i think it's fair to say that given what happened with WWPR (https://store.steampowered.com/app/270910/Worms_World_Party_Remastered/), we as the TUS community have very low expectations of that said "remaster" and we'd rather patiently wait for what Deadcode/CyberShadow (the actual maintainers) have actually cooked up, but I'm ready to be convinced otherwise

We already have WA remastered for PC. Why do we need a watered down version on a console?

If you really want WA on a portable device you could always get a Steam dock or similar.

Steam Deck, FTFY

the one time I tried WA on Steam Deck, there was a lot of tearing, not sure why. otherwise, I wasn't offended by the controls once I got used to them. the only thing I haven't managed to do correctly is to select weapons using the F keys. then my brother (who owned the Steam Deck) sold it so uuh booooooo

thankfully steam controller configuration is advanced enough to do things that WA would pretty much require. the only gripe that doesn't involve setting up controls and getting used to them is speed. Even Intermediate with 45s turn time was a bit of a struggle, so I had to play 90s Intermediate with CPU1 lmao

hi guys im new but been lurking since a long time xD, I love this forum cuz theres lot of content and love for the game here :-*. Ive been curious about how will this port was going to be so I bought the switch ver out of pure curiosity and love for worms, and I want more info about the game to be out in the internet so here are my thoughts:
1: team 17 handled the scheme and map editor HORRIBLY >:( , let me explain: I was making some rope race and mole maps to play online with my favorite classic schemes but surprise, u cant play custom maps online (WTF??) what is the point of custom maps in the first place if u can't even play them xD.

2: overall the gameplay, sound effects and UI/menus are alright, I just don't understand things like why in the switch version there are less graves and flags than in the 1999 version, this is insane to me cuz like we are on 2024, cmon team17 u can do better than that LOL
also
- NO RUBBERWORM or any wormkit modules
- no in-game chat
- absolutely no way to edit control configuration

I wanted to believe in team17 after the WWP Remastered trash but they still managed to dissapoint me, I can't believe a supposedly "anniversary edition" is so barebones in content

hi again guys :D , just to let yall know more how the switch version works, I made some classic WA schemes on my nintendo switch 8) . I feel like this game needs more options for making schemes, like the "shot doesnn't end turn" and "Continuous crate shower" from rubberworm :'( , but overall its still an interesting port. Here I uploaded some videos if anyone wants to see how the game runs :P
, if anyone has any question or wants to play this port with me feel free to let me know

Hey, thanks for sharing this information.

Is there any online matchmaking at all?

Thanks for sharing.

It looks like as always that Team17 doesn't try to strive for excellence with their Worms tittles.

This port is just Inferior to the current PC version of WA. I am sure this port would get some attention by people who forgot about the PC version they once knew of. Of course it would be a nice little throwback for those customers but they would miss on a lot of what the PC version has to offer..

np and I agree :). To me it seems like Team17 is just ignorant about their game and it kinda sucks :(, I just hope people that buy this game try and play the PC version cuz its still a amazing game 8), also they can get it much cheaper (or even for free LOL) than this "anniversary edition" :P
