SuperFrontendHD not working with Wine
« on: December 30, 2020, 04:07 PM »
Hello everyone, merry Christmas and happy new year!
I wanted to have a bigger frontend, so I installed SuperFrontendHD by StepS.
Unfortunately it is not working: the frontend window remains at 640x480, as you can see from the attached image.
I use Debian 10 and Wine 5.0.3.

These are my INI file options:
Code: [Select]
[Misc]
EnableModule=1
Resolution=Auto
CustomWidth=0
CustomHeight=0

[Magnification]
FontScaling=Default
SuperGraphics=1
AutoScaleMissingGraphics=0
SetInternalResolution=Auto
CustomInternalWidth=0
CustomInternalHeight=0

For me the ideal resolution would be 1280x960 or 1280x720.
However using Custom Resolution Width and Height does not change the window size.

It's a known issue and the only workaround right now is to disable windowed mode.
Dec 30 2013 23:59:44 <StepS> windowed mode isn't the only thing you need about frontend
Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it

If I disable windowed mode the resolution is changed to my in-game one, but it doesn't go full screen.
The game window is still 640x480, but cut and in the upper left of my monitor.

Thank you for making this module.
Even if right now I won't be using it with Wine, I can still use it when I'm on Windows.
Your work is truly fantastic!

I'll keep an eye open and I'll report in if something changes.
Happy new wormy year!
