This is my lag:
really can't figure out what it is. I've tried everything, every single test u can do.
Can't play worms anymore until my pc lag is fixed, it lags even if i surf the web... it's all f@#!ed up god damnit.
PORCODIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
That is almost exactly what my lag looks like and I have been trying to fix it for the past year and a half... I say almost because my freezes aren't as long as yours.. no solution has worked.. my internet doesn't lag like yours does. if you find a solution let me know
-
The problem is that i've never had this huge lag.
Well, some time ago i think i had a VERY little lag like this, it caused me playing like shit, ask avirex i kept blaming my pc for my fails and i honestly can't tell for sure if it was me or these lags. After i uninstalled px and rubberworm the situation was better tho.
Now it's incredible huge, i'm afraid i'm having some hardware problems, probably the hard disk or the mobo. Today i will format everything and if this doesn't help ill just bring my pc to assistance.
-
Ive had screenlags for the past couple of months now - mainly in rope and bungee games. My lags are might caused by px which i installed just about a week before the lag started. I tried deleting px, but the game still lags (not sure if i had deleted it all right tho). I made a copy of worms folder before installing px, but the lags are the same. Maybe i have hardware problems too, but for now ive only noticed problems with worms.

Formating the harddisk and downloading less porn should help you out
-
installing the 3.7.0.0 update should help you out
-
If that's true, it will be great to have shy, and o back!
-
there's a new update out?
edit: installed. will try eventually, didn't bring my external kb from college with me on break :X

Didn't fix the lags.
-
it seems i'm having problems with my hard disk.
shyguy try "hdtune", run the benchmark then take a look in the "health" section. if the health satatus is "warning" you probably have my same problem: need to change hard disk.
-
shy has a brand new laptop...
the only thing he needs to change is the laptop...
i told him what to do, but too puto.
-
Didn't fix the lags.
what renderer do you use from Advanced Settings?
your post is not informative.
-
yeah shy, you f@#!in dink, in the options (advanced options i believe) screen before you sign onto wnet, there are things you can change, and mess around with that can help improve your gameplay, i would bet in your case you need to tweak your directx stuff...
wtf did you think, you just update this patch and your ready to go? you lazy f@#!!! start putting in effort to come back!! i dont even think you want it!! I need you to want it!! i need you back to w:a!! i need to drive you f@#!ing bat shit crazy in a game of elite like the old days!! come on baby!!
-
Yeah, the new renderer are awesome, made my already smooth w:a even more smooth. Feels perfect now to rope.
-
I don't see these render options and hdtune things.. I went to the advanced options after clicking the bottom left square in the opening menu, correct? I'm a computer noob.. where do I look?
-
hdtune is just a software you can download to check your hard disk health. nothing related to worms.
by the way: i've bougth a SSD disk (made myself a christmas gift) and now everything is so f@#!ing smooth i can play 3 games in the same time without having lags.
ill be back soon, i just need to install wa.

Try some of the others for the renderer, like Direct3D 9 (shader)
-
tried every drop down option, the lags remain for them all

I have warning as well. what should I do?
-
I guess your HD was damaged when it was delivered to you/shop/manufactor, it happens quite often and you should try to get a refund/replacement. It's a new one right? Damaged HD sectors is #1 problem in the shop I used to visit. :)
-
I have warning as well. what should I do?
- Open the "Computer" window
- Right-click on the drive in question, select Properties
- Select the "Tools" tab
- Click "Check now..." under Error-checking
- Check both options.
*You may ask you to restart. **edit, forgot some steps; fixed.
Also, if you an Intel processor, have you tried disabling Intel SpeedStep and/or C-States in the bios? If someone already suggested this then nvm, I couldn't find Shy's old thread.
-
chkdsk C: /R /F to fix bad clusters
or there's software such as hdd regenerator
-
Perhaps running WA (CD image and installation) on a RAM disk could remove the lags up as well?
Just a suggestion, please correct me if I'm wrong... but I used to have much success in speeding up some programs by running them on a RAM disk. Never tried it on WA though
-
shy, do like me, buy a SSD and it is all good, it is really a nice stuff, makes ur computer much faster, everything runs faster.
and dont come to say u dont have money for that, u f@#!ing american slave.
-
I think his Laptop is a new one so he should get a replacement/refund, warranty of like 2 years I guess?
-
it's a year and a half old.
I did the disk cleanup.
I don't know what an SSD is.. i dont wanna go out and buy one.. i'm scared!

no way, im already getting a terabyte external for christmas.. can I do anything with an external?
-
You can try and install W:A on the external, could maybe fix it if your W:A installment on the internal is in the bad sectors.
Btw, would be cool to play with you sometime again, I am back *gasp*!
-
hopefully, because it's unclear how it would work while the other HDD is getting fails.
it's always that when a HDD meets a bad cluster, it gets stuck in it until it goes out. Which means the HDD cannot perform multiple operations anymore while it's dealing with a bad sector. Which means system hang-ups at worst. Which can affect W:A even on an external HDD

Barman actually fixed my lags after a long and frustrating journey. I'm using some kind of virtual harddrive with worms on it.. problem is, worms gets deleted every time I turn off my computer and I need to install it on the virtual HD every time. I may just try installing worms on the external terabyte I got for christmas?
