I suggest you first finish that other cup that's still going on :)

Announcements / Deleted replays
April 29, 2012, 09:08 PM
That excuse will no longer be valid. Replays take up almost no space and even if you want to delete your replays, it's your responsibility to report your games before you format your computer and whatnot.
If you report a free win, because you can't find the replay for the game, bad luck: game will be voided.

Leagues Complaints / Scheme rules
April 29, 2012, 08:57 PM
Since a couple of people couldn't find the rules for the different schemes in quite a short time, here's a reminder: the scheme rules can be found on their respective pages on the schemes page.
That is all :)

Any time you're ready to play the rest, ArtiC

Isn't it bo3?
#106
They don't get much closer than this :) Good luck in the knockouts, Krezo!

Born to mole?

bo1? bo3? bo5? Might want to add that little detail in your cup details :)

bo3, apparently!

Announcements / Showcase 4
March 13, 2012, 06:23 PM
sc4teaser.png

It's time to get Showcase back on the road again!
After amazingly high quality submissions, Cueshark took the gold last time, but by no means was it easy! So far, Showcase has had a new winner every time around. Will it be you this time?

For those not familiar with Showcase, it's basically a movie tournament; people send in replays of their finest moments. Those are then put in a movie with the music of your choice and then it's up to the community at large to rate your submission :)
The first, second and third edition should give you an idea of what showcase is :)

If you want to compete, here's what you need to do:
  • Find awesome wormy moves. They can be hilarious luck or just incredible skill. EVerything is allowed, as long as they were your own turns.
  • The moments are not limited to just one replay; you can send as many replays as you like, as long as the total playing time is 30 seconds and not a second more
  • Send these replays to mvrooland@gmail.com and make sure that the filenames have a time in them, so we'll know where to start the replay (example: Auto throws petrol [15.40].WAgame )
  • Let me know which music you want to play: Mention the artist, the song and at which part (mention the time) your scenes should start
  • Please mention the order in which you want your scenes to appear and which effects you want added. Basic effects will be added, but note that the more complex your request is, the higher the chance it won't make the cut.

Apparently, something in the previous showcase told us this disclaimer is necessary: you're not allowed to use any third party program for your replays (except rubberworm). If you are caught trying to cheat, you run the risk of the other kids pointing and laughing at you!

For this edition, we have 6 7 8 10 13 15 17 21 24 26 31 33 signups :)
The deadline has passed and the video is up!

Announcements / TUS awards 2011
January 14, 2012, 06:23 PM
They're back, and sillier than ever! (or at least I hope so)
You probably still know the drill from the previous awards: we've set up a bunch of categories for you to vote for your top 3!
If you can't think of a third (or even a first or second), then you don't have to fill anything in, just give us the votes you're comfortable with :)

There have been a couple of changes though: some categories have been removed and some have been added (sorry, nino, no "biggest puto" award ;D) and instead of the forum solution I used last time, MI has made a nice page for this: https://www.tus-wa.com/awards/

Many thanks to MI and the many translaters (like Chelsea!) that have gone through the trouble of translating into their own respective languages :)

Let the voting commence!

As an afterthought: you can change your votes on that page if you choose to do so before the deadline ends.

Cups and Tournaments General / Cup activity
January 08, 2012, 06:39 PM
I've been handing out reminders here and there to try to get these cups going, but apparently, some people are impervious!
A while back, I kicked out OREL from all cups in which he participated, because he was slowing down a lot of cups (gave him a warning to actively arrange his cups and gave him a week time to just make a simple post about it in the cups where he played, but he didn't).
It did lead to an increase in cup activity, so it's time for round 2!

These are the people that are slowing down at least 3 cups due to not playing their games (note: if you have a semifinal opponent, but not all quarter final games are done yet, I'm not counting it as slowing down a cup):

Thouson: 6 cups.
Neo.X: 3 cups.
pizzasheet: 3 cups.

Thouson is the clear winner here. And in case of pizzasheet and Neo.X, an additional reason is of course that they're both playing in a cup that only recently started.

Thouson, you get one week to start arranging your games (that means on the cup forums, so I can actually see), or I'm kicking you out of every cup you're still participating in.

Announcements / Your pick/my pick
November 10, 2011, 11:06 PM
A couple of complaints have made it to our complaints forum, so there are a couple of things that need to be cleared up:

Summary:
  • Both players/clans need to agree on the map
  • If you light up, you agree on the map
  • Using auto-light up is strictly forbidden

Unsummarized:
If 2 games are played, each player (or clan) gets to pick the scheme.
The map is something that has to be agreed on by both players/clans. If you host your pick and your opponent doesn't want to play on the first map you pick, you have to change the map. Try to agree on a map with your opponent if he/she/they disagree with your first pick.
If you (the host) don't change the map when your opponent(s) says he/she/they don't want to play on that map, then your pick will not happen.

If you're not the host, clearly, you don't have to agree with the map. We don't want an unending fight about the map though: suggest your own map to move things along. If you are being unreasonable with your own map request, then the host is entitled to a free win because you'd basically be refusing to play his pick. Make an effort to agree on a map. If you light up, then that means you agree on the settings (scheme and map). If the host refuses to change map after you request another map, remind him of this rule. If he still refuses to change the map, then there's nothing more you can do. You can quit the game. If the host reports a free win, just make a thread on the complaint forum and attach the chatlog from the game lobby (in your User/Logs folder).

Auto-light up is strictly forbidden. If you use it, a couple of things are going to happen: if you lose the game, you lose the game. If use auto-light up and you win the game, the game will be voided. We'll be looking at logs for proof, so be clear in the game lobby and in the game chat at the start of the game.
Furthermore, using auto-light will earn you a warning at the first offense and a temporary ban at the second use. If the first ban doesn't teach you anything and you still use it, then you'll get a longer ban.

Leagues Complaints / READ THIS BEFORE POSTING
November 03, 2011, 05:49 PM
When you post a complaint, please help us with these guide lines. They will save us a lot of time, so we can solve complaints faster.

  • 1. Put the game page in the post (not the subject), so we can click it.
  • 2. Tell us the problem with as little words as possible.
  • 3. Tell us the time in the replay and which replay (if there are more than 1).
  • 4. Be polite. Don't start/continue flame wars.
  • 5. If someone reported a funner, post logs.
  • 6. Don't ask us to ban people.

Moderators may at some point decide to delete posts that don't contribute to the complaint at hand. If you find your post deleted from a complaint thread, please respect our decision to do so. If you disagree with the decision, please contact us through the PM system, rather than using that complaint thread for it.

@1: Example: https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/game-100/. If you put it in the subject, like here (https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/leagues-complaints/%28solved%29-http-www-tus-wa-com-leagues-game-169893-wrong-player-24449/), we can't go to the game page quickly.

@2 and 3: Example (BnG): My opponent did a sitter at 35:07 and he didn't skip his next turn.
Example (TTRR): My opponent says I didn't finish at 2:43, but I touched the finish. First replay was a draw, so click the second replay.

@4: Please be polite. We understand you may be angry or irritated because of a complaint, but that's not our fault. Insulting your opponent will not help you make your case.
Asking us to ban your opponent will not make any difference and in fact will force us to give you a warning (see this thread).
Don't fill the thread with flame wars. If you have a problem with someone, you can argue with them through the pm system: https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/pm/?sa=send
We don't want to have to wade through 4 pages of flamewars to see if there's something useful in any of the posts. We didn't sign up for that.
In fact, whenever we see a complaint with 4 pages, we tend to avoid those complaints.

@5: Logs can be found in your user/logs directory. It stores all conversations from game lobbies, for example: 2009-11-30 18.57.27 - #AnythingGoes - ßDarkone_cup - fenrys-che + DarkOne.log

@6: If you are asking for someone to be banned, then we will follow this thread: https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/complaints/regarding-ban-threads/
If someone does something that deserves a ban, we will discuss that whether you ask for a ban or not.

Announcements / Regarding ban threads (reminder)
August 24, 2011, 08:22 PM
Since these posts are popping up again, I'll just post it here, since people don't seem to remember.

Quote from: DarkOne on September 02, 2010, 08:32 PM
I think we can all agree we've had our fair share of "ban him!" threads.
But it ends now. Any post starting up a thread like this again will be deleted and the person to make such a post will receive a warning.
If this has no effect and you continue to make posts like those, you will be rewarded with a temporary muting.

Posting a thread regarding banning somebody will not result in a ban of that person.

Announcements / Project X 0.8.0 Released
August 16, 2011, 05:39 PM
I bet you've all seen previews of this cool addition to the world of worms :)

QuoteAfter many months of work, we are proud to present a new version of our W:A modification: Project X 0.8.0. We've come a long way from 0.6.5, so we hope everyone really likes what we've done this time round! Remember that PX is a powerful modification tool that anyone with the necessary skill can use. The stuff that we're releasing with this version is just an example of what can be done for the public to enjoy. Head to http://wormspx.com for more info on Project X (you will miss important stuff if you don't) and drop by our forums for any questions, comments, ideas, bug reports (if that section doesn't get flooded and drop) and so on.

Cheers
-The PX team

Download link :Here
The download package contains a few schemes to play along with their respective libraries and maps:
- PX CTF: Capture the flag and return it to your base. Heavy strategy - 3vs3 recommended, with one worm per team. Worms that die will respawn; the game will only end when one team successfully captures the enemy flag.
- PX RR: Interactive rope racing with special traps and obstacles.
- Glider Race: Use the Hangglider to reach the finish in style.
- PX Intermediate: Basic scheme played with PX weapons.
- Jump Race: Use the new jump ability to reach the finish.
Fog Of War: An additional mode that can be added to any game. The map is under a shroud of darkness, and players can only see what is within their worms field of vision. For CTF, the flag chambers are illuminated at all times.
More information about each gamemode here: http://wormspx.com/px080wiki/index.php/Gamemodes

We can't have experiments without results, can we? :) A while back, I started a cup to check if a new variation helped solve some of the things that are generally complained about.
If you didn't participate in the cup, please don't vote in the poll, I want a real representation of what cup participants think of the scheme :)

If enough people prefer the experimental scheme, I'll host another cup for more people at some point.
