Orange is working on the streaming side of things and as it's easy to upload the streams to the youtube channel we're going to create, and we want to start right away so we're in BIG need to charismatic commentator(s) for todays clanner playoffs to get the ball rolling. Playoffs start at 19GMT.
Who would be interested? Please try to forward this as much as possible since it's happening today.
As for ideas for the topic of commentating is to make it noob-friendly with history aspects of WA and at the same time enterntain us more experienced ones who already know whats going on.
Any other ideas?

ok guys i will comment but my english sux a bit. so i need another wormer to do this in a cool way: it would be perfect just to set up a skype call (or TS) and chatting normally, i would be the "noob" one, asking things and helping to comment the games in a way that everyone can understand what's going on. who is interested?
this is the first attempt so i don't expect a freaking show, lets just do it i assure you it will be fun :D

You seem to have the right idea though, blending those things seems best.
Agree on the BnG part, but it could be used to talk more about history of Worms for example... and Orange showed me this neat trick that he's able to draw at the same time the game is happening, so you could be predicting the shots before hand perhaps or something like that.

I will try to get alot of viewers for this event, I'll be posting on a big finnish PC/Gaming forum about the stream.
If you guys got gamer forums you participate/know of, post a message and so they get a glimpse of what Worms Armageddon is all about. Bring the A-game, commentators should come up with a general plan how they are going to approach it, if there's delays when hosting, in the lobby and so on.
If we get even 1 more player who starts playing because finds the game interesting, it's already progress.

Ok so I posted an advertising thread off the stream on 2 of the biggest forums in Finland and I'm positive we will get A LOT of viewers from there.
We should get more people aware from other countries so GOGOGOGO fast, advertise to tune into the stream.
When I'm not playing (if not all) I will be entertaining our finnish guests in the chat.
Do your best now commentators and other peoples in the chat. We want to make it for them as easy as possible to start playing this online and give them the best resources.
Let's make it happen!

f@#! it, since everyone is using this thread I'll post some feedback here. :D I wanna be constructive here, no harm intended. Not saying I would've made it better because I've been there and done worse probably. ;)
What I liked:
- franz as your co-caster was really nice
- the general quality of your stream is almost perfect
- you put an overlay with the current score
What (imo) needs to be improved:
- the sound delay was a bit confusing and annoying, do you know how to fix this yet?
- commentators were too silent in general, should explain more things to the newb spectators that we are tune in
- the breaks were boring, should put a fancy wormy screen with a "be back shortly for game X" text as well as some music (!)
- shouldn't show the lobby at all, only switch from the above mentioned fancy screen to the game when everyone is ready and it starts
- was a bit awkward to see you private messaging, but because you're in one of the clans participating it could hardly be circumvented i guess
- when you answer to twitch chat you should read out the question/suggestion or whatever, i was wondering what you were talking about at some points
- while the peja & philie video in the bng break was a nice intention, it's got nothing to do with the game for anyone not related to the tus community.. i guess any high quality wormtube video would be suited way better for breaks
- the whole thing with komo live on stream wasn't necessary, really.. that was very unprofessional and a poor representation of our community
I think that's about it. I really like the effort with the streaming, keep it up. :)

I have already talked to DarK about various topics he talks about and pretty much agree with all he posted!
It really looks awkward if the moderator is also cheering for his own clan, it should be kept neutral. xD
And yeah, the komo ban, really unnecessary, not only way too exaggerated (arguments happen, it's normal) but looked really bad. :)
You should hire moderators that do the "dirty" work like muting/banning and such stuff in the chat. Not the moderator of the gameplay.
Gj, overall, just improve that and all good.

I don't know if anyone realised I was banned, well I dunno how that thing works, but when he said "don't f@#! with me, I have powers here" or something, I dunno how many people noticed but I was like, wtf man? None of us were even talking about OrangE we were talking about T17 lol, we were all just having a laugh, if someone had even PM'd me and asked me to stop or something I would have...
Regarding what darKz said, I feel franz done a great job commentating the Elite, he explained almost every move, the tactics and why they were doing such things, even possible scenarios I think. I actually learned from this and i've been playing since 1999... Thanks franz !
Maybe we should have a team of commentators for each group of schemes or something?

- i will have to fix my audio because it sux badly, ill work on it.
- the silence: well me and franz never talked before, all this thing was arranged very quickly so not having something scheduled can be hard. he did an awesome job tho, without him i would have felt alone and silly. my english isn't enough to explain everything, so i just tried to act a little funny to do my part. re-watching the stream i think i sounded probably too much childish, it was just my first attempt to keep some audience interactinng with people. i'd say it was not a total failure tho, i just will have to improve some entertaining skills.
- i just learned using xsplit, layouts will be more complex for next streams so i will arrange measures for breaks and get prepared for eventual drops too.
- this was the fist try, so yeah my comments were for dt of course, it wasn't meant from my side to be SO professional and neutral, but we can fix this too, for the finals i will just do a small part and keep my comments neutral. franz is perfect for commenting i guess, so it would be cool if he will comment next games too. but the crucial thing is having a carismatic person that keeps the views up and being too much serious makes people run away. people watching streams do want to see commentators interact with the chat all the time, joking, laughing, etc. so we are still open for someone that maybe wants to dive into this!
- about the chat yesss you're absolutely right i didn't realize that if you are watching it at full screen you can't actually read the chat, so interacting without explaining what you're seeing looks stupid. i will fix this too.
- the peja - philie break was stupid, of course. i just didn't wanna make the ppl stare at a blue screen for so long so i did the first thing that came in my mind, i will have scheduled breaks for that.
- komo. komo you are a drama queen. i really didn't like your attitude and no, i didnt ban you, it was just a 600 seconds time out. there's a little button you can press to temporarly time out people and it was meant to be for fun, wasnt a serious thing at all. you could just re-join the channel and i would laugh with you about that again. why i did that? well because we are putting some serious effort here, and reading someone that repeats a hundred of times that "the scheme is 100% luck based" acting trollish certainly doesn't make the game look competitive, which is our goal. you are an old player here and you should understand that, if you're looking for attention go elsewhere please. do you think all my "uuuhhh!!! niceeee!" "wowww nice jump!" during the games were natural reactions? of course not, i was acting all the time to try making the game more interesting i could for newcomers. and you should too. you can discuss about luck here on TUS, not in the chat of a stream with 100 potential new wormers, what the hell. you were disrespecting all our effort.
BUT besides all, im sorry for this if it looked bad, maybe i just over-reacted and i wasnt perfectly lucid, i have nothing personal against you and to be honest when i pressed that button i didn't even know it would erase your messages and time out you for so long. i thougt it would just disconnect you from the chat for few seconds. so stop acting like a drama queen like you usually do and accept my apologies. running a stream having 258 unique visitors is HUGE for what we are used to, so please try to understand my point.
last thing: if you wanted to comment the game you should at least come earlier. it would be really nice to have you in the voice chat, but how could you think i would have the time to assist you during the stream? you even wanted me to give you links for downloading team speak, wtf? can't you use google?
your idea of having a team of commentators for each scheme can be really nice btw, we will discuss about this.
in conclusion: yeh, a bunch of stuff to be fixed BUUUT what the hell guys. 258 unique visitors for W:A is big stuff. this means ME AND FREE WERE f@#!ING RIGHT. this game can still provide some interest around the net, we just have to find good ways to share what we've got.

It wasn't a timeout, it was a ban, 600 seconds is 10 minutes dude, the game would almost be over by then, you could have easily PM'd me and warned me, AND EVERYONE ELSE DOING THE SAME THING.
I didn't even start the subject of T17 being lucky, stop trying to pin this on me just because I have somewhat of a reputation on these forums, no one else was complaining about me, it was only you, I deserved every right to be warned 1st.

Loving the positivity and the suggestions, and step by step it's only going to get better.
Was so fun night last night, and even more glad we got such a thriller out of it.
I got a suggestion but it has some flaws to it.
I got complaints of how they couldn't understand the first scheme(s) and what they had to do with Worms Armageddon they are used to. So in the future streams if clan decides to pick elite for instance, would be better to pick it as 1st game so viewers stick around with higher percentage. But the truth is, we're doing this to win the playoffs and obviously the wisest decision is to pick the strongest schemes first.
Let's start streaming tournament of schemes people are more familiar with and get them interested like that.
This + everything else will be discussed under new sub-forum MI is going to create for this ambitious project of us, but I'm still planning the "big picture" and am not sure about the name should be.
"Official" YouTube channel will be created today/tomorrow and name suggestions as well general content for it are welcome. Bigger talk will be on the newly created forum though. Stay tuned. Little busy for some hours now but then I'll get right to it.
Ain't it amazing that when you work for something your passionate about, you can't WAIT until you can create some more. :)
I also Vote for Komo as commentator as well Avirex. All the people interested, shout out to this thread or PM me.

When you love something, you just simply want to do it and funnily enough on some level I feel that WA just simply does not get the attention it deserves. Someone just has to take the first step and see the possibility instead failure.. atleast try, that way you don't regret it later.. I fully believe that we will get an e-Sport event happen but if its not ment to be, then at least we helped to grow the community and most importantly have fun while doing it.

If you are looking for a commentator, I'm up for the job, as long as I'm not playing. My spoken English is not perfect, but I can make up for that with my talkativity and worms experience.
Also, here are some of my ideas for the longish breaks between games:
- WormTube videos, obviously.
- Prepared replays which demonstrate the way schemes work, the possibilities of WA nowadays (rubberworm, PX), or just previous games between the current participants (though you would need to remind the audience all the time that it's not the actual live gameplay, just a saved game from the past)
- Browsing TUS, showing statistics of the participating clans/players, standings, playoff tables etc, also just features of the website in general.
- Tutorials on how to install and configure WA, where to find an update, maps, schemes, what are the social norms on wormnet, how to host with wormnat2 etc.

And I would mention an other suggestion (but this was maybe done, and I just didn't hear it):
- A more detailed presentment of the teams and the players. I mean, you should have said for example, that dt is a very old-school clan, they won 6 consecutive playoffs, etc. TaG is not maybe a Chilean clan (as I heard :D), but they are. And this is very respectful that Chile has so many good players that they can create a so strong clan. (And these things can be said couple of times, like "if anyone has joined just now the stream, then for them bla bla.." :D)
- I think at the start of the game you should present the players who are playing. Where are they from, How long do they play the game, Any trophies they won, Do they have maybe a good history, How good are they in the actual scheme (maybe they are the masters of the scheme, who haven't lost any game for a long time, or they have more than 90% winning ratio (maybe both team, so this will be a good match :D)) etc. So I mean you should see about the clans/players who will play and notice some curiosity (ofc if you will have time to do that)
By answering these questions I guess there would be less break :D
But we know this was a very quickly streaming and commentating and how good it succeed :D Truly a nice job ;)

Most of them were finnish viewers as I advertised on some big forums I'm part of that are interested in gaming, other people advertised too, and it was done only 1 hour prior to the start, would be lot higher if we advertised earlier.

It's up to luck whether reddit users accept a submission because of the huge number of links posted every hour. But if we post the information around 24 hours before the stream, we could get hundreds to thousands of viewers if it catches on.
WA is quite popular on a Polish link aggregator Wykop.pl, http://www.wykop.pl/tag/worms (it's not rare to see people on AG wearing a "wykop" tag or hosts named "wykop"), anyone from Poland who has an account there should post a notice a day before as well.
I'm sure there are gaming-based link aggregators in other languages, let's make a big spam action before the next stream :D

annnd yes, we definitely want to share the stream links on reddit too. with a bit of luck we could make a huuuuge viral.
for the future: if we manage to get some good average views for every tournament (300+) i could ask twitch.tv to have a partnership. this means they would put my stream on the main page when its going, randomly switching between all other partnership accounts. basically more views can catch even more views. they encourage people to ask partnerships for games that aren't already streamed often (wa is not streamed by anyone so far, so this could be a HUGE advantage for us).
so yeah guys, im really happy about this positive wave going on here, lets try to share our stuff as much as we can, ill put all the effort i'm capable to give, according with my exams coming. this simply means i won't play funners but only focus on events and promotion from now.
last thing that came in my mind: i've watched a lot of followed streamers. there are 2 types, basically:
1. the attention whore: usually alone, playing interesting adventure games and chatting all the time with the spectators. very informal, jokes, long silences. spectators chat with each other hoping for a feedback from the streamer, which gladly do that. followed by fans.
2. the professional: usually not alone and not playing, commenting in a professional way what's going on only for big events, talking all the time with NO BREAKS, relatively not caring about spectactors. spectators chat with each other about what's going on. followed by random people.
i think we should go for an hybrid. acting professional regarding the game, explaining everything to the spectators, but never forget to interact and give some good show. WE DEFINITELY WANT TO GET FANS. we might wanna be chatty, never stop talking. we should have at least 1 commentator that interacts and 1 that is more professional and focused on the game.

I honestly think if we wanna branch out, we need to seriously SERIOUSLY as a community cut out the immature language and swearing etc, it's ok how we are now cuz we are used to it, but this forum as it is now would push people away not bring them in I think...

What the f**k, HMV went into administration, luckily the headphones I bought the warranty is with Monster not HMV - PHEW !
There were no electrical shops open so I couldn't buy a microphone but I think my work sells them so i'll pick one till tomorrow, no rush as I won't be able to commentate till next PO anyway.

Yep, HMV are the latest to suffer, my local one has big sales but is closing in a couple of weeks no doubt.
You mention electrical, Jessops (camera shop) has also gone down.
I, too, may look to get some form of microphone to help with commentary if needed.
This whole streaming thing is really good, *shameless advertising* Dulek and I may be playing our RR Cup final at 7pm GMT Sunday.

Ok so I found out that one of the forums I posted the advertisment thread to is an old pro Worms player from Finland and he's actually moderator of that forum (murobbs, husk). I asked what his nick was and waiting for the answer.. I'm guessing its Voltage. He said he loves the game.
I'm going to ask him to support the gam by making a bigger deal about it on the forum. It's the biggest PC and gaming forum in Finland with shitload of members.

Yep, HMV are the latest to suffer, my local one has big sales but is closing in a couple of weeks no doubt.
You mention electrical, Jessops (camera shop) has also gone down.
I, too, may look to get some form of microphone to help with commentary if needed.

I honestly think if we wanna branch out, we need to seriously SERIOUSLY as a community cut out the immature language and swearing etc, it's ok how we are now cuz we are used to it, but this forum as it is now would push people away not bring them in I think...
