Make a rule so people are not allowed to play on such maps. This is ridiculous.

I didn't want to... but he was all freaked out... "my pick, my map" sort of arguments. Besides, there is no rule about this, so I didn't have the option of refusing to play.

hmm, this might have to be looked into deeper then.
normally I'd say to ask nicely to change the map, but it sounds like pizza's attitude made this impossible? can you post the game lobby chat log?

it makes me wonder the other possibilities in other schemes -> someone tries hosting a 5 second ttrr map, or a completely flat bng map with no objects, or a roper map with just two little dots, etc.

at some point, there is a line between 'my pick, so my map' and completely unacceptable maps.
mods will discuss this issue.

He said he was in a hurry and that was the reason for picking this map, since it makes the game fast - which it doesn't necessarily do. Besides, we could have finished the game at a later time, which to be hoenst didn't cross my mind at that point.

"my pick, my map" is incorrect.
Your pick means you get to pick the scheme. Not the map. Both players have to agree on a map.
If he does this again, you can remind him of this. If he still refuses to play, then that means the game can't be played. I would not award a free win if a person is too stubborn to change maps. (But please do include logs to prove this)
