Promotion Project / Re: Best Moments of NNN clan

Oh yeah its a clan thing, then, i had replays from the league plus some from the forums. Thats why i had more of them with the intention to make intermediate focused movie with various people without focus on NNN clan alone.

Holy shit the memories. Thanks Pavel-B, I had in mind a movie with these gems but ive failed. Have you considered throwing more of these, i had a whole package of hand picked very best of and there were three times as much, iirc. Plus the only thing that didnt quite work for me was the structure of replays without cutting out/fast forwarding the unnecessary stuff in between notable moments, and it felt a bit like watching game replays with music on, but that's just me. The overall tone was great besides that, subtle effects and some really cool chiptunes. And Dario.

If you dont mind recording ingame sounds with video together for further velocity manipulation within your video editor, my advice is to use the method for exporting image frames from the game (link in Kaleu's post) and importing them as a image sequence for your project. WA videos are better that way, and you can still record sounds separately. Check my videos from my signature below - quality is still not the best you can get, but it's good enough to not annoy more demanding viewers :)

If you spoke to one of the devs and you got your answer, precise or not, what else are you trying to achieve? I mean you have already reached to the most reliable source.

I guess it just depends on how much time you put into it in your situation and if you feel tired playing it or not, and if you have better things to do in your free time. For me, yep, its currently a waste to play WA, but I just have to play some other games occasionally, its a part of who I am.

Off Topic / Re: Is mainstream music bad?
« on: February 12, 2019, 08:42 AM »
Mainstream to me is like what your regular person without sophisticated taste is able to swallow and enjoy, it's flexible (playable on any occasion), simple, it has to sell well just like any other product for masses, and somehow trendy so the majority can talk about it. Theres hardcore selection for overall flow, sounds used, words spoken, so artists freedom is very rarely in it, it's more like label is forcing what you will get to hear. It's been like that for many years, it's just we now live in a far different world than we had in 90's and before, we have access to information and internet, and music style thats pushed mainstream happens to be the worst since years, but that also goes for many different areas. At least we have choice in music's area and its all affordable, often cheaper to pay for original and non-mainstream content, unlike other things like electronics or food quality for example, which used to be good back in the day and now its worse and worse, even if more advanced giving a lot flexibility.

Announcements / Re: Worms Armageddon 3.8.0 changelog sneak peek
« on: January 10, 2019, 02:49 PM »
As a biased 'classic' old schooler i don't think (would love to be wrong) the 3.8 patch will return the glory league days of wa.

I'm affraid the only way to bring some life into classic WA would be official, properly organised ingame ranking system, tournaments and all that (among other things) happening within ingame menus, so basically the 4.0 rework we dream of, with good publicity on top of that. It's not like old farts will start comming back chasing past when they only grow older, so this game needs new generations if it wants to stay active that way for some more time.

A dream option for me is mirrored wind, would finally make BnG the perfect artillery scheme.

I disagree. That's clean reproducibility. If anything, a system that would generate 10 winds and then mirror them shuffled between players without that mirrored repetition of the same shot after shot would make more sense when it comes to fairness and not taking away that element of suprise.

Just by looking at the whole changelog you can tell how lucky we are to have these devs, theres so much depth and attention to detail being covered that even a layman with no proper knowledge about the game would be amazed. Can you even imagine finding and adressing all these little issues? In such a small community? And for free? Most paid devs would just leave them be because why bother.

These are ones that stand out for me the most with a direct impact at how WA will play now and what will be possible:

  • If an object (e.g. a rope-knocking worm) that would normally slide up one-pixel increments of terrain, and would normally knock another object (e.g. a worm), collided with both a one-pixel increment of terrain and a knockable object at the same location, it would rebound in the opposite direction, instead of knocking the other object and continuing to slide in the same direction.
- this is actually huge, especialy for Intermediate and schemes where rope-knocking is the key to win, so expect rope-knocking to work properly now, sliding these 1 pixel slopes will work everytime without bouncing off the pixels
  • It is now possible to save a snapshot of the current map in-game. The map is saved in its current destroyed/augmented state, with the water level set to its precise current level. There are two ways to do this: One is to press Alt+Pause, and the other is to enter /map in the chat panel (synonyms of this command are /mapshot, /snapmap, /savemap, and /getmap).
- I've been missing this feature on many occassions, not to mention how easy it will be now to make some great maps that would benefit from it (ie. battlerace)
  • It is now possible to take screenshots with transparency. This can be enabled or disabled using the CaptureTransparentPNGs_On.reg and CaptureTransparentPNGs_Off.reg registry tweaks, respectively. This applies both to screenshots taken using the Pause key and to video frames captured using the Export Video feature. Note that transparent areas only exist when all background detail is turned off.
- i f@#!ing love this one, movie making will benefit the most from it, but not only
  • It is now possible to have W:A play sound effects while it is in the background. To set this option, use the "Play audio in background" checkbox in the Advanced Options screen, or use the PlayAudioInBackground_Enable.reg and PlayAudioInBackground_Disable.reg registry tweaks. Even with this option enabled, ambient sounds (front end menu loop and in-game ambient music) will still be disabled while W:A is in the background.
- this is so useful
  • W:A now has a new scheme format, supporting the tweaking of many options that were previously internal. Access to a limited subset of these options was previously opened up by a third-party module called "RubberWorm", and earlier versions of W:A had bundled some subsets of options in the form of the TestStuff, RacingStuff and BoomRacing hosting options, but the options are now all individually accessible.
- thats obviously one of the most important features, needed for so many years and finally here, so many possibilities and QOL improvements, I could actually write a whole page about this one... seriously!
  • Tweening!

You suggest that I am some sort of evil person, brand me as a dark triad??? That is extremely selfish and toxic behaviour.

Nope i said im not suggesting anything. I pointed that article because you share some similarities with your online actions, you cannot deny that, its leaking everywhere :) im quite certain you are a very positive and likeable person outside of forums/chats, i always liked you on ventrilo/streams and pictured you as a cool guy, but ffs forum talk differences and stuff like that, you are so f@#!ing difficult/impossible, it doesnt work for you. As for me theres plenty of wrong i did and said in the past, however when it comes to the whole dispute about b2b im not alone with my oppinion, so that saves the day for me.

The second post doesnt even contain any specific point in time, which doesnt change what i said in the first post. I agree our disputes were often full of pointing out language barriers and not understanding eachother, and its another issue with you, endless misunderstandings, turning topic discussion into choose-better-words-fest kind of tactic, which led to one side getting bored of continuing it. It wouldnt be that bad if it wasnt notorious, and i assure you that there was no other person in my online life that caused so many problems of that kind in a discussion. You love to talk, you are overactive and you often go into unnecessary disputes for whatever reasons, a mix that explains actions without much thinking about it. Also check this (im not suggesting anything!): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_triad
