Title: Scheme #3814, Supermarket Shopper(SMS) submitted by crmm1792
Post by: Lupastic on April 03, 2021, 08:41 PM
fun scheme, discovered it today (: I like it a lot.
one thing worths mentioning, why is it called "supermarket shopper"? it's because ur picking up like 5-6 crates per turn..? :D this is totally like a kaos mod shopper/chaos shopper would be a much appropriate name.

another weird thing about it, why do we have one ammo of "mine strike" aerial weapon in a shopper based scheme? oO it's basically just a filler there. other than those, everything's great about it.
you have to be fast and accurate here, while also paying attention to what weapons you're picking up : ]

the name "Supermarket Shopper" was a friend´s idea, exactly that its because u pick up 7 crate max.
mine strike is a non-rule weapon(no cak rule applied it) the idea is basically is make a random damage and full the field, giving funnier moments

It's a good scheme, well balanced, well thought. However the description is in blank, there is no detail about the rules or authorship of the scheme, no ideal number of worms, etc. It is still a RubberWorm Shopper variation like many I've seen before, so nothing very unique, but it is fun to play and it is different from the others I played. I like the Fall Damage values, the fact there is no ldet (with sdet on) and there is only one single zook as starting weapon. Many mines, so players must be careful with that. Good to see people are playing and creating new schemes.

I would ask the author to provide a detailed description of the scheme, despite its obviousness.
Something like “standard shopper rules, number of worms, number of victories and also the peculiarity of this type of shopper.”

Personally, I don’t really like this scheme, I prefer the classic shopper, but this type of shopper differs from other types in the presence of rubber functions, therefore, most likely, this scheme will end up in the next Wheel of Fortune cup

 :)

IIRC, the author initially created it without rules, then he added a big description with detailed rules, but for some reason he erased the rules, maybe he preferred to make it simple with multiple interpretations instead of dictating rules that not everyone agrees or that are complicated. The concept of the scheme is simple, but I understand that it is not easy to stablish rules of a new form of gameplay that you can attack multiple times in a turn.

In my opinion if the idea is to make it simple and open to multiple interpretations and gameplay forms, this should be written to make it clear, but sometimes when there is a big wall of text people don't play because they are lazy to understand all the rules. So, maybe just a short description would be better than simply erasing all the information about the scheme.

The author has proven to be a creative scheme maker, as you can notice (his creations). Not sure if he is the kind of person that credit others so much, though. His other schemes have detailed rules. This one he decided to erase the rules.

let me explain this, for some reason the description got deleted by accident, i did speak with MonkeyIsland to have it back but unfortunately he told me he doesnt have it in the backups, so i got upset and a bit too lazy to write them again.

Supermarket Shopper is my first scheme i made, is a game based on kaos shopper but inspirated by the scheme Colossal Shopper. I liked the idea so i wanted something different related multiple attacks in 1 turn and many crates around but including my own concept (TIME factor): 35s turntime, 6 spawnmed crates (7 for next player as penalty if u dont pick up them all), only AFR weapons and drill tactic to stop the time.

Im agree with FoxHound the description in blank produced some players missunderstanding the point of the scheme and now we got some players in AG hosting random multi attack-crates as supermarket, adding any stuff on it (utilities, weapons, removing the drill), i remember some players telling me how to play my own scheme xd and crying for drill spamming. So i really lost the interest to write the rules.

In spite of this, i would like to add the rules on description one more time instead of descarting the idea that some one would play it was conceived :3

Most of the schemes on TUS, which are not meaningless, have a description, unless, of course, you created the scheme just for yourself.
It is not necessary to describe in detail all the moments of the game; in this case, brief rules and highlighting the features of this type of shopper are sufficient.

If for some reason you don't want to make a description, well...  :(  I'll have to make a copy of this scheme and put it in order myself, adding a description and indicating the necessary information.
Unlike Wormopoly, there isn't much to write home about.

I got a point in my comment, to put the rules for something that evrybody gonna ignore its kinda useless... that was the reason why...
Fortunately, i decided to add the only the rules and probably some extra information relate map and worms amount, probably.

Supermarket Shopper is my first scheme i made, is a game based on kaos shopper but inspirated by the scheme Colossal Shopper.

Oh, I would never imagine Colossal Shopper had some influence to Supermarket Shopper, really. I just checked and I published the scheme on TUS a bit earlier than Supermarket. I thought the idea was based on Kaos Shopper, Triple Shopper or wkShopper, or maybe it was just another attempt to make a Shopper with Shot Doesn't End Turn. Now that you mentioned, Supermarket Shopper really uses Shopper maps that are bigger than usual, specially designed for the scheme. I must say the name Supermarket is great and I like its scheme icon. For a first scheme, your scheme received a big fan base. Your other schemes too. Honestly I would never expect someone with a nickname called CAK-RULES to be a great scheme maker. I always thought Shopper players were limited in creativity, but maybe that was a preconception. By the way, do you prefer to be called CAK-RULES or crmm1792?

Im agree with FoxHound the description in blank produced some players missunderstanding the point of the scheme and now we got some players in AG hosting random multi attack-crates as supermarket, adding any stuff on it (utilities, weapons, removing the drill), i remember some players telling me how to play my own scheme xd and crying for drill spamming. So i really lost the interest to write the rules.

I think we cannot control how players play the schemes we create. Run created Hysteria without Low Gravity and now most people play it with Low Gravity. Shopper used to be played with drill and no zook, and now people play with zook and almost don't use drill or remove it.

And by the way, Colossal Shopper still doesn't have a replay and the rules are open for changes (it has already many optional rules), exactly because it's hard to determine what is the best for gameplay with SDET mode and easy understanding of the rules. It would require a lot of tests to stablish what is best, and maybe players would play differently.

In spite of this, i would like to add the rules on description one more time instead of descarting the idea that some one would play it was conceived :3

I would play the original rules the way they were conceived :)

I think in the future Supermarket Shopper will have all the variations of rules and settings being used by players written somewhere. I remember the original ones had Mine Strike that could be used differently, and that there was something called SMACK-RULES, which was a funny acronym.

you can call me CAK-RULES, Im actually glad people is appreciating my schemes you know hosting them at AG or maybe using some for cups etc.

Im a shopper player but unfortunately i got bored bit by bit. So the first time when i played colossal shopper i got interested again. So i decided to make my own version of multi attacks with SDET and probably less kaotic adaptation xd.

Its true we cannot control that, but in my opinion there is a line between variant and change and that bothers me. You just mentioned that shopper used to be played with drill and no bazooka, but i think a scheme get ruinned when its essence is being modified so much.

I notice you added the rules again, along with an example short game video. Nice.

I agree with you. If people want to modify no matter if it is a variant or a change (variation), people must clarify that it is not the original scheme. They should use another name. If it is a variant, is a different scheme. If it is a variation, I think the variation should mention the original, with an aditional name. For example: "Hypermarket Shopper". "Ground Weapons Supermarket Shopper", something like this, or at least state/mention on the description or game chat that it is a modification from the original or inspired by the original. Using the same name of the original scheme and change the rules, settings, gameplay can make people associate it wrongly.

nice gameplay video on youtube, saw it now in the description : )

https://www.tus-wa.com/schemes/scheme-1888/

^ if I'm not mistaken, the scheme above is the first and original version of implementing shopper scheme with kaos features by sensei. everything that comes after is a copy basically :D your scheme here is just encouraging the use of drill + adding earthquake and mine strike (which is a bit odd), me + echiko made a cup and made our version of the scheme and decided to call it "kaos shopper" as well, https://www.tus-wa.com/schemes/scheme-4087/
https://www.tus-wa.com/cups/cup-1128/

the scheme itself is a great idea, it makes shopper fast paced and requires tonnes of skill with roping + using multiple weaps to make the biggest dmg possible in a short time, while simple shopper is more about hiding, watching for worm rotations, planning and strategy. I prefer rapid games. its a nice invention (:

Thank you for watching and thank you for link me n.n. I actually didnt know kaos shopper would be playable with 35 s that was a success. There are many seetings i cant check cause it supposes you install a module to play and there is nothing in the description about.

Correct, my version is encouraging the use of drill, basically this tool saves your time because you probably would be focus on collecting crates and drop everything what u got on inventory. However is not the only thing you can do to save time, since drilling is not obligated to play u can be creative to find other way to manage your time: the order of how to play your weapons instead  of dropping everything u got without method or why would u waste your 35 turn time picking first aid if you have 10 retrat sec to do that for example?.

Speaking of earthquake this weapon will depends on your game, sometimes to kill a worm that is next to the water to the other side of the map would become tedious if u plan to go there just to plop him with a simple hit (speacially bigger maps). As an alternative would be to play earthquake to control my current poisition trying to kill other worms.
