Worms History - From Rankings to the birth of TUS
Crazy:
I think it's important that we preserve the different achievements and data of worms throughout the years. I don't trust the backup-sites to last forever, therefor I decided to gather information from a total time period of a decade. I've focused on the personal achievement by players and clans (Hall of Fame), staff and Awards (some are still missing here). There's been more leagues then those presented here, but these are the one that lasted longest and which have been possible for me to retrieve data from. I'm sure there's lots of data that can be added here with the help from others, please PM me and I can add it to the post.

There are currently a total of 81489 players registered on WormNET, 64435 of which are in the amatuer league, 16112 are Pro players and 942 have reached Elite status. Dated 1999/2000.

About: WACL was created on October in the year 1999. Shut down at the end of 2001. From October 1st, 1999 to August 22, 2001: 1,798,595 HITS on the site.

I won FB Singles season 5, runner-up was Flow/franz. My only real singles achievement up to this day. :D
Also, sCa won cl2k clans 2 or 3 times in a row, but I don't remember what seasons those were.. Pretty late for sure, like half a year before it died.

I did, but IBB soon took over website design/coding. I was limited to keeping track of the standings, handling complaints and fighting with ropa on the forums :D
cos noob at code.
btw crazy, as much as it is brave and desirable, it's gonna be a disappointing experience too. I remember a lot of things, but it's all mixed up and I wouldn't be able to put a time-tag on it. It's unfortunately an illusion that we can get an anywhere near-complete overview of worms history.
Only thing we have is a few fragments of sites and countless stories without any real facts or figures.
