have to tell this before I take all the credit for it ;)

When I wanted to design TUS, I had designed some other site and I was out of ideas.
So darkmaul asked BigBilly about the design. BigBilly made his design and send that to me. Which was this :

Unfortunately (Or fortunately ;)) his design didn't work in IE6 and had some problems for my codes. So I decided to code his design by that image.

I started with the clouds, when I was putting them in the sky, I thought what if those clouds swing! after making them swing I thought about moving them to right and left ...
and then all other things you see now came to my mind.

I know this design is somehow completely different from BigBilly's. But I gotta say If I had never seen his design, I would never come up with this.

Post by: Rioter on October 25, 2008, 02:41 PM: One thing is the header, it is a bit BIG! OK first im relieved the cheap option wasn't taken and used flash, but the header is like on a 1440x900 res screen taking up half the top page. Could you perhaps shrink it.

WELL:
the background texture change if u click 'Home' or 'Guides' or 'Schemes'.
that isnt serious imo and looks ugly.

i know that u can change the texture and fix it to 1 texture but it should be normal in official version of TuS.

Monkey, is it possible to make non-transparent background for avatars? It kinda messes up few.
I know that I can turn off transparency completely, so maybe I'm just whining. :P

Unfortunately different browsers behave different in this kind of transparency (Opacity)

I searched a lot for this thing for images. But couldn't find anything that suits for TUS. So that I came up with transparency removing solution myself.

I can make the avatar lose opacity but in IE. (Taking advantage of one of IEs non-standard behaviours :D)

I just hope you could add "lite" (or smth like that) optional layout, so people could actually find something (+removing water, clouds etc.). Or if it's impossible, then at least add option "remove transparency", because as far as I see, it's only possible to turn off transparency in 1 area at the time (the one where mouse pointer is).

Click "Edit Profile" on the left. Then click on "Forum Profile Information" and scroll down to "Site Look Options"...

I can add water layers options, like you could choose between 1, 3 or 5 layers. But I can't remove water at all, Because site won't have any footer.

But about the clouds, by setting it to 2, there will be no moving clouds up there, just 2 clouds that won't move.

I have promised BigBilly to put his design as an option too, that has no clouds or water or transparency. Maybe that won't give you a headache. But it just would take some time.

Oh yea and I will add removing transparency at all too. :)

Been there, done that way before I posted here. Seemed kinda obvious for me, sadly not for you.
