Description:
Welcome to the fourth public Abnormal cup!As the year is ending, worms challenge theirselves once more in a team-killing contest.
The cup is open to everyone, so don't hesitate to join it even if you're already familiar to the scheme or if you're barely learning about the concept right now.
Games are bo5 in group stage and knockouts (upon agreement, finals and bronze match may be played bo7). Don't be put off by how long this may sound: an average Abnormal game lasts for 4-6 minutes, therefore a bo5 Abnormal match shouldn't last more than a single Team17 game. Games generally end in 3-4 turns.
So, tell me... What is Abnormal?Think outside the box, break mental barrier of suiciding your own worms, cause mayhem by decimating your troops!
Well, the main idea behind Abnormal is to kill your worms in the most efficient way. It's a really fun scheme developed and promoted by van with a help from RoH members
(special thanks go to KRD and DarkOne). You can read all about it
HERE; and, if you're completely new to the scheme,
these strategies would come in handy. The scheme is extremely addictive and has become an insta-favourite for many wormers, try out it once and you'll see for yourself! It requires a lot of swift, creative thinking and pretty much a flawless execution of your plan, all that in under 45 seconds - often leading to hilarious results/mistakes.
How about maps?Play on islands and avoid bridges at any cost! The best results are achieved on semi-complex maps.
What if a draw happens in a group?- Activity (i.e. being serious in game arrangements in particular) will be the first criteria that will determine which drawing player will get a higher rank. Games are defined as soon as signups end, so it is best to just ask your opponents in any way (be it this page's comments, TUS PMs/IMs, IRC, any other IM/PM client...) when they can play as soon as you know your games. That way, you'll have entire weeks to both arrange and then play games. In other words, the "I couldn't find him" excuse won't work if you didn't even try to arrange your games whilst your opponent did.
- If both players happen not to arrange games seriously, then neither of them will proceed, giving the planned opponent a free win.
- If both players happen to be serious in game arrangements, then either remaining worms after each round or a rematch will be taken into account (at the moderators and players' discretion, on a case-by-case basis).
Who won previous Abnormal cups? Whom shouldn't I mess with?Abnormal cup #1: OrangE.
Abnormal cup #2: DarkOne.
Abnormal cup #3: piki1802.
Good luck and have fun!
