Jeez, even TUT wasn't this inactive! I think we need to rethink this Cup system :/

Without ruining the essence, we can't continue this cup unless more games get played, so the time limit shall currently stand indefinitely. I simply urge players to get their games played as quickly as possible.

Or anyone who would like this Cup to continue regardless, please speak up

I'm not sure how old you are but many people on that list have jobs, families and other commitments that disallow them to arrange and play all their games quickly and efficiently. You also have to allow time for members who are not so motivated to play their games as quickly as possible to get the fairest results when deciding who goes through to the next round. I have previously TRIED to keep deadlines shorter and it just results in unfair decisions being made.

Please read what I have written carefully as it all makes perfect sense. You are the first person to have EVER kicked up this much fuss about the cups deadlines (At least in any that I have moderated), and you have never played a cup in your life.

Please stop this banter and make some informed choices of argument once you have seen a whole cup take place in true light. This discussion has become increasingly pointless

I suggested that you relieve yourself from this cup as you have made various comments suggesting that you do not appreciate the way this cup is being held and there are definitely others who would appreciate the opportunity to be included in this cup more than you.

makes me forget about this, makes me not wanna continuing this

Find some educated members who agree with your argument or please stop trying to push your uninformed opinions. If you still feel this way after the cup has finished, then please do feel free to express your thoughts based on the outcome, but your current skeptical ideas and predictions are not helping the matter

What I don't understand is why YOU don't understand the reasons that this will not be finished so quickly. You are coming up with ridiculous statements now, and I don't appreciate you suggesting that I am taking these actions in a selfish manner.

I have said everything I can say, if you still believe you're not going to enjoy this cup then please relieve yourself from the position you have. I know a few people who would still like to join this cup

Twistah, explaining this to you is becoming very tedious. You don't seem to take on board anything I say.

I promise you that there are plenty of players in this cup with a lot more patience than you are portraying, and many who have played these types of cups before. These people were obviously not put off by the "long" waiting time you seem to be dwelling on so much and they seem to expect this cup to be as fun as ever.

And these cups ARE special! They are designed to be held once in a blue moon for the purpose of handing out a well sought after position of "Cup Winner", which will be held for a long period of time. We want members to feel like they are really achieving something by winning these cups, and that would be VERY hard to achieve if we held these cups week after week. The position would become senseless.

So in conclusion, yes, we only plan on holding these cups on a rare basis. Yes, we will take our time in doing so. Yes, people (With patience I can only assume, comes from experience or understanding of previous cups) will still have fun, regardless of any of the above.

1. You are not giving a suggestion, you are mocking an informed decision I have made with a very uninformed argument.

2. The deadline currently stands at four weeks, not five - I referred to an extra week; Three weeks being the formerly planned deadline.

3. If you are going to be meticulous, then yes, this is a tournament by definition. But cups as we know them are generally far larger, exclusive and most importantly, more fun than the tournaments we see on a daily basis. I shall emphasise on the exclusiveness of cups, being that you will not see them hosted often, and they are here to be enjoyed by everyone who participates. This alone accounts for part of the reasoning behind slower progress when comparing cups to tournaments.

As for your remarks on how you think this cup will pan out, please refine your "suggestions" to a more constructive form. At least to allow this thread to retain some form of organisation and legibility for other members :)

This is not a tournament, the games are not intended to be played over-night. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these sorts of lengths to be given for games to be played.

You are apparently not familiar with how cups work, so if you would like to be removed from this cup (I.e. If you feel you're not going to have any fun and/or benefit from playing), then I'm sure there is someone else who would appreciate the position here

I don't want anyone to leave this cup with hard feelings, so all I can say to try and reassure you is that I have hosted a good few cups in my time now, and all have proceeded well with a strict deadline (3 Weeks is generally a good period of time to be given for 32+ players).

And remember that the cup does not just have to be about yourself; You can follow others successes and watch previously played games - I'm sure there will be plenty of action to keep you busy over the next few weeks :)

There are many names on that list that I know are not so active, and arranging these games may take a while. The cups (Note: Not a tournament) are not here to be rushed, they are here to include anyone and everyone who wants to play and compete against others. A little patience will be a virtue here, not only to yourself but for others aswell

If the demand is high enough, I will lower the deadline to 3 weeks instead of 4, but I know from experience that any less if asking for seemingly unfair judgments to be made at the end of the deadline

Cheers, guys!

And I added an extra week onto my originally planned deadline, simply for the number of players in the cup. A month sounds like a long time, but it will undoubtedly pass quickly. These cups are to be enjoyed leisurely :)
