Notching can't be banned because it's part of the game, although a future update could certainly remove it. And I already passed a rule saying visual aids aren't allowed.

should be allowed to force /TestStuff, which at least makes full power shots not always 100% possible

What Mablak said. It's the game mechanics and it's smart from a competitive point of view to take use the game mechanics best as possible.

This said, I also hope notching will be disabled in the future patches, as I believe in 4.0 they are planning that the power won't full out and start going down after going to the maximium power.

The scenario I see as bad is that if EVERYONE learned to notch, if would make BnG a "bad" scheme to play. Currently though, don't hate the player, hate the game. :)

this is already in the game Free, just type /TestStuff in the lobby, or /ts or /test.

Your aim must be readjusted before every shot. Crosshair must adjust over 45 degrees from its original position before the next shot can be made.
So many cows in this game  :-*.

Sure we could rope slower but it's not sexy!

It's funny about notching... When I was young(er), I remember how these guys, and I remember specifically Volcom, was just shockingly good with their bazook and granades in Elite. I never knew anything about notching back then, and I was just amazed and it was such a thrill playing versus these players. I wonder if newcomers/youngsters today feel the same way, when they are up against players like Barman or some other for the first time? If so, then god bless notching. It made the best players seem even better, which in a way is true, and that's from my experience somewhat exciting experience when you're fresh to the game.

For new players, yeah, but for older who know things it feels nothing like a good shot, kinda destroys the fun. Too bad its so damn effective and "easy" if you have proper setup for this.

people are hating on notching, because they wont take the effort to learn it....

if they learned, then they would not be wanting to ban it.

its funny how everyone says its so easy to learn... im not going to say its hard, but it certainly does take some time to learn, and effort put in, to master it...

there is a pretty extensive discussion in dt forums on notching, mablak gave some pointers, and barman was intrigued... he started to practice, learn, experiment and share everything he learned... i think there was even some points where mablak learned some things... if anyone wants to see this thread, maybe we can make it public for others... but dont think notching is going to be learned over night, will tkae time

for now notching is not a problem, only maybe 1% of players I play against notch.. so if I lose rating because of this rare occassion, I can live with that

Nah, we wont give it to the public, just out of the respect of the hours that Mablak put to wind notches for example. If you want to learn it, put your time into it, or join dt.
