Title: Triad's PC Builds ($300 - $2000)
Post by: Triad on September 12, 2016, 10:10 AM
Hello TUS

I sometimes help people at reddit for building PCs. I help them to pick right components for their needs. So I thought maybe I can come up with some build presets from different price ranges so people can pick one for their next step to PC gaming.

P.S: Prices might change as the time passes, click on PcPartPicker list of each level to see latest lowest prices for USA.

Level 1 (~$250)
Cheap PC build without a dedicated graphics card. You should be able to play all old games and most not so new games at lowered settings.

Level 2 (~$420)
1080p entry level gaming, CS:GO, LoL, DOTA2 should run great. I added a cheap 120GB SSD so you can install your OS here. I also added a dedicated GPU.

Level 3 (~$580)
The console killer. You can run almost all latest games at 1080p medium/high settings with 60fps. Much better CPU than Level 2. Bigger but still cheap SSD. If you'll have space issues, you can always buy and install a HDD.

Level 4 (~$750)
1080p high-ultra settings. This is where gap between consoles and PC becomes much bigger. Quad core CPU, higher quality PSU, much better GFX. You can get a freesync monitor if you go with the RX 480. And freesync monitors are much cheaper than Nvidia's G-sync monitors.  This is probably best bang for buck build currently.

Level 5 (~$1150)
1080p/1440p Ultra settings, VR Ready. i5-6500 replaced with i5-6600k. And since 6600k is an overclockable, I added an aftermarket cooler since stock cooler might not keep up with overclocking. Motherboard is replaced with a higher quality one. I also put 2x8gb RAM. Previous good bang for buck SSD is replaced with quality M2 SSD. Also put a better case. GTX 1070 won't let you down.

I bet they arent this Prescott 3,8 GHz dual core abominations who can eclipse the Sun itself by temperature while working so they does not have a right to be called Pentiums, its very different architecture.

Also, lets add LVL 0.5: Intel Compute Stick, its around 100$ and can run all old games and some not-so-recent titles like LoL, DotA2, ... (CSGO only if you love 25fps).

Level 9 (~$8700)
You're rich and want a no budget overkill PC that you probably gonna end up playing only WA on it? This is the everything included overkill build you're looking for.

I would rather claim Minecraft for that :P

Nice list tho!

Level 3 (~$470 - $540)
The console killer. You can run almost all latest games at 1080p medium-high settings with 40-60fps. If you will focus on gaming you can exclude HDD. If you wanna go cheaper but you want bigger space, you can exclude HDD SSD . But I suggest to not exclude SSD if you want a good gaming experience. Also I put better CPU and case than Level 2.

Yeah, Minecraft might actually require high specs if you max everything and load high contents.

That PSU seems pricey for a 80+ Bronze. You can find 80+ Gold at similar price in AU:

I actually had all my prices set to pc case gear but it changed once I posted it here. The problem with using different shops is the shipping prices bring the price up too much for me that why I just stick with one shop.

Also what are the differences between the power supplys like bronze, modular, semi modular and all that stuff. Ive never understood what it means, I just know I have to have enough wattage.

Also what are the differences between the power supplys like bronze, modular, semi modular and all that stuff. Ive never understood what it means, I just know I have to have enough wattage.
All those labels tell you is their efficiency levels at 20%, 50%, and 100% load.
A bronze rated PSU will waste around 18% when at 100% load.
Meaning if you have a 600Watt bronze rated PSU running at 100% load, about 108 watts will turn to heat.

If you have a 1200W PSU running at 50%, a bronze PSU will waste 15%.
50% of 1200 = 600. + 15% = 90. That means the PSU will draw in 600W, and an additional 90W that'll turn into heat.

Fully Modular Power Supplies (or PSU's) Have NO cables plugged in permanently. They come with the required cables in the box, which means if there are any cables that you don't need, you don't have to have the wire taking up extra space and looking clumsy in your system.

Non-Modular PSU's have ALL of the cables permanently attached to the PSU. None can be added or removed, for all-intensive purposes. There is no real disadvantage other than the issue of having cables that are not in use.

Semi-Modular PSU's are just how they sound, some of the cables are fixed, some cables can be plugged in or out. The cables that are fixed are usually the obvious ones:
ATX (Motherboard) Connector
EPS (CPU) Connector
Occasionally a PCI-E, (For Graphics cards mostly) either a 6-Pin or a 6+2 Pin.

I actually had all my prices set to pc case gear but it changed once I posted it here. The problem with using different shops is the shipping prices bring the price up too much for me that why I just stick with one shop.

you dont need more than 32 for editing

unless youre running some sort of server with hundreds of simultaneous connections doing big movements of data server side youre just showing off and wasting money on the process

128GB seems pretty ok if u going to run a database or something, or even build a cluster of hyper-v ?

Ye i think u need to really explain better with what u work cos 128GB of ram is really a lot, but sure this can be nothing if u say why you need all this amount, like if u are running the database of  all google systems seems pretty ok  :D

@Triad.

Do you think a RAID 0 with 4 SSD discs of 256GB will really run much faster than a RAID 0 with 2 SSD  of 512GB?

To be honest i would never use raid 0 at all. Because if one SSD breaks, all the data is broken. Not sure about speed advantage, i guess it depends on the total bandwidth of the controller.

I know if one disc break all data is lost, but iam just asking about the performance, for the case one disc break, we would use backup.

I would say it's not worth it just for gaming, it's not worth it just for most common computer stuff. But if you run VM's, or edit large files and need to load and save them faster, or do something that requires you to stream a lot of data from the disc, it is worth it. For example, if you're into making music, you better believe it's worth it for working with mega-huge sample libraries. There are virtual pianos with so many round robins, velocity layers, and mic positions that loading them into RAM just becomes kind of silly. 2 striped SSD's is actually the recommended configuration by East West for using their instruments. But even for instruments that you don't stream from the disk, load times are still important if you're trying to audition different instruments for playing the same recorded loop of notes.

For normal use and gaming use though, you just won't notice a difference. Huge difference between HDD and SSD, much less a difference going up to RAID 0. Also boot time might be slower.

This configuration is a bit over 600$.

I've read many times that those two components really doesn't matter. 500 mb/64 bit card can be better than both of our choices :)

But if you have a good explanation why bits matter, I would like to hear it out!?

You can also get a better but second hand gpu for same price. Since new GFX generation came out, people started selling their old hardwares. You can even get used i5.Haswell cpu for same price of that i3. Used parts are good for budget builds.

I always heard that the bits are like the bandwitch of graphic card, like cars 2.0L 16v and 6.0L 32V the more litres give more potency to the car.

I might be wrong but on www.google.com you can make some research too, bye ae.

Aee Triad, I have a request from my buddies over at Worms Guild... yes, it's a PC xD

- budget is 500 euro
- has to perform somewhat equal or better than MSI GS70 2PC STEALTH (https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GS70-2PC-Stealth#hero-overview)
- needs to have a keyboard and a 1080p monitor included, we already have a mouse

500€ is a tight budget for monitor included so had to a little over. But still it's much cheaper than that laptop.

1050$ USA Newegg USA Bang for buck build. I was trying different builds and come up with this. Currently it's a great performance per buck. And all from a single shop!

Edit: Squeezed a GTX 1070 by changing CPU to i5-6500 from i5-6600k, removing custom CPU cooler and lowering SSD size from 750GB to 525GB. Now it's truly bang for buck.

Everyone should have a SSD this day in age, unable to understand why a build wouldnt include it from a standpoint of cost to performance ratio, not worth it to upgrade processor and neglect to get a SSD.

I agree. There are SSD for every kind of budget. For example look at this little fella:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/34Nypg/crucial-mx300-525gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-ct525mx300ssd4

Maybe doesn't have as quality as its Samsung or Intel counterparts but it's cheap, 525gb and really small with no cables to worry about.

Speaking of small components I realized I never shared a ITX build so here you go:

Taxes for technological components sucks really hard... We have taxes here too in Turkey since almost all technological components imported abroad. Flying to Greece or Germany, buy and build a high-end PC there and return to Turkey is cheaper than building the PC in Turkey xD

I wish we were in EU so we could have tax breaks from imported products.

Already that 19" is too big everywhere, cuz I have to take away my eyes to some corner to see a stat or sth but then in the center stuff is happening that I need to interact with and I would like to see everything at once

perhaps he live in a van?

lol no, but indeed my family is really poor cuz my house is technically still under construction

Bad PSU with too much W, also if you won't get a SSD, let's get a higher quality HDD like philie did. Also remember for gaming: GPU > CPU

Ok, what about this? That Pentium and RX480 combo is a bit suspicious for me as it might[?] be bottlenecked all the time cuz I work in GIMP and Audacity a lot.
Also, couple things:
- Why different RAM and Case?
- Will Win7 work on this CPU?

It's a 3.5ghz cpu with hyperthreading, basically an i3 for 60$. For gaming it should work without a problem. I thought you asked for a gaming build?

- Why different RAM and Case?
RAM because red theme, case no particular reason.

- Will Win7 work on this CPU?
Of course, what kind of question is that?

That's a worse CPU than the one on my list, and it's not modular. If you're gonna work with that Zalman or any Micro Atx Mini Tower you won't have much space to work with.

Yea, because they only released the high-end ones, who knows what will happen

EDIT1: There's R7 so far, after some time there will be R5, R3 and some Intel chips might go down in price and maybe even GTX11XX graphics cards. Everything is going to happen.

I thought you asked for a gaming build?

Not really. In fact, I don't have the games that they are used as benchmarks nowadays, either.

I changed cooler with a liquid cooler. Because if you're going to get something like i7-7700k, you gotta overclock that thing real good otherwise it's as if you just got i7-7700 non k version. By the way will you really need a i7-7700k? Otherwise I will just put i5-7600k or Ryzen 1600x.

Changed RAM with 4x4 ram instead 2x4. Aesthetically looks better and price difference is minimal. Two dual channel. If you're planning to upgrade it to 32GB or something, you can keep 2x8 tho, but I doubt you'll need 32GB for gaming.

Changed SSD to M2 NVMe Intel because much faster, needs less space and requires no cables.

Your case is pretty good, but check this one out. It is 20 dollar cheaper and it got  T E M P E R E D  glass. Pretty sweet deal imo.

I see you follow a Red color scheme, so I changed case fans with Red led fans. If you need a Static Pressure one, get SP; if you need an Air Fşow one, get AF.

240hz is pretty overkill and useless. It is just marketting bullshit. I put a 180hz one, it also got G-Sync too, and cheaper than you 240 hz one!

Cheers man ill look into it. Got me heart set on that monitor though will be awesome for csgo. The 240hz is only for csgo then back to 144 for everything else. Yea i was thinking water cooling later, maybe custom loop. Didnt see that m.2 ill def change that

Ive been tossing up with that case as i like it as well. Seen some sexy builds with the s340. Ill keep 2x8 just incase i want 32gb later.

Monitors with extreme refresh rates often suffer from flickering and washed out colors. They can sometimes die early because they are refreshing so fast.

And actually 180hz with G-Sync is probably better on FPS games than 240hz without it. Remember that most professional CSGO players uses 144hz.

You can of course go with 240hz but I feel like it's a bad investment.

4 year old haswell processor. Less than 1 tb of storage. Old graphics card. Old ddr3 ram.
Only thing why you should be considering to take this overused rig is the monitor.. But i guess even that you can find new for ~100$.
I would pass the offer, add a bit money, buy new stuff.

Bought pc 2 years ago. Mostly wanted to play worms with it.. But meanwhile started doing lots of other games + streaming so it got a bit "too low end" for my intentions.

Already changed GPU (from rx460-2gb to gtx 1060-3gb)

Next is swapping CPU,MBO and RAM (running 8gb ddr4 2133mhz in single channel over 2 years and didn't even know i'm losing so much performance compared to dual channel..)

Anyway, meaning to sell 3 components for around 200€ :
mbo: msi h110m pro-d
cpu: i5 6402p
ram: kingston 8gb ddr4

And buy 3 new ones:
mbo: asrock ab350m -> around 70$
cpu: ryzen5 1600x -> around 160$ (+40$ more for cpu cooler)
ram: corsair vengeance lpx 2x8gb 2400mhz -> around 130$ from amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017NW5NZY/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE)

+ around 20$ on delivery altogether..

What you think boys? I'm pretty sure that's my new rig. Cpu is clocked on 3.6 ghz in stock so I won't be dealing with any overclocking at start.. (but if i wanna do it later, mbo will support it cause it have letter "B" in it's name)
Only thing I'm worried about is ram.. Don't know how much performance gain I'd get with, for example, 3000mhz ram sticks, but i think 2400 is pretty okayish, even for ryzen.. And 16gb of it should last me next 3-4 years I'd imagine. Won't find much cheaper price than it is now an amazon as well... My gpu is good but not that good to feel the difference in ram speed while gaming!?

Anyway, lemme know what you think.

Why not just slap another 8gb to current ram instead selling it? Also Ryzen stock cooler is pretty great afaik. 3000mhz is better than 2400 obviously but not worth it at all if there is a significant price gap.

Ram i'm having now is 2133mhz, so it's not really the best clock speed out there. And I think my MBO can only handle 2133 modules, so for sure buyer won't mind having 8gb of ram with cpu and mbo, and I'll get better price.
Buying 1 more 8gb stick there's no guarantee it will work with previous one, even if you find same product of same manufacturer. Also price for same 8gb 2133mhz stick is just 1/3 cheaper than 2x8 gb 2400mhz, so really no value in that.

Ryzen X series comes without stock coolers.

Your first post made me think you're more into these things man.. :)

Wondering if anyone knows any good deals, prefer it to be available in UK, or even a UK based website.

Looking for a cheap laptop, Windows XP or Windows 7 with a budget of up to £180.

I am not concerned with a good graphics card or powerful CPU, or a lot of RAM.

My only requirements are:

As big a screen as possible
As loud as possible
Able to connect to internet.

If it can run WA so I can watch games in bed, that's a bonus.

Would appreciate your help as i've spent a while looking online and I know people on gaming forums know good deals on this kinda stuff!

Thanks!

So, after spending about 4 hours comparing laptops and prices and specs I upped my budget by £50 and decided on this.

Lenovo ThinkPad T430 - £229+£3.95 P&P:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz.
Memory: 4GB DDR3 RAM, Hard Drive: 320GB HDD.
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 630
Screen: 14"
Optical Drive: DVD-ReWriter

The main deciding factor in getting this laptop was that it has older features that I absolutely love!

It has a DVD drive, as I have a big DVD collection so being able to watch these lying in bed is awesome.

It has VGA output which is good for using with older monitors which suits me.

It has a DVD ReWriter, unsure about specific make/model, but any is good for me tbh, and it's great to be able to burn music and other things to disc.

I had to sacrifice 15"6 screen size for 14" but with everything else it came with, i'm very happy, seems like great value for money to suit all of my needs!

Well, you're not too picky aren't you!? :)
That's an very old rig. 7 years old cpu, ddr3 ram and only 4gb, integrated gpu.. only 320 gb hdd.

For whatever you're gonna use this machine, you overpaying it! It's probably worth only that 50£ you're "adding" to the deal. Don't get fooled dude.

I'm pretty sure that amazon.co.uk will have something aroun. New and with free shipping for about similar price.

I spent hours comparing laptops, style/design/features and specs through benchmarking websites, I got this from amazon, I didn't like any of the 200-300 laptops for the same price range I looked at.

The only laptops that were more powerful for the same budget, had other problems to me, I like that it's big and chunky and from what I read very robust, and has an optical drive, rather than the computers these days that come without drives.

Also, Lenovo bought IBMs laptop department a number of years ago, when they were IBM thinkpads they had drainage holes incase you spilled stuff, which were tested vigorously and threads on reddit even praising this feature.

It also has big loud af speakers, which is a major selling point as well compared to the crappy speakers other laptops have.

This was a major selling point to me, it's not surprising to see older things sell for a bit more money than newer slightly more powerful things for the same price, they are unique and have their own advantages.

And yes, I did sacrifice a slightly lower screen size, but I did so because everything else that was 15.6" had other things I didn't like, there wasn't a single 15.6" screen laptop that I liked the look of or it's setup.

People pay ridiculous money for old cars that aren't "as good" as modern cars, but they have a certain character and certain features people love about them, and it's the same thing when it comes to computers and technology for me.

I am still looking for a year 2000 era Windows 98 PC in mint condition, and willing to pay a serious amount of cash for one, as all my favourite games are from that era, and most of them don't work on modern hardware/software without serious modding involved, and still doesn't look as good, partly because a lot of those games are designed for different types of monitors so always look better on the hardware/software designed in that era. Take old games consoles for example, the way monitors were designed, to use colours and not pixels, the games always look smoother there than any modern emulation possible, which is why emulated games, or even the legit company released "classic" and "mini" versions of consoles these days still don't look as good as the originals back in the day.

I did my research(which i'm VERY good at) and in doing so, very happy with this purchase :)

Edit - Also, this is a refurbished laptop with new parts, and I checked up on the company that did the work and they have excellent reviews :)

So this is pretty annoying, the company delivering my laptop have delivered it to the wrong address and it was signed for by me, so someone else has basically tried to steal my parcel...

My address is 1/2, they delivered to 1B.

I've been on the phone to the company, so they have to try and receive it now, but interestingly enough their policy when it comes to investigations and deliveries, it's the drivers responsibility, and if the driver can't retrieve the package and deliver to the correct recipient(me) then the driver has the pay the full cost of the package, so at least there is incentive for the driver to track down the parcel and get it delivered to me.

The guy on the phone said once they raise an investigation 3 things happen:

Full declaration I didn't sign for parcel - Done
A full investigation to find out where parcel was left - Done
Then get my signature(and evidence of order) to say i've received the parcel - In progress, they have to go retrieve it and then bring it to me.

The customer service is pretty good actually, once the investigation has been launched the depot has a deadline of 1 hour to get back in touch with me following up with the retrieval.

So, obviously i'll get a refund if they can't get the package back, but still I might have to wait 5-7 working days to get a refund IF they can't retrieve it which still sucks, I ordered express delivery, ends up being late af... :/

Buying a used thinkpad I think is a good idea. They are built to LAST! and there tends to be a lot of them about due to it being a popular choice for businesses.
I've had a T460 for a few years and fully expecting it to carry me into the 20s.

But daaamn your one is old! and maybe a little pricey.
I also don't think it has Intel 630 graphics. (Intel HD 4000 maybe?)

It's been refurbished, and product details said Intel 630 graphics, if that isn't the case i'll definitely be sending it back and getting a refund.

Edit - I actually think you are right man...

This is the product description on the page where I bought it:

But after doing research on this design of laptop, they are saying it comes with 4000, so i've sent an email asking which it is, and if it's 4000 and not 630 then i'll be wanting a refund so I can purchase something else.

I do really want a thinkpad, I was speaking to M3ntal when doing my research and he said the same thing as you SiD, they are built to last and very good laptops!

@SiD

If I get a refund on this, because of the way they've screwed the delivery and the product description, you reckon you could find me a better deal? What would you recommend?

The refund will be £233.95 so that's my budget, but I could perhaps put in an extra £10-£30 if I can get something much better?

I definitely want this old style with VGA Port, DVD-ReWriter etc.

Edit - Wait, wtf, is this sh*t legal??

I can't view my order anymore but I checked out another one exactly the same, the 1st product description says 630, the part under it says 4000:

How the f**k they get away with being misleading like that? If it's the same for mine i'm gonna be raging, I always go by the specs part on the top... Damn... Yeah partly stupid on my behalf but what the actual f**k! I can tolerate my delivery being a few days late but having misleading advertisement is not on man...

You're right Komo, I'm not a biggest tech junkie around, but I know a bad deal when I see one.
Paying that money for this rig is not worth it even if their thinkpads are made of same material ppl use to build rockets.

Under hood is what really matters and you're buying 3rd gen of i5 with 2 cores, only 4gb of slower ddr3 ram and less than 500gb of hdd (not even ssd) in 2019. On top of all - that's not even new, but refurbished product  :D

100-200$ - sure
300$ - nah.
Title: Re: Triad's PC Builds ($300 - $2000)
Post by: TheKaren on January 17, 2019, 11:14 PM
Sensei, if you can find the same product, for a lot less money, I will accept it's a bad deal.

I understand it's a bad deal to you, because you only care about the power of the machine, the cpu, the memory, the graphics.

I already have a good laptop I got 3-4 years ago will last several more years:

Intel i7-6700K 4gz
64gb RAM - DDR4
GTX 980 (Desktop) 8gb
SSD Drive 500gb / and 1TB SATA

The one thing this laptop lacks, is a DVD drive, and I don't want an external one.

I don't want to give up my DVD collection, that's insane, I have so many of my favourite stuff on boxset:

Friends, South Park, Family Guy, Rodney, Star Trek TNG, American Dad, Scrubs to name a few, not to mention hundreds of films, and stand-up comedy dvds.

I am looking for something up to £250 that suits me, I like the look of it, and does the job I want, and the thinkpad does exactly that, it's got weight to it, it's robust, it has nice speakers, a DVD Re-Writer, i've heard better reviews about the durability and reliability about this kind of laptop than anything else within the same price range, and quite frankly, older products just last longer because of materials used, and the biggest geek I know says it's a great laptop as well.

I couldn't find a cheaper deal, or better thinkpad, for my budget, by all means, if you think you can find me a better price for this laptop, please, i'm actually asking you, please find me a better price as i'll be returning this after discovering their advertisement of the graphics was misleading and being f**ked around with the delivery.

If you can help me find a better deal, or a better laptop with the same features, i'd appreciate it!

Edit - The thing i'm really disappointed in, is the top product description, the one that loads when you click "view product details", says "Intel HD Graphics 630" but then the part under it says "Intel HD Graphics 4000".

So i've bought it thinking I was getting 630 when actually could be getting 4000, it's not that big a deal as the only game i'd want to run is WA and it would handle that, but it's the fact they are advertising 2 completely different types of graphics for 1 product...

Sensei, if you can find the same product, for a lot less money, I will accept it's a bad deal.

Same model as yours, also refurbished product, sold by good reputation e-bayer:

1st result on the 1st page of google: https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-LENOVO-THINKPAD-T430-14-LAPTOP-CORE-i5-2-6GHz-4GB-RAM-320GB-HDD-WIN-7-PRO/323632327350?epid=9023572206&hash=item4b59fd6ab6:g:WV0AAOSwyGZZ~bjS

When you first posted specs of this thinkpad yesterday, I was actually checking it a bit to see how it handles nowadays. Found out that ppl buying these (with i5, 4gb ram and hdd) between 100-150$. While same model of thinkpad that goes up to 300$ are the ones equipped with i7, 8/16gb ram and ssd.

This false advertising about gpu chip is their "mistake" but also yours. Cause you knew which cpu you're getting and by that info it was clear you can't have better gpu chip than hd4000. Props to SiD for noticing.

I don't wanna mislead you, or "prove" you wrong.. Don't really care what you do with your money, but since you asked us, my personal opinion is that you should wait for better deal.

2gb RAM, with no HDD? I said the SAME laptop!

But yeah, i've returned the laptop, so will be looking for another deal.

But I am not getting a laptop with 2gb RAM and no HDD...

I'd like to see where you find this info them buying the same thing for $100 - $150 because I don't believe it.

What you posted has 2gb RAM, no HDD, no operating system, no power cable... Cmon man...

I mean the exact same specs as what I posted. (Obviously, with the 4000 instead of 630 now though)

I am seeing a lot of these laptops for $100 - $200, but they have less RAM and less HDD and other things missing, maybe that's why you saw it cheaper?

Try to find the same laptop, with the same specs, OS included, power cable included, HDD included lol, for less than £230.

Oh, also, it's important it's UK based, not from US please.

I've actually found a few people are selling 2nd hand for around £170, but i'd rather have one that's refurbished than purely 2nd hand.

Plus, the same thing I posted originally is being sold on Amazon for £210 now, so that's £20 cheaper already!

Is this legit?:

^^ Found that here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T430s-i5-3520M-Professional/dp/B009UESY2I/ref=sr_1_59?m=A1I7RQYN151HCG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1547816749&sr=1-59

i7 and nvidia graphics seems like a really good deal here for £195! And I have the choice of Windows 7 or Windows 10, but i'm skeptical, as even in the URL it says i5 not i7 so i've emailed them.

Honestly, this is very frustrating/depressing...

Almost every f**king laptop I look at on Amazon has dodgy information because the URL/quick description/product information are showing different information...

I had to send this email to a company there because of their information:

I have questions about several more laptops you have for sale and just wish to double check/confirm the product details as some of them seem a bit suspicious.

I recently ordered a laptop from another company selling on amazon that had the wrong product details so I have to be safe now.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-ThinkPad-L430-24684XU-Notebook/dp/B00BFFBGO8/ref=sr_1_266?m=A1I7RQYN151HCG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1547817810&sr=1-266

^^ Is this product Windows 8 or Windows 7? What graphics chipset does it use?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Thinkpad-L430-14in-128gb/dp/B01BNHF454/ref=sr_1_163?m=A1I7RQYN151HCG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1547817639&sr=1-163

^^ I am led to believe the specs for this one are 8gb RAM, 128gb SSD drive, windows 7 professional, however it doesn't mention anything about the processor model except being simply i5, and doesn't mention what graphics chipset it is using, could you confirm these please?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T430s-i5-3520M-Professional/dp/B009UESY2I/ref=sr_1_59?m=A1I7RQYN151HCG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1547816749&sr=1-59

^^ In the URL ir says i5, but in the product information it says core i7, which is it? Also does this come with nvidia nvs 5200m or intel HD graphics 4000?

Trying to find out correct information so I can make an accurate purchase, thank you

This is ridiculous :/

Link I've posted is gone cause laptop has been sold meanwhile. Even other laptop they've put instead is with 300+ gb hdd and 4gb ram. I don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah and, for reasons, I don't want to import from US.

SiD showed me an ended bid that got an incredible offer.

The main difference between what you are showing me, and what I have been looking at are auctions vs buy it now.

I generally don't like auctions, i've heard too many bad stories about them, I done it once a few years back and got screwed over, and I prefer refurbished products rather than simply 2nd hand which are usually worn out more.

Definitely right that I can get better prices, but without importing from US the price difference isn't much, or the quality seems worse.

I never said it wasn't a UK seller and probably shouldn't have started with "Yeah and, for reasons, I don't want to import from US", as that was extra details because I have to move out this house within 2 weeks and US would take too long to send out. The main point is i'm skeptical about auctions.

I have saw a lot of these between £100 - £200 but they all have problems or missing details, for example the one you posted, it doesn't specify which processor it's using, just says 3rd gen.
others have mismatching details from the URL description, 1st description, main description and technical details, or it has damage/marks and looks dodgy, so I don't trust them, or the seller hasn't contacted back answering questions yet. Maybe i'm too fussy, but I like to see the exact brand/model for each part when I am shopping.

I almost ordered another one that is supposed to be 3230M but instead it was 3320M, checking benchmark sites the 3230M performs better than the 3320M.

I've reported at least 50 different instances of false information on advertisement today, and honestly i'm sick of it...

I ended up just taking a chance on the following taking your advice and fairly similar deal because i'm f**king bored out my mind researching this shit now:

Specs:

Lenovo T530 15.6" Laptop, Intel I5 2.6Ghz processor (3rd Gen), 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 Pro   - £150

Again, i'm fairly disappointed it just says "3rd gen" with no further detail but whatever, it's £80 cheaper than the other one I ordered and has a bigger screen, and it's for watching movies and workout videos anyway, and it will handle WA so I can lie in bed watching games.

You were right that I could find a better deal, but it's just f**king irritating when websites don't display information accurately especially when they are selling stuff, I spent like 8 hours today comparing prices, specs, details, damage, descriptions, seller reviews, and couldn't find 1 single product that was good in every way.

So whatever, i'm done lol, even if it's the worst kind of 3rd gen processor it will still meet my requirements and £80 cheaper than the previous one I tried, feel worse than a women in a f**king shoe shop now... Ugh!

So got the laptop, everything working great, the speakers aren't as good as i'd hoped, but will do it's good enough.

Surprisingly though, roping is pretty damn good with the spacebar it has, and also seems good for default schemes where you need more precision with arrow movement.

This laptop has a great keyboard, not sure what the big red button in the middle of it is for, perhaps it's for blind people to get their bearings right when typing, will go research it.

Edit - Oh sh*t! This is pretty cool! It's like another mouse in the middle of the keyboard and can magnify stuff as well! Also scrolls! I guess my theory was pretty stupid considering you have F&J for bearings anyway.
