I am not really into prizes in Portugal. x)
EDIT: in Hungary, you can get used computers (less than 6 months old) for veeeeery little money, and they basically work like brand new.
-
Desktop or portable?
-
Portable as in laptop? He is thinking about getting each part individually. So desktop.
beer, Go find out how much these hardware will be in Portugal:
CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600
RAM: 2 x 2GB (Don't know what brand is popular in Portugal, Maybe go for G.Skill)
Motherboard: Something with 975 chipset (Since the CPU is Intel, If you could find an Intel motherboard, Would be nice. Intel mother board like 975xbx2)
Other parts depends more on your taste.
-
Is the Quad core really needed?
-
Well, it doesn't hurt. :)

CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600 - 160€ more less
RAM: 2 x 2GB = 40/60€
Motherboard: here are mutch intel motherboard, dunno what choice to know how mutch it is.

i wanna buy a new pc,
me 2

Graphic is so depends on your taste and what you wanna achieve with it.
You can go for ATI 512 models. (I really don't know much about them)
But if you can, Find a good 'silent' graphic card. silent graphic cards has no fans and saves you a lot of pc noises.
If there a re a lot of intel motherboards, Go for: Intel 975XBX2
You also need a good power supply.
Can you find Thermaltake there? I need the exact parts of your pc to know how much power you need. But I guess a thermaltake 600W will do your job. (Max 750W)

what about this?
-
Unless you play first person shooters, you can save like 40 euros on the mouse :)
-
mouse its a gife from my gf :P, im gonna do 22 years old soon.
-
The items looks fine.
Except the CPU. My experience tells me that AMD CPUs are faster than Intel CPUs. But as long as you run one task at a time. When it comes to running multi programs at the same time, You better forget AMD.
If you change the CPU to Intel, Then you will have to change your motherboard accordingly.
I can't tell anything about Gigabyte motherboards since I've only worked with Intel, Asus and MSI.
If you had like 50 more euro to spend, You could get another 500 GB HDD, Then set RAID 0 with your previous one. Our data world seems to be growing so fast, So I don't think you will regret having more disk space.

ky thanks ;)

Let us know what you will end up with ;)

Or maybe people who don't feel they are able to offer competent advice to someone who's buying a new computer simply don't post useless posts. Please show me one useful post out of your 104, will ya?

Ouch.

[Ouch.
It seems like you can't take a joke, Im saying this because tus is full of spammers that keep posting shit and
spamming at the shoutbox.
of course that you, along with Xray, Wooka, Rioter, Green (Where are those two?) are being helpful
to the forum since the very beggining. Even though, the number of spammers and useless users is much bigger.
My reputation is terrible here, but I can be serious when I want to.
-
Applauded.
Anyway, thanks, I try my best, tho sometimes I am a little hot-headed.
