilitation after illness.
Since I am now unemployed, it is very difficult for me to provide my father with everything he needs. My housemates turned out to be closer than my brothers and sisters combined, and they try to help me, but the main burden of responsibility lies with me. I am constantly with my father in the hospital, and after this I will be at home with him for a long time until he fully recovers.
Besides, I wanted to return partially to the game, but now this is impossible, because IRL will always be more important than games.
Therefore, I would like to ask the local players, if possible, to help a little financially, so that my load becomes at least a little lighter than it is now. Because if something goes wrong, it will affect my sanity, and perhaps not only that. I can't just lose my only family member.
I won't bother with card numbers, I'll just indicate my PayPal here. I would be eternally grateful for any help.
Thank you for your attention. I will visit tus forum from sometime. See you soon guyz.
p.s - I hope I haven't violated any rules for creating a topic on the forum. if this happens, please move the topic to the correct section, thank you

I would like to thank a certain Paul Harvey, who was recently able to help financially in difficult times. Thanks to this, I was able to purchase some medications that are required for treatment.
God bless you and your loved ones. There is only one health, take care of it above all else.
Peace.

Guys, this is a question for everyone. Perhaps some of you have come across this, or does someone know a website, a charitable foundation, or a person who could financially help a person undergo an operation? I will be grateful for your answers
After the stroke, my father's vision began to deteriorate, he can hardly see, and I will not be able to provide this for him financially, unfortunately, due to the chaos with mobilization that is happening in our country (Ukraine).
so I would appreciate any information, thank you

there are many such in USA, but they typically only help our citizens because 401c3's are usually not able to operate abroad in their dealings. Sorry to hear about your father. Sometimes the doctors or hospitals will operate on a sliding scale to help with treatments. Again, don't know if this is a reality in Ukraine.

It is unlikely that we have such an opportunity. At least I don't know anything about it

why is your flag set to Russia then lol
Is there any possibility that you can immigrate?

Because I am a Russian person, and a Ukrainian according to my passport
No, the borders are closed to men from 18-60 years old. Or there is an opportunity to leave for a lot of money... for one and a half ten thousand dollars, for example.
I don't know what this has to do with the topic of discussion

If you are talking about leaving the country, I will repeat again that this is impossible. As for other things - why not?
Looking for a solution within the country when you know what it will lead to is a dubious path. Especially when you risk publishing or somehow appearing in the public, risking getting to the front, because our laws are written only for those who benefit from them.
For example, take social assistance funds within the country. Almost everywhere you need to describe the situation in detail and post contact information, family photo, place of residence and registration address, which is no longer safe, for me, first of all. In this case, it is safer for me to collect documents and send them than to talk about myself. I even have my mobile phone turned off, and the SIM card is under the monitor. The country doesn't care if I have health problems - I'll be taken to the front, and my father won't survive this moment, because I'm all he has left, and vice versa.
Therefore, I have withdrawn from society as much as possible, I try not to leave my home unless necessary, and I am doing everything that is possible at the moment to survive for the two of us, and to do the best possible for my parent.
I have to try all the available options.

lol blaming the country you live in is sooooo adorable. blah blah it's so wrong here, and so much wrong there... the country doesn't care for its citizens, common people are trapped by laws and don't feel safe anymore. cool story, ngl.
here are some thoughts from a guy who lost his father 2 years ago because of russians in Mariupol, Ukraine. my father had 2 strokes by February 2022 and was on his long way to recovery. but then b00m! russians came! hurray! they destroyed 90% of the 500K city so my father didn't stand a chance to buy any kind of medication and died in a cellar of my own house due to heart rupture! weeeeeehaaaaa! neither money, nor people could help, heh. thanks to our big russian brothers, I am now long time freed from my father, whom I loved.
so yeah Lancy, if you are "russian person" better hide and keep your head down in Ukraine. you obviously won't go to the army cos army is for retarded people like me who want to protect their motherland and family. as long as Ukraine isn't your motherland, cos you identify yourself as a russian with Ukrainian passport, this country doesn't give a damn about you. and it's mutual, cos you simply don't give a damn back. and haven't since the very beginning, it seems. and pls don't say you've donated thousands to help Ukraine to fight for its safety and independence. cos those thousands should've better be spent to help your father.
so what do we have? you need some help and support. you didn't do a thing for the country where you live and which you wait to support you wholeheartedly. you blame this country and ask other people for help. hmmm, okay. as long as I'm serving my country and taking some benefits from it, I could afford helping not only my mother and my gf with money, but also you. would you accept my assistance, the ultimate knight?
or you can look for some other available options that aren't as easy as getting money from me.
ohhh btw, getting out of borders is easy! you just need to head east to the territories occupied by russia. nobody stops you from getting there at the checkpoints. but be careful, you might be sent to the front by russians to make Kharkiv a russian city too :)

Please don't flood here, I'm not interested in your political opinion. I explained my position, why I am looking for help, and you can shove your politics up your ass. You are just a zombie who is afraid to see the truth.
If you continue to follow your line and share your political views, I will have to ask MI to take action regarding you.

It seemed to me that we have democracy in the country, isn't that what they talk about in your media?
That everyone has the right to their opinion, to their choice.
Whatever it is, everything is exactly the opposite. There is a policy that is dictated to Kyiv from the West, and which they are trying to impose on the population using various methods. And whoever does not agree is a state traitor.
Somehow it doesn't work out very democratically. I would say "dictatorically"

However politics and religion are not allowed to be discussed on this website because it ALWAYS ends in fighting arguments.

Maybe I am unaware and not updated: but there are no rules against discussing politics and religion here on TUS. BUT what I am aware of is that MonkeyIsland made a topic a while ago where he expressed that he will not accept any ''racism'' here on TUS. Ever since that statement, topics here on TUS that became political got locked. This thread may as well be no exception too.
Though Imo would like to add that ''No racism'' is a bit vague. I think MonkeyIsland should make it clear because sooner or later threads like these will pop up again.

Then we need to add it to the rules, as MI has informed me to monitor these things, which is why I delete things from old shoutbox about politics and religion.

Yeah, we need to start behaving here publically, even Team17 are probably aware how bad things can get.
Though on the other hand, the vast majority of us are good hearted people who just love the game, so I'm sure they see that too.

I have to turn to the community again
After a stroke, my father began to have serious problems with his vision. He has cataracts, and over time, his vision is getting worse. At the moment, he can barely see where he is going, what he is eating, and where to sit, his vision is very blurry. I am afraid that by the end of the year he will become completely blind. He needs cataract surgery, ideally for both eyes, but at least one eye should be done so that he can see. Laser treatment is not suitable, surgery with lens replacement is necessary. I looked up the cost of such an operation on the Internet in our city - on average, it is 15,000 UAH (about $350) for one eye.
Again, unfortunately, I am the only person who can take care of him at home. I have to ask my neighbors to go with him to the hospital, because there is a good chance that I will be taken to the front. In this case, if my father finds out that I have disappeared, he will not be able to bear this news.
I applied to many funds, some required documents, extracts that would confirm the diagnosis and a bunch of other documents that I do not have. I am afraid that bureaucracy will kill my father morally to the end. I try not to talk about it.
That is why I have to turn to WA community again, asking for financial support for an eye operation. I want to hope that he will not remain in trouble this time.
I have $ 50 that Skunk donated to me, so I will look for it by any means, I do not want to give up. I want him to see the world again, and not to be killed by bad thoughts, in addition to the consequences after a stroke, the standard of living as in poor African countries, etc.
If anyone needs reporting, I am ready to provide it to anyone who wants to help me.
I will be eternally grateful to all those who are not indifferent here. I will be extremely grateful if you pass on my message to your friends or relatives, or colleagues at work, or other WA players who could help me in such a difficult moment
