We've finally waited for the CWT finale. Just a few facts: This year's tournament was the worst in the entire long-term history of CWT. It took us a very long time to recruit 32 participants, and we wouldn't have done so if I hadn't advertised, including here, and personally wrote to each player in Diskord to remind them of the tournament. And still, we recruited 32 players, of which 5 were fake! Also, some players did not play their games, or part of their games. Kilobyte also made mistakes with scoring several times, pushed players into the wrong groups and made various technical mistakes. But the worst mistake was the incredible delay in this tournament. 6 months for the tournament! Which could last only 2 months. Of course, many players did not want to be tied to the tournament for so long, and this is understandable, because they have a family, a job, and household chores... And some players, including me, asked Kilobyte to set deadlines so that the tournament would go faster, but Kilobyte didn't listen to anyone until the very end!
Even after the semi-finals, he didn't set a deadline and we had to wait 40 days for the finals! 40 days for 1 game! After this tournament, some players had no desire to play this game at all. Congratulations to Mablak on his gold. Congratulations to Afina (Rayz) for the silver medal. She lost only 1 game during her entire participation at CWT, and this is a very good result. I also liked the game of Dzeka, who won all the games in his group and lost only 2 rounds out of 11, but then was banned.
Unfortunately, over the past few years, I have seen that this game is becoming less and less popular in general, and the Normal mode in particular. There are fewer and fewer people online every year. Now people play Kaos more often, and unfortunately, many players are no longer interested in the Normal strategic scheme. Just look at the CWT games, people used to show interest in these games, now we see that even under semi-final and final professional games there are very few or no likes and comments. It's also very difficult to find streamers, and many games even in the playoffs were without streams. Thanks to Korujo for agreeing to stream some games!
