A poll to see what people think today about the change from 3 worms to 5 worms in singles TTRR (3 years ago). How many worms is optimal for TTRR, 3, 4 or 5? Also, should singles and clanner have the same number of worms per player like they had before?
Both singles and clanner TTRR were played with 3 worms per player until 2013. Since the experimental season we've had 5 worms per player in singles but still 3 worms per player in clanner. Now there's a difference because in singles you need to make 1 time with 5 worms while in clanner you need to make 1 time with 3 worms. At least some people would like to make singles and clanner more similar again (if not equal).
Said on the subject:
- more worms makes variance between turns less of a factor (eliminates "luck")
- more worms rewards the fastest, not the safest player
- with more worms you can take more risks
- less worms causes pressure -> rewards the player who can perform under pressure
- less worms gives turn order advantage to the player who goes second (when the 1st player plops his worms)
- clanner with 5 worms takes too long
- singles with 3 worms is very fast
Select your favorite from the 5 options. You can select 2 options to ensure that at least your 2nd favorite wins the poll (you can also add/remove your 2nd vote later based on the poll situation).

what about 2 ttrr instead of only 1? with 3 worms, that gives excitement and adrenalina...
-
1vs1: 4 worms, 2vs2: 4 worms

I like 4. Even numbers are better for people with OCD too

what about 3v3? :V

what about 3v3? :V
3vs3 will be still played with 3 worms per player for practical reasons regardless of the poll result. Placing 24 worms would already take quite long. 3vs3 games are quite rare anyway.

Keep it as it is.
I like the roper idea only.

1vs1: im in love with the original 3worms way of playing. it have that old cool tactic with safe 1st turn, then if it works - fast 2nd, and risky 3rd. the newbiesh way with 5worms is like "try to finish 1 out of 5 and maybe it'll work out" which kills the sense of safe turns with medium players
2vs2: the poll proposes only lower amount of worms for 2v2 comparing to 1v1 which i find quite strange
just think mathematically: as many players play the game at a time, the higher the chance someone fail. think of a 100vs100, it actually have to be ~100 worms per player to balance it off just as 2v2 have to be 4worms per player (and 3v3 5w/player when 1v1 have 3w/p)

I think that 8 worms is the way to go, because there are more chances.

I don't play league games, but If I had it my way it would be 2 worms per team. First turn can be balls to the wall speed, second turn can be more safety-oriented. I love playing TTRR but in terms of competing, more worms = more chances for someone to have one really good run, even if they plop all of their other worms. I don't like the idea of rewarding recklessness, but then again I am Mr. Safety Rope and prioritize not losing my turn above speed, always. I feel happier finishing all 5 of my worms and not getting the fastest time than only finishing 1-2 worms and winning. :)
