disagreements are part of our life, aren't they?

I don't understand why you all overreact to my point of view?  :D

17
I wonder if this discussion could ever had happened if I didn't make this cup at all. What could we all be doing Instead? Maybe we could have effected someone's life profoundly. WHO KNOWS? :D

It seems to me that I offended someone, but in reality this is far from the case  :D

I just said my opinion about the scheme.
Hysteria for me is mostly shooting, but not strategy. At TUS they seriously think differently.

That's why it's easier for me to disappear from here than to continue pointlessly writing something here, lol

18
Please answer this question:

Why do you like Hysteria? What is it about the scheme that you enjoy?

How is it a sneaky move?

Sorry if this comes across as rude, this is a genuine question... Do you even know what the word "sneaky" means??

It appears to me that you don't understand what that means... Because that word implies stealth/deceit! Which is ridiculous... We are not using invisibility here or even hiding the fact that we pile.

You are aware it can happen, and when it happens it's obvious what the intention is. So using the word sneaky is ridiculous not to mention literally wrong.

In fact, everybody KNOWS, or SHOULD know and should accept that piling/sacrificing worms is a FUNDAMENTAL part of the entire Worms franchise, let alone Worms Armageddon.

Now, back to your "sneaky" comment... How is it stealth, or deceitful when you know it is a fundamental part of the game and players use this strategy on a daily basis??

I compare this level of ignorance to kicking a lion in the balls and beiung surprised when it attacks you and rips your face off!

If piling was illegal, this entire game would be pointlessly unbalanced for pretty much all strategical battle schemes that have multiple worms.

Why don't you complain about piling in Intermediate, Kaos, Team17, Elite etc? It serves the exact same purpose!

So not only is it a ridiculous notion to hate Hysteria because of piling, you're singling out one individual scheme for your own selfish and delusional desires.

Who is cheating in Cups?

Surely you mean piling tactic? As even those who like playing without piling still use teleport and jetpacks.

Hysteria is an artillery/strategy hybrid. It is not 100% artillery. If you want 100% artillery, then play BnG and stop moaning about something which has been designed perfectly just because you get annoyed at being piled and cannot accept that fundamental strategy of the entire franchise and pretty much all turned based gaming like this.

Also, when I say "you", that implies everyone who feels that way about piling.

Next you're going to tell me that sacrificing pawns in Chess is lame... Are you going to call Magnus Carlsen a cow???

It's one thing to not like it, I couldn't care less if people don't like it, that's a personal choice.

It's when they blatently lie and say things which are literally not true that bothers me.

Calling it "cheating", "sneaky", stuff like that, it's riduculous and those people need to be put in their place.

I wonder how you want to put me in my place?) Lol.

It's a pity that the English language is poor enough for me to be able to describe the situation more specifically, sorry.

I felt like I should be arguing here? although I only expressed my point of view, and it will remain unchanged.

For me, there is one type of hysteria that is played on TUS, with telecows; and another type of hysteria played on the Wormnet by in public host (there are very few of them, unfortunately).

When I played in the cup, in the group stage, I enjoyed the game. It doesn't matter who wins or loses. The players thought that telecow was a dirty trick and did not use it. As a result, we got a lot of fun from the game, I think.

Each player decides for himself whether to use telecow or not.
But apparently for all the nerds "pro-players" here it is more important to get a pixelated picture, points and some kind of rating (which will actually mean nothing as soon as the site disappears) than to get fun from the game.

If you want me to defend my opinion, I don’t need to do that. I do not see the point. If my opinion contradicts the opinion of the majority, this does not mean that it is incorrect.

I won't write any more in this thread. If you try to take this as a personal insult, I won't mind.
In this case, it will be enough for you to refuse to help me with the cup so that I can not waste time and start the playoffs. I would like to leave TUS as soon as possible.

19
a lot of you came running here with comments...

In fact, I continue to play and join the cups that I like, but at the same time I make too many mistakes when I do this.

I like hysteria, but in the format that is played in public games - without a telecow, and also when I played in the group round.

Telecow is a sneaky move that has no justification.
And only the player himself chooses whether to do so or not.
I will never play using telecow. This is a sneaky move.
And if my opinion does not coincide with yours, perhaps I really should leave the cups, because things like telecow ruin the fun and mood.

Although many people told me that playing on TUS is a fun thing, I see it from some players that this is not so.

I guess I'll finish the WoF Cup and finish the game here, on TUS.
For me, ordinary players are closer and simpler in relation to the game.
Even if many will be quitters, it is easier to understand than when they cheat in cups

Peace.

20
so play yourself with your balance, blah blah blah and stuff like that :D

21
At first it seemed to me that they were playing for fun here, but such vile tricks like telecow break the fun and spoil the mood

It seems to me that I am beginning to understand why many players play normal, kaos, shopper, where such techniques are unlikely. maybe I should throw all the cups away and play like everyone else? and leave your f@#!ing telecows to you so that you are left alone with it

22
no more hysteria in cups and leagues, I hate telecows

play this shit yourself lol

Time has been added for group matches until weekend.

This is a forced decision because Komo is busy this week and will not be able to make the draw until the weekend.

There is a possibility that there will also be no draw this weekend.
In this case, I have two solutions.

The first option is to ask someone who knows how and streams periodically so that he can help us make the playoff draw.

The second option is for me to do it myself, but it will only be spinning the wheel, without voice, comments, but possibly with background music and text comments.

This is the situation we have at the moment, guys.

Peace.

Leagues General / Re: Leagues Rules
« on: October 09, 2023, 09:53 PM »
As I once promised to detail the shortcomings of the league's schemes, I will do so here and now  :)

So, I am writing only my point of view, and I want other players who know to also participate in the discussion.

I will a list of schemes and comment on each of them:

TTRR - everything is fine. The last two sentences, which are related to scheme rules, can be eliminated by customizing the scheme. Turn off rope knocking and turn on Racing Stuff or similar thing

WxW is fine too.
I have a question about AFC. Is this relevant or not? In all the time I've been playing this scheme, I've never seen anyone attack from a parachute.

Shopper is ok but...
In the description of the rules, I read that shopper is played without the AFR rule. Is this really true or is it a typo?
And what does CWC mean?

The rules of the scheme are written here, and nothing more.
Let's say the scheme is current.
In this case, I think the standard is 4 worms per team for 1v1 and 2 worms for 2v2

I didn't play this scheme. But I can assume that there is no need to have more than one worm in the team.
And also enable racing stuff and disable worms knocking?
As for the rules, I like the system that is described in the BigRR scheme, where they count by time.
But I think some players could answer this question more specifically - how to determine the winner?

Despite the obvious, I would indicate the number of worms in the team (1 worm), and also enable a mode that would allow the super sheep to be launched through the worms of other players, and also so that the explosion does not scatter the worms.
I think Boomrace mode (/boom) would be a good option.

I would suggest replacing the standard boom race scheme with this one by JayX. Firstly, it would be more like a boom race. Secondly, the scheme uses a rubber and allows you to move around the map during the turn.
Standard Boom Race league scheme is morally outdated, it seems to me that it requires improvement, and the rubberworm allows this to be done. In this case, this is replacing scheme with a more modern version.

1 worm per team, S2F rules, turn on boom race mode before the game (perhaps this is already configured in the scheme)
Also the question is how to determine the winner? or allow a draw without counting time, as is done in BigRR

Scheme where there was recently a dispute after the WoF сup game.
Apparently, the time has come to finally resolve this issue.
So how do you decide the winner?
Or can this also be considered a draw?
Or count seconds, as is done in BigRR? Which is better?

And yes, the lack of rules for the scheme...1 worm per player, turn on the racing stuff before the game...s2f, etc.

There is also a question about whether it is worth doing a fixed wind every turn or not?
In real time versions of this scheme there are two modes - no wind and random wind.

There are no rules here, there is no essence of playing this scheme... I mean, nothing is specified.

I've only played battle race a couple of times. 1 worm per player, s2f, walk/jump races around the map, use weapons to slow down the enemy, and in this sense everything else...

Are there any prohibited things that cannot be done in this scheme?
Also the question is how to determine the winner? or allow a draw without counting time, as is done in BigRR

Honestly, I don't understand the point of this scheme, nor how it got into free league.
I think there are more interesting designs to replace the elemental. Grenade Wars, for example.
It’s been a long time since there have been similar votes and other things to add or remove any scheme to the league.

Since the Fort scheme is one of my favorite schemes, I should write a few words about the league scheme
This scheme is most suitable for large maps, because there is a banana bomb, sheep launcher.
Small maps will be destroyed quite quickly, and the fact that there are two homing missiles available makes the game even easier when the opponent has a small number of worms left.

This scheme is outdated and needs to be updated. First of all, this is disabling the explosion of grenades, as well as the ability to crawl onto the opponent’s worms. You can also make an endless jetpack and add flight speed to it, so as not to waste a lot of turn time changing holes. This one i made for my WoF Cup and also use it when I play golf. this is the hosting buddy scheme.

I would like to say a few words about the T17 TRL scheme. I often play this scheme with friends, and also in the T17 2x2 cup.
I noticed that the banana often falls out and upsets the balance.
It may be worth reconsidering the drop rate of this weapon, but the banana bomb can decide the outcome of the match.

At the moment, this is all that I managed to notice when studying the rules and schemes of the league, as well as some of the things that players encountered when playing my WoF Cup

I hope that some players will not be indifferent, because you play the league more often than me.

I will wait for answers and comments

Dear players, cup is finished.

Thanks to all players for participating.

Congratulations to:

pavlepavle with 1st place and Gold Medal
Stas9n1991 with 2nd place and Silver Medal
XanKriegor with 3rd place and Bronze Medal

Thank you all for your activity.

By the way, if I’m not mistaken, this cup was the first time a player with a winner’s bracket lost in the final, that is, he lost twice. I think this cup will go down in TUS history, if I'm right.

See you next year. I hope so.

Ggs.

congratz with Bronze, Xan ae :D

I look at the tournament bracket and don’t understand anything.

Isn't the second finalist of the cup pavlepavle? TUS identified him as playing for 3rd place.

Is this a bug? or the finalist has not yet been born for this cup?

Lol.

UPD: thx to MI for answer, now i understand xD

really wild playoff system

For those who do not know how the final playoff branch works here, in Double Elimination, I will retell it from MI words as I understand it.

"After a pair of players with a Winner's bracket and a Loser's bracket have played,
the winner of the Winner's bracket goes to the Final, the loser of the Winner's bracket goes to the match for Bronze;

The winner of the Loser's bracket advances to the Bronze medal match.

Next, the one who wins the bronze medal match goes to the Final.

At the same time, the finalist player from Winners bracket has the opportunity to lose his match with the right to rematch (for example, a second life), because he did not lose in the playoff."

Really nice map Lance!
It has some nice shots.

But we spotted a nasty pixel in the tunnel of hole 9 which makes it really evil.
It is just under the first 3 rings.

Hm

It’s strange, because I checked the entire map more than once before the release, and using the tools in Photoshop I couldn’t find the pixel that was interfering with you, but I decided to look anyway and try to find this pixel using an eraser, now, in theory, there shouldn’t be interference where you indicated

Just in case, I'll update map file. Perhaps I fixed what was needed

UPD:

On TUS I am waiting for confirmation from the moderator for the update

On Wmdb I updated the map, you can check it
