Announcements / Proposed courtesy rules
February 24, 2010, 06:42 PM
There have been a few threads so far about people's behaviour in the forums and during league games.
So far, all we've done is encourage good behaviour and hand out a couple of warnings.
So far, it hasn't changed much in how people behave towards each other, so it's time to have some consequences!

We're going to be starting with a penalty system on TUS. Moderators will be handing out warnings and penalty cards from this day forward. If people are caught misbehaving, mods will have the option of handing out a card. There are 3 cards you can collect: the yellow card, the orange card and the red card.

The yellow card is the first warning card. This will not have any consequences.
Same goes for the orange card, which comes after the yellow card. However, we will be watching you more closely after this.
The red card means a temporary ban; 2 weeks sound for the first time, a month for the second time and an entire season for the third time they get a red card.
Should you get temporarily banned, you'll come back without penalty card.

Every penalty also causes your karma to go down by 10 points.

How do you get rid of your penalty cards, you say?
If we don't have to warn you for an entire month (including minor warnings), you will step down (i.e. if you have an orange card, it will be changed to a yellow card and if you have a yellow card, you will no longer have it after a month)

There will be seperate penalty cards for leagues and forums; if people behave in league games, they should not be banned from playing league games if they're only misbehaving on the forums.

Please note that we are not interested in any feud you may have with other people on the forums! If you're baiting people for a flamewar, that's a penalty card.
If you take the bait, that's also a penalty card, no exceptions!
The forums are not for personal squabbles and if you really want to settle things, we suggest you use the PM function or msn or other messengers (or a motel room).

We won't be handing out warnings to people for disagreeing. Just be polite :)

Basically, on the forums, it boils down to this:
  • Do not make fun of other people.
  • Do not insult other people.
  • Do not provoke others into flaming.

In the leagues, it boils down to this:
  • Obey the rules of the schemes.
  • Do not insult your opponent.
  • Do not try to manipulate the outcome of the game with something other than gameplay.
  • Making baseless complaints

General discussion / Re: elite vs intermediate
February 24, 2010, 03:18 PM
In short?
Your post suggests that defending is harder in intermediate and attacking is harder in elite.

Hope that helps you out!

(PS: I don't play either scheme, so I wouldn't know)

I recently sent out tourney notices to all players and so far I've received replies from 2 people: NAiL and Thouson.

But guys, with such a short deadline, you need to arrange your games!
Use this forum to set a date and a time to get your games played like: I'll be in AG next saturday at 8:00 PM GMT.
If you can't make it at that time, then suggest another time.
Don't say you'll be in AG, because you'll be bound to play another game with someone else or you'll be idling on snooper and therefore not pay attention to whether your opponent is there.

Leagues Complaints / Re: oO! wtf? fake zippo in ag!

Congratulations, GoDiTo! That was your 200th post that contains the word "applaud"! :)

On a more serious note, I'm not so sure if having IP information in replays is useful, considering some people don't have static IPs.
I could suggest it to Cybershadow, though, but keep in mind that there's no estimated time of arrival for the next beta.

People should steer away from complaint threads if they have nothing to contribute to the actual problem. That includes you, NAiL, even though your dog shelter post made me laugh :)

Don't get me wrong too, Random00 :P I understood what are you writing. And thank you a lot, deserved for an applaud x) Well, I try my best, I want to make it good for all players. If there is any problem, just feel free to write here.

You could send them all a pm :) It does help in getting the games played (or at least, it did in other cups) and it helps weeding out people that don't really care about playing because they don't respond.

I've sent out a PM to weem4n and Warg.
Warg also replied:
QuoteIf you can please set me defeat. Anyway i don't want to play this cup more (no time).

I hope that helps, Dmitry!
I'll leave things in your capable hands again :)

No reason to play 3 games again along 3 guys

Doesn't that mean that first the group has to be finished?
I'm bugging the players with PMs. There's been too little activity here.
#5094
Ramires, set a deadline :)
Let your players know that the cup has started, because I'm not sure they know about it.

No activity at all here!

If you request a cup, you ought to see it through.

Let me know if you still want to finish it, otherwise, I think we're better off closing this one

Any news on am0kz vs surgeon?

Gentlemen, check your inbox!
Deadline is in 7 days and I would like to see this cup finished in time :)

TUS Discussion / Re: Tournaments?
February 21, 2010, 03:26 PM
Tournaments are dependant on people willing to host them, same as for cups and challenges and such.
Are there people out there willing to host tourneys on a regular basis for the different schemes?

Ray, there's a reason his reputation got this way ;)

Off Topic / Re: hearing

The wax is a reaction to you cleaning out your ears regularly.

Yeah, Rok, have a laugh :P wax doesn't build up that fast usually. All I read was sudden hearing loss, which means you should act fast or at least have a quick look if you can't find another explanation

Really, the worst place to ask this is the internet. People will just share their horror stories or come up with crazy guessed diagnoses.

Hope you're fine though, gl for friday  8)
