Title: Real Time Rope Race!

Thanks to the amazing work by nizikawa it is now possible to rope race in real time.

Currently to my knowledge it works only with Rope Race.

You can't find the download link? Click the green text to your right that says ''Latest''. A new page will load and click on wkrealtime zip file.

To my own experience it crashes often on start, I managed to play 4 games in 2 hours. I don't recommend currently (to my knowledge) more than 5 people since it might crash. When it worked for everyone it was very fun and I highly recommend it. Others reported latency and stuttering issues though, but distance between players matters though.

But remember this was possible because of nizikawa :)

I never realised I am so slow in big rope race until I tried this module. :P but crashed many times with me :(

I moved out home and i thought “why should i bring my kb with me, i won’t need it anyway” now i’m regretting it…

This is the most fun i've ever had in a while, this module is a real game changer. Thank you for your work nizikawa!

Yeah, it's a totally new experience  :o I'm definitely gonna do some rope sparring with danie in free time.

I hope these revolutionary changes to the gameplay will bring back Worm Olympics 2022 :'(

The module is now compatible with wkBigLobby; disabled turn pause after worm gets damaged; disabled weapon panel lock

What a legend this nizikawa is!

I've also figured out another way to have realtime rope racing, with as many people as you want.

So how it works, I have this PC and a laptop, both have WA and both can host/join each others games.

I send the display from laptop to PC via a capture card, then stream 2 games live.

1 player will join each game, now here's the possible drawback, you cannot see what your opponent is doing because they are in a different game. Both players get into the same position with phased worms, they need to have VOIP, they don't need a mic, just able to hear the starting signal, once they hear it, they immediately skip go and start playing. That way their clocks will start at roughly the same time.

You need to use a specific scheme where pause timer is off, and also phase worms, and infinite time.

You could have 16 people all racing at the same time on the same screen had I enough computers and processing power.

This works for ANY racing scheme, i've done a demonstration with 2 computers:



I plan on hosting a Cup with this soon if anyone is interested.

@Komo:  That's pretty clever, but about 10 years too late lol.  I doubt anyone wants to go to all that trouble now that we have an actual working realtime mod.

The mod has issues the way I done does not.

You're right though, though i'd say 23 years too late.  :D
