The idea is to share some of your games which you played on the very date of today back in time. The years range from when replays were recorded (2004), and til last year. It doesn't matter if it's from 2005 or 2012. I hope this can create an interesting, active and on-going thread where people share some cool replays of both their great and horrible games. It also opens up the opportunity to compare players with their performance from different years. How did Barman BnG in 2007 compared to 2013? Some dates will contain playoff-finals, tournaments, challenges and what not in respective leagues, while other dates will have regular league games and funners.
At today's date, the 4th of June, I played a total amount of 13 games in 2004. I haven't recorded any replays from other years at this date. This day nine years ago had the event of a regular 30sec RR tournament hosted in #RH by Dextah.

I started to play in 2008 but I found only replays of games played in 2009:
Here a BnG game against Komo who pwned me hard. It was one of my second tus game of BnG because when I started to play WA I knew only Hysteria and Normal. (I noticed it was played in 2011 but i think that there is an error with date, probably because I did a backup)

Casso, I think those dates are correct. Komo wasn't cFc in 2009, nor using the nick "Komito". Can't say anything about the other 2 replays, but looks like they're not 06. 04., just saying.. :)

Around this time i was playing with Perfect bobbydanoob(wooka) joey kewlkat st0ney seantheawesome fopeboy sacraficiallamb biohazard sirsfnords smole scribe raze anger volrin stormy projectpat artharas antisocial... So many more and i left out people that still play.. And are relevant.. This was around 2005.. If anyone knows how to get ahold of st0ney or project pat pls let me know.

whoa LightningHunter... that was impressive roping, i cant help but to wonder if he was using xspeed or something... that was around the time xspeed was popular, and being you were newer statik, u would have had no clue....
i have no idea who that guy is, from either w:a, or w2.... LightningThunder kind of reminds me of tenchi roping.... (the real tenchi) but i dont even think tenchi was that good.... i did not watch the entire replay, but that guys roping seems like the best i have ever seen, i cant help but think it was hax

no, there weren't any lags, also LordHound knows him and he said they played that map over 9000 times :D also I don't think this roping is impossible, this map is simple, but I'd like to watch him roping on harder ones^^

Hmm, Statik, how long does that replay with this lightning guy last? I've watched 17:30 minutes so far and seen nothing ridiculously special yet, he keeps falling, his turns never last long, he occasionally does some nice moves, the best thing he does is when he does 2/3 pumps in a row, but most great ropers could do this stuff back then, least the people I warmed with, imo he doesn't even come close to how good we were at our best... His scroll is all over the place, so are his kicks, in fact the best turn I seen so far was his 1st turn, or the 2nd one, can't remember now lol... He's good but not THAT good, so far...
Honestly, myself, marco, saltyk9, oijogja, jmoberg, volrin, Shady, TheSheriff, TheFudo, Mablak, Anubis, and more i'm too tired to remember, when we were at our best would have ran circles round this guy in the form he shows so far at least... Perhaps this guy is even one of these guys I mentioned aliasing having lost their touch lol?
Should I keep watching or is this as good as it gets?
Gonna watch Casso's stuff now, nice thread Crazy, I don't have my 2004 and early 2005 stuff it's on a hard drive that's broke atm, I got a new PC in 2005 and replays start again from about August... 2006 on the day you mentioned I was in TEA and have some games against sCa, i'll check 2007/08/09/10 later i'm too tired to check through replays now lol... But I have to stay awake for at least another 4-5 hours...

oh rofl, now I got it. I didn't I read carefully. I upload only some replays because in 5 June I played a total of 120 games (2010 - 2011 - 2012) rofl 40 games per days but 80% of them are offline

Year 2010. In that period Worms Mania Community organized an Hysteria Cup and I had to play against Miky a Bo3 match.

Sadly in 05.06 I was playing missions offline apparently. The closest online game to this date was from 2007, the scheme was a weird bng hybrid that I made, with homings and petrols and 3 worms each, looks fun actually. :D

The only awesome move I made was in a T17 clanner against chicken and ckc. It is somewhere in a worms movie.

i have some more from 2005, not too much, tho, and 2005 is the oldest i have. was on wwp 2004. cool to read all those old names on the replays, heh. for example: Real and conz from CKC, some Marley, The Pit, Barman in GC, Wisley from VW, got even a replay with Spalding, from 2006. and so on bla bla

Here's for the particulary interested a folder of games and maps that RopeR/Morgoth has had stored on a harddisk. The maps are mostly RR from well known players, but some of the maps are modified as far back as in 2002, so there might be a hidden treasure or two, I don't know.. AirGuitar's colourmaps should be popular for the male, straight wormer ;P

GC also meaning Games Convention. Worms was on air 2004 (Gigaliga) and Medal from CF won the first prize. It was €2000 and it was, as I know, the highest cash prize ever by winning with worms.
There is a vid somewhere saved with the final game. It was against Gonzo and his missing sheep turn he prolly never forget. It was the turn which makes Medal to the champion.
Unfortunally it was the last year which worms involved (lost the votings against starcraft). After that a lot of german Eliters quitted worms. By the way, 2004 Random00 was a bloody newbie. :D

I think WA was also in a fight with Unreal Tournament for a Grand Slam tournament later that year.. Guess they won that battle

Speaking of Gonzo and Medal and the rest of those mean German Elite players, I've recently had a few of my nicer replays from around the time of WEL recovered for me (Thanks again, you know who!) and apparently almost exactly six years prior to Crazy opening this thread (Yeah I'm cheating a bit, sue me!), I took part in a tournament where some of them also made it to the later stages. I'm not exactly sure and I can't remember who the tourney host was anymore (Showtime maybe?), but judging by the spectators, these two replays seem like they might be of the semis and the final, against killgore (BLizZarD's brother) and Gonzo respectively.
The first game had some nice plays, but also technical f@#!ups and the odd misplay on either side, so things got all tense and nervous toward the end, as they tended to in Elite! Overall a pretty nice game to watch, I think, as it was to play, especially because of how game-changing that teleport turned out to be.
In the second one against Gonzo, teleport again played an important defensive/offensive role, something you don't get to see too much of on the ridiculous Fort maps a lot of players choose to host Elite on these days. But of particular interest in this replay have to be the mind games of him pulling a surprise HHG on me, then getting forced on the defensive, the game seemingly starting to revolve around my super sheep, then surprise again and game over. Fun!

New age elite having two big changes compare to the good old time. More aggressive (rope turns like franz ones getting popular) and more technical BnG (notches are pretty common these days).
Its hard to compare but I think today Elite is better and Gonzo2005 wouldnt have any chance against Random2013. Medal was one of the rare players with a big aggressive factor. He wasnt the hiding type, he was always ready to face up! So nakra, but not that aggressive as Medal.
And there was Tradacee, Spalding, Bolf, Turan etc., some interestng types as well. WhiteRabbit, Eagletwo and so on were leading the big midfield behind the top shots. I remember that league system. If you want to play a game, just click at the challenge button via homepage and few seconds after you got your opponent. Supporting worms did make an huge community. Too bad those times are gone. :(
JohnMcClane should have tons of those replays. Not WorldParty ones, there we had to put screenshots when reporting. Armageddon was a fkn nice step with auto saving replays. Nobody cares about wwp after that back 2004?

I'd substitute sh4rk in there for Turan, I'm not good at elite at all and I never had a problem beating Turan. If we are talking about elite-playing germans. I never did understand why germans are inexplicably drawn to playing elite though. Your country own the scheme.

because of ESL or whatever it was called back then...
and yeah Turan wasn't really that special in Elite, he had the old school style* (mph, dope...) that worked before everyone and their mother had Elite fundamentals.
*basically an "all-in" style, early ropes, early dynos, control the map early -> get the crates. Easily countered once people started to darkside and learn to toss nades.

i've roped once with LightningHunter years ago and he wasn't that good, pretty random.
@SPW: ye, Medal could be the most aggressive Elite player i've seen, true. i remember losing 2v2 elite final vs him and JMC (JohnMcLane), i played with Huren. Medal walked off an edge and had like only few milliseconds to select zook and shoot at me, that was f@#!ing frustrating, hehe. was good times with all those german eliters back then ;/

there were tons of replays with everyone from nbr, mre included uploaded onto senecasuite.com. if/when seneca logs back on this site, maybe he has the sum of those uploads. i uploaded a lot of marco/seb, wargod, mre, salty, retro oldsock, ect. who knows if they still exist though.

Yeah from w2 but I played a couple warmers with him on w:a also. Just curious if he ever ventured back and if his roping was as amazing as I remember.
