BB was cool before it was mainstream

now it's mainstream so I guess it's cool to pretend it's softcore compared to the street shit one goes through ya know

I've met some people who took it personal when I told them the same. they acted as if I told that I hated them, so.. maybe it doesn't make any sense, but it's experience :)

honestly I have no idea about that, I just simply hated every single character (especially Walter), didn't like the acting, the script, even the picture, the colors seemed ugly to me..

BB totally overrated :)

BB is good and if someone asks me is it worth to watch I'd say yes. But as Lacoste said, totally overrated. I'd rate GOT higher, but again I loved season one, but in season two with giving birth to ghost, faceless man etc etc not really my type. But season one was good enough for me to keep on watching :)

Now obscure says True detective is better than all. Anybody thinks the same?

Id rate GoT above anything as its my thing. True Detective is pretty damn good, yeah, im just not sure if it beats older shows from HBO. Id probably put it into top 5 shows of all time anyway, at least first season, who knows what they are going to do with the next ones.

What is it you didn't like about the script? You're not into drugs? No curiosity on that part of society? It makes sense you start hating everything if you don't like the series topic overall. I'd never watch a show like Californication for instance, because I know it's not my thing, regardless of how good it probably is.

I'm not going to judge your ability to rate actors, but I don't see why you feel comfortable dismissing the general public and those who make a living out of rating these kinds of things.

But you speak as if you watched the whole show, and you use the word hate, it really stops making sense for me right there. What kind of person are you? Why are you doing this to yourself?

American horror story (season1-2) are pretty good the third one maybe not, useless ending. ANd there is Jessica Lange <3 .

Penny dreadful also ;) First season now...

Breaking Bad was pretty good, it became mainstream yes, and maybe it lost some points during half of the last season... but it was awesome.

yea, monk is awesome (especially if you work with people with compulsive behaviour...).
my fav is twin peaks, i guess.
started watching breaking bad, but since every character seems pretty dumbass to me i stopped somewhere in the middle of the 2nd season.
atm im enjoying x-files (one more time).

That show is so bad. Watched it only to see him catch Red john which was a total disaster IMO. Then after catching Red john, the show completely fell apart.

I quite liked the mentalist, though not for any high brow reason :)
BB wasn't for me. The series that most surprised me was scrubs, especially cause I didn't really like hospital series anymore ever since I started working in one.

Has some realistic bits too

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to watching TV shows (I'd be totally unable to tell what GoT is about for example, but really not out of hate, more like because I never take the time to get started or even to read up about it).

Monk did end up hooking me though, because it's really fun to watch; looking forward to watching how it ends (but again too lazy to do it :o). The other TV show I went pretty far into is Dr House, where I'm somewhere in the middle of season 5.

Just realized they moved this discussion here..

I don't think Breaking Bad was about being into drugs or not.. I've simply found the script unrealistically silly (take Jesse for example), while it seemed to me that it meant to be serious. I'm not dismissing the general public or the opinion of some critics (never read any critiques about it), but this is not science, just because everyone else liked it, I'm not obliged to. I only heard good about the show so I gave it a shot and I didn't like it. I'm not going to bring up arguments because I lack the appropriate instruments to express my thoughts but I think I have the right to dislike the show on my behalf.
Yes, I hated the characters (ok, except maybe for Walter jr and the cop (can't remember his name)), but the show was quite exciting, so I kept watching until season 4, but then I really had enough, I just wanted them to catch Walter and end this shit. I don't really like to leave things unfinished tho..

To add something else to the topic:
I liked Firefly, Band of Brothers, Walking Dead and True Detective. And South Park + Family Guy until they got boring.

Ah, nice to see others mentioned True Detective too, I hope the won't screw it up in the following season(s). MI, tell oby to finally join us in #b2b! :)

Don't see how they can top it, seeing as there is no way they will recruit two actors as good as Harrelson and McConaughey.  Show is dead IMO without that star power, it made the show what it was.
