TUS Discussion / Connecting comments to the forums
« on: July 29, 2009, 05:29 PM »
I'm gonna connect comments (Leagues games comments and Schemes comments) to the forums.
This way:

1.If you click on unread posts or unread replies, System will show you the unread posts or replies in the comments also. So you won't miss a post on TUS.
2. You can use the forum search to search through comments.
3. Is there anything more? XD

Ok, The thing is TUS has no log of who has visit which comment. So when the connection is done, TUS detects these comments as new posts. There are about 300 games/schemes that we have post our comments to. So after the connection, You will see about 300 new topics. (if you click on unread posts)

When you saw this, Don't freak out! XD If you click on the "Mark ALL messages as read", You'll be fine and come back to normal ^^

I started this topic just to inform you from now. Because any new topic will get lost in those 300 new topic and you would probably miss this.

v1.1  2009.07.21
  • BB buttons added to the group description field.
  • Groups edit page now shows the list of people that have been invited successfully under the "invite" button.
  • List of countries added.
  • List of TNL squads added.
  • Boards added to groups edit page. You can now add/modify/delete as many boards as you want all by yourself.

235
This guide explains the edit page of a clan or community on TUS which is only viewable by Incharge members of the group.

Information

This part contains general information about your group.
Like its activity status, Full name, Site address and description.

The description will be viewed on your groups general page.

Images and Fanfare

In this part you can set a flag, a symbol and a fanfare for your group.

Wherever on TUS your group name is being viewed, If you have set a flag for it, Its flag will be shown next to it (Or instead of it).
The symbol image will be viewed under the members name list on your group general page.
Your fanfare will be played whenever someone views your groups general page. (You must have Apple Quicktime installed)

Invite People

Here is where you can send invitation to people to join your group.

You can invite as many people as you want in one shot by separating them with coma (,)
There are 2 ways for adding people to the invite field:

1. There's an autocomplete running there so if you type the first characters of someone's username, It will show you the rest.

2. Under this field there's a link called "Find Members". Click on it, An small window will open helping you find the username. You can use * characters in this field to search for the members. For example:

J* => Will give you all the people who's username or email starts with J.

When the results are found, If you click on a username, That username will be added to the field automatically.

There's a default text as in "Invite message". If you click on the "Invite" button the invitation will be sent to all the people you had selected. If you don't want any message to be sent, Just delete the invitation message field contents.

When the invitation is sent, The system will give you the result for each player.
If the the player is already in a clan/community or has been already invited to a clan/community the system won't send them invitation until they quit/reject their group.

Otherwise the invitation is sent and you will see your invitation at the bottom of this part (Under the Invite button)

Edit Existing Members

Ok, As said above, There are 2 type of members for each group:

1. Incharge member
2. Normal member

An Incharge member has the ability to edit the group settings. They can view the group edit page. So they edit whatever options are on this page.

A normal member can't access this page, So basically they can't edit the group.

In this part of the edit page, You can change your group members permission access or even kick them out from the group.

Forum Boards Settings

This part started with beer asking about a private board. (Dedicated to beer :))
On this part you can actually edit your boards (If you have any) on TUS forums.

You can make as many boards as you need by yourself.
Your options are:

1. Board Name:  Here you specify a board name.
2. Description: the description of the board. Will be viewed under the board name on TUS forums.
3. Board type: If you check this checkbox. This board will be a private board, Which means Only your group members can view it. Other people on TUS will have no idea even if such board exists.
4. Board access: You can choose between 4 types of boards here. Do you want your board to be "read only", "No Polls", "Replay Only" or "Normal"?

Once you created your board, It will be viewed at the top of this part on this edit page and of course in TUS forums.

The thing you must notice is, System will assign your group Incharge members as your boards moderators. So whoever is your group Incharge, Can do anything a mod can do with your boards on forum.

If you wanna add/remove moderators from your boards, Just edit their permission in the "Edit Existing Members".

Ok, To edit a board you have created, Click on the "edit" link next to it. When the page is opened, The "Create new board" part is changed to "Edit board". You can modify your board there. There's an extra option added as "Board Order". By this option you can move your board up and down.

TUS Discussion / TUS Navigation (How to find a page in TUS)
« on: July 22, 2009, 03:37 PM »
I've seen some people complain about TUS navigation. So I try to explain TUS navigation concept here.

The Main Navigation Links
It is located at the top of each page:

These links never change, No matter in what page you are visiting or even if you are a guest or not...
These links contain individual parts on TUS.
For example:
There's 'Leagues' link. 'Forums' Link. 'Schemes' link. Each one of the links which appear on this part points to a whole individual part on TUS.

The Tabs
Ok, Once you have clicked on one of these links, You will be redirected to their specific pages.
Each one of these parts MAY have multiple sub-pages.

Normally when you are viewing a part page, You can see their pages as tabs.

For example,
The 'Leagues' part contains 'Recent Games', 'Stats', 'Playoffs', ...

The 'Groups' part contains 'List of Countries', 'List of Clans & Communities' ...

To ease of the access to these tabs, So that you won't have to first enter a parts page then click on its tab, These tabs are shown as drop down menu under each part on the Main navigation link:

For example for 'Leagues' part:

Or for 'Groups' part:

Action Panel

The action panel links changes when you browse different parts on TUS. For example when you are viewing the 'Leagues' part, Your action panel looks like something like this:

Or when you are viewing the 'Forums' part, Your action panel links changes to this:

As you can see in the images above, The action link contains the links for the logged user. If a guest is viewing the same page, Action panel will show login or register informations.

So again, These links depends on what part on TUS you are actually viewing.

User Panel
Do you remember what have we done to Main navigation links and The Tabs? (To ease of access)
The same is done to Action panel links.

Each link in the Action Panel, Is in your User Panel area. Since we have different Action Panel links for each part on TUS, The User Panel is categorized by each part.
For example:

You have 'Leagues' in the User Panel, Guess if you put your mouse on it, What links would appear? Yes, The Action Panel links: 'Report a Game', 'Your stats'...

Same goes with other parts. What about the forums?

Link Tree

And at last, You can always see where you are on TUS by checking out the Link Tree.

The Link Tree part is always located under the Tabs:

He pmed me:

Quote from: enigma
I lagged out of a clan game and he instantly reported it, and wouldn't replay it. Can you sort this out for me please? Or let me know how I can complain/sort it out. We won the first game and I lagged out of the second... Watch the replay if you like...

Cheers, eNigMa.

Leagues General / Time Machine labels
« on: July 16, 2009, 08:22 AM »
When the number of seasons grow more and more, TUS Time Machine only shows a bunch of numbers for each season and I've noticed it's gonna be so confusing. (Seeing a lot of number that you don't know which is which)

So I added labels for each season. It looks something like this:

I started this topic to ask for the best labels of each season. We can set multiple labels for each season, So that each time the Time Machine is loaded, It will pick one of each seasons labels by random.

So if you're interested, Post the best label you think that suit an specific season.
(Notice each league has its won season)

Leagues General / What is a squad, How to create/join it
« on: July 16, 2009, 08:09 AM »
Squads are way different than a clan or community.

A squad is a group of friends (Max 4) joining together, All of them have equal rights to edit their squad or kick people from it.

At the moment squads only work for the TNL league.

How to join a Squad
To join a squad, First you must have its joining password. Ask the squad members for it. Once you have the password,  Goto your league settings, Scroll down the page to the "TNL Squads Options".

There are 2 fields. Enter the squad acronym in the first field and its password in the second field and click on the "Join Squad" button and you are done.

How to Create a Squad
Again in the TNL Squad options, You will see the "Create Squad" part.
Pick an acronym for your squad (Max 5 characters).
You can set a full name, A flag also.
And at last pickup a join password and click on the create button.

Once the squad is created in the same page, You will see your squad edit options and people that have joined it.

Leagues General / Had a bad start? You can reset!
« on: July 16, 2009, 07:58 AM »
Have you had a bad start? You can reset your entire stat, Yaaaaay!!!

ok. Before you get confused,
You are allowed to reset your stats:

1. Once per each season
2. In the first half of each season.
3. If the stats you want to reset is under 1000.

Otherwise you will see the reset button is disabled.

If you reset your current season stats, Your games in that season will be reset and you can keep your previous points + a new start in the current season.

When you reset your entire stats:
1. Your overall stats will be reset, Which means if someone watch your overall stats he/she will see that you have 1000 points.
2. When you report a game, The league system counts your new points and won't look at your history.
3. Your history WON'T be reset. If someone look at your stats in previous seasons he will actually see your stats in that time. Why?
If everyone could reset his stats permanently, Then we shouldn't keep any history at all.

If you reset your current season stats, You get to reset your entire stats as well anytime in that current season (If we are in the first half of that season). But if you reset your entire stats, The current season button will get disable too. In other words, The reset button for entire stats is like History reset + current season reset.
