would it be possible to mark your own posts as offtopic and they will be hidden then. to watch them other users could click on button. this could make the forums more enjoyable for some people, and the others wouldnt lose their fun.

but im not sure if people seriously would click just to read some bullshit.

Sure, that would be fine - youtube comments work that way, right?

But how I understood his idea is that he wants to be able to flag his own posts, possibly before even submitting them. A handy excuse for crapping useless posts all over forums, if you ask me.

I wonder who voluntarily mark his posts as "off-topic" o0. That's kinda against all rules of teh internet imo. Especially people posting random off-topic bullshit won't mark their posts as off-topic.

im pretty sure alot of people know when they post offtopic. in most cases its not because they want to destroy the discussion. its because you want to share something.
Its kinda annoying to read so many offtopic stuff when just want to follow a specific topic.
(happens rarely to me but it happens)  

also alot of posts are adressed to a small number persons who pretty enjoy them, all others just see crap in it. i can only speak for myself, i really would appreciate this option. (for example: i dont want to force everyone to read my shit when i am trolling komo.)

If you want to make these forums a better place, then start at yourself (like everybody should) and THINK before you post.

seems like you dont get my point, trolling was just an example (and yes right now it happens all over) im talking about offtopic in general.

this turned from saved maps into quality of tus forums.

people are different in their use of a forum. some want clear threads (group a) others enjoy offtopic talkings (group b). i am thinking on a way to make the forums better for group a without ruin it for group b.

because atm group a is f@#!ed.

There's also the difference between having the option to tag your post off-topic and actually tagging your post off-topic (when appropriate). I don't think many people would actually bother doing it (and many will forget), which would make this feature kind of pointless.

no, people are posting offtopic freely now. i dont think anyone got thoughts like: i never posted offtopic but now i do it because theres the possibility to tag my post.

and even this would happen, other people would not get annoyed by this posts.
