But some people are more right than others, right? :)

People who are in favour of hysteria staying where it is, think it's a competitive scheme (which it is)
People who are in favour of moving it away from classic think it's a dumb scheme because killing yourself right from the start is a viable strategy (which it is)

Solution: random turn order. Those that make the counterpoint that it makes the scheme very much luck driven have no clue how random turn order works and are wrong. It only makes the scheme luck driven if you still go on abusing turn order without paying any sort of attention to the actual turn order.
So if it were up to me, hysteria would have random turn order.

Hysteria
Quote4. What happened to random worm order in Hysteria?
I don't think I saw it in TUS, possibly give it more unpredictability, which here is useless.

Looks like someone didn't read the discussion on random turn order!

Random turn order isn't completely random - if you have 4 worms, then the next 4 turns will be randomized, but all your worms get their turn. After that is completed, a new batch of turns is decided in exactly the same way - all worms get their turns, but the order in which this happens is randomized.

Also, KRD, you mentioned you'd check out the cups I linked to, but appear to not have followed through on that :o

I held a poll afterwards about what people would prefer, I think it was half wanted to keep original, the others wanted random turn order. The people who generally oppose random turn order, I feel, didn't really understand how random turn order works, though. They keep saying it makes the scheme all luck, which certainly is not the case. It merely makes early suicide very unappealing, which was kind of the point of that experiment to begin with (and early suicide tactics is what makes a lot of people hate hysteria)

Are you and ropa having a contest about who's the most cynical? You're going to need judges

Final fantasy is also a popular speedrunning game.

I could give voice acting a try, might take a bit longer to get the right accent, though. I have a weird sort-of-Dutch accent when I'm not trying much, I can do a couple of them if I focus (right, Komo? :) )

If you watch speedruns for other games, you can see players break the game, sometimes spectacularly. It's the kind of thing that makes it possible to finish Legend of Zelda:LttP in about 3 minutes.
W:A doesn't have such game breaking mechanics (at least, to my knowledge), but there's certainly ways to break the AI of computer teams

I think it was Nail

There's a lot of things you could speedrun wise - you could race through a certain map pack (perhaps one author, perhaps some people could make a few 'official' packs)
You could do DM speedrunning, TCB challenges (perhaps the MrTPenguin maps), there's a weekly TTRR challenges you could do in a row.

Endless possibilities!

That would be MPH

Perhaps you could fix that by sending in replays this year :P 2 years ago, Xrayez' replays were glorious, but we only got to see them because he submitted them.

Have you tried auto-register associations in the advanced menu in WA?

They're up!
For any moviemakers out there, we still haven't gotten one for 2014 or 2015. Let us know you're working on it, though, so we don't have 2 people doing the same job :)

On another note, checking these replays was fun, but also took a lot of time - we had 445 replays submitted, but unfortunately, a lot of them weren't all that good. A couple of them even had turns where the damage was less than optimal instead of a big backfire or anything. The increase in replay submission did lead to more winners, so that's good, but please be more critical of replays. The site is called 'Worst Shot Ever', not 'Slightly Inconvenient Shots'.

Enjoy the replays!

that's probably me  :0
How did you count that? Did you check out the actual sender (IP), or just nicks of whoever performed the fail? I think I used three or even four nicks in here, so the actual number of replays I sent may be well over 150

(I think it's the time to say sorry for any disappointing turns?)

Were you So1dier and RedEyedCyborg? :) I saw only 3 replays with WTF-8
I counted them by selecting their replays and letting the transfer program do the counting. Those people sent in even more than iSlowpoke, and he was by far the most prolific last year (a couple of them did win awards, though, so it's not all bad)

Today is your last chance to submit replays for the 2016 awards!

444 replays so far, but a couple of people have sent in a lot of replays (one of them sent 75), so there's bound to be replays with disappointing turns in there as well. So don't think we don't need more!

Best wishes for the New Year and may your screwups in WA be spectacular :)

ofc that's what we hope, but do the numbers match if there's a report lol

If the éló system is used here, then yes :)
