Title: Portable version
Post by: Ray on February 28, 2011, 10:21 AM
Does anyone know about a portable Worms: Armageddon version? I wanted to install it today at school, but unfortunately, that requires admin rights.

So I figured, if I had a portable on my pendrive, I could play at school on boring lessons! Hurray! :D So any help would be highly appreciated.

Not possible to get a legal, working portable version of w:a Ray. As MettyPlax says, versions that don't require the CD will always be ripped off some content, some files won't be copied from the CD and will be loaded from CD when you start W:A. You won't be able to update those too.

Isn't making a safety copy legal? If that safety copy is in the form of a virtual CD/DVD, then the problem's solved, isn't it?

He still wouldn't be able to install it without admin rights though.

Links are removed. Please do not post any cracked/illegal versions of W:A. Thank you.

Then all I can think about is having a seperate OS installed on a pendrive.

dsa had an interesting idea: installing the game on a pendrive and copying the .iso file on it too. There is Virtual drive installed on those computers, so I can mount the image there and perhaps run the .exe, though I wonder how stable that would be, in case it even runs that way.

Worth a try though. :)

I can made full functional WA portable version, but the net games still not be allowed, so... It's bad. I can crack 3.6.31 too but. For what? I debug the exe file and it's still need to have cd in room, you can mount it on a virtual but on school it's not pssible.  You must have administration proviligies... There is protable ultra iso, but you can only open it, no mount without install... Summary... Impossible. But anyway I can do portable for offline play..

It's illegal to "crack" games.

Seriously, don't mock or insult this game by "cracking" it, people who hack this game are an insult and they all need to f@#! off, it only costs a couple bucks ffs...

I am proud to own this game legitimately !
