Replays were rated on a scale of 1-10 :)

Basically, you got more points if you had few parts where you had to make (almost) pixel perfect jumps/shots (and were given only one chance to do so) and you get more points if you had parts where you had do a very hard move with the bungee or anything else that involves timing and ability to use the weapon. You'd get more points if you had more weapons unused in your effort to get to the end (excluding kamikaze, of course!)
I didn't factor in time. Also, if your solution consists of 2 seperate replays, you'll lose some points, though marginally :)

Personally, I don't think anything can top Mablak's replay, but just in case someone manages to do just that, I've left it at 9.5

I've asked MI to judge my own replay, since there's just no way I can judge my own replay objectively

I get bonus points for making Shirdel ragequit, right?  ;)

b2b / Hi!

Yay! We have a post here now!
#185
Haven't hosted one of these in a while!
And I think it's time for another tournament :) So I'm going to host one next weekend; Saturday 29th of may 18:00 (or 6PM) GMT.
Use http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc to see what time that is in your time zone.

The scheme will be timetrial but the format will be a little different.
The tournament will have preset maps for each round and there will be no pairings. Instead, everybody races at the same time and the best 50% will go to the next round.
#186
Cup will be approved once enough older cups are finished :) (the boomrace and shopper cup will be approved first, though)
#187
DT, perhaps you wouldn't think I'm the worst admin/moderator ever on worms if you read the bloody rules for a change.
Quoteif your opponent has used a weapon box 3 times, you must give your opponent a warning about this before the 4th time can occur

Have a go at this map then :)

(click image to go to the wmdb map page)

Mind: there's a scheme attached to this map. The map description is there.

Good luck to all who wish to try :)

TUS Discussion / Strike 2, Zippo
April 15, 2010, 08:57 PM
Apparently, the first warning had very little effect: https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/tus-discussion/zippo-you-are-on-the-edge/

It's apparent from pretty much all your posts you have little respect for other people, so a second warning is long overdue.
I'll have a little chat with MonkeyIsland if we should ban you without a third warning altogether, but if you continue to misbehave like this, we'll just skip the discussion and go straight to banning you altogether.

That said, a request to the rest of the community that can't help themselves: Stop feeding the trolls. It is the constant bitching at Zippo that has stopped me from doing this earlier.

4th replay: network drop after about 12 minutes while the score was 1-1.
Why is this reported as a win? Did you agree on it?
#191
If you've heard of him, then you know why: insulting opponents, spamming AG, quitting games.
You name it, he's done it.

If anyone sees Hargen continue this sort of behaviour, don't hesitate to let us know, either using PM or by contacting us in AG or IRC or wherever

All cups have their seperate stats, so you can easily check
If playoffs were needed for the group phases, then those playoff games were added as well.

Unfinished rounds have not yet been processed, since it'll complicate keeping track.

Some cups also took much longer to be completed than others and I didn't feel the need to include that.

I'm uploading this here so that future cup moderators can use this to remove people from cups who have a history of non-activity. I'm a firm believer in second chances, but if there's been little activity from your part in previous cups, then chances are high the same is true for future cups. Please note that someone who has played 75% of his/her games is still more active in cups than the average player.

I've updated the excel file to a newer version of excel because the older version was starting to run out of space on the sides :)[/list]

Cups and Tournaments General / New cups
    March 23, 2010, 08:05 PM
    'lo there,

Less cups are being played now, so there's room for new ones!
I'm gonna set up a new one for schemes that are played relatively less, but I need to know which scheme would be most welcomed.

    You can choose between these:

    • BnA
    • Boomrace
    • Bungeerace (Darkmaul)
    • Jetpack race
    • Moleshopper (van, Warg, Dmitry85)
    • Walk for weapons (doubletime) (with rules against sticking with one weapon box for too long)

in principal, I'm going to be hosting one cup, but if there's a close tie between 2 (or maybe even 3), then I wouldn't mind hosting more.
Let me know which one(s) you prefer :)

But if you're going to sign up, I'm gonna need you to do your best to get the games played! That means not signing up if you know you're going to be busy soon.

    Announcements / Proposed courtesy rules
    February 24, 2010, 06:42 PM
There have been a few threads so far about people's behaviour in the forums and during league games.
So far, all we've done is encourage good behaviour and hand out a couple of warnings.
So far, it hasn't changed much in how people behave towards each other, so it's time to have some consequences!

We're going to be starting with a penalty system on TUS. Moderators will be handing out warnings and penalty cards from this day forward. If people are caught misbehaving, mods will have the option of handing out a card. There are 3 cards you can collect: the yellow card, the orange card and the red card.

The yellow card is the first warning card. This will not have any consequences.
Same goes for the orange card, which comes after the yellow card. However, we will be watching you more closely after this.
The red card means a temporary ban; 2 weeks sound for the first time, a month for the second time and an entire season for the third time they get a red card.
Should you get temporarily banned, you'll come back without penalty card.

Every penalty also causes your karma to go down by 10 points.

How do you get rid of your penalty cards, you say?
If we don't have to warn you for an entire month (including minor warnings), you will step down (i.e. if you have an orange card, it will be changed to a yellow card and if you have a yellow card, you will no longer have it after a month)

There will be seperate penalty cards for leagues and forums; if people behave in league games, they should not be banned from playing league games if they're only misbehaving on the forums.

Please note that we are not interested in any feud you may have with other people on the forums! If you're baiting people for a flamewar, that's a penalty card.
If you take the bait, that's also a penalty card, no exceptions!
The forums are not for personal squabbles and if you really want to settle things, we suggest you use the PM function or msn or other messengers (or a motel room).

We won't be handing out warnings to people for disagreeing. Just be polite :)

Basically, on the forums, it boils down to this:
    • Do not make fun of other people.
    • Do not insult other people.
    • Do not provoke others into flaming.

In the leagues, it boils down to this:
    • Obey the rules of the schemes.
    • Do not insult your opponent.
    • Do not try to manipulate the outcome of the game with something other than gameplay.
    • Making baseless complaints

    TUS Discussion / Fair play?
    January 01, 2010, 08:16 PM
    'lo there,

I'm posting here cause of something that's been bothering me. It started out in the sheeprace cup (you can check the thread there, starting off with PiNK's post regarding FaD.
Now, if it just stayed with that, then that's just a one-time deal, everybody makes mistakes and the situation was corrected. No harm done.

But it's not a one-time deal. It's categorical manipulation of games and frankly, there's no place for that in W:A.
I have no problem with people playing W:A competitively at all, but if you're can play this game in a fair way, then I'm going to have a problem with that.
If TUS values fair play even a bit, then this kind of behaviour should not be accepted! Games should be decided by whoever has the best ideas and/or skills inside the game, not by whoever can cheat and lie their way out of losses or who can piss off their opponents best.

I for one have had enough of people like FaD that gladly make use of other people's hard work and give nothing but trouble in return.
Despite having hosted tournaments for RRkit and WMDB, despite having modded playoffs for fb, despite being a mod at TCB, I've never before met any wormer cause this many problems in just a few games. I have no intention of putting up with crap like this anymore though.
TUS is such a great site with so many challenges, leagues and resources and it would be very sad if people like FaD get the chance to f@#! things up. I for one, will not be a part of TUS any more if mods/admins don't take a stand against this kind of behaviour.

    So what's it gonna be?

Should've used a zook that first turn :-/ But well done, you never gave me a chance after that!

    TUS Discussion / DoN
    November 13, 2009, 12:40 AM
I already PMed MI about this here rule, but he asked me to post the suggestion here.

    Quote4) Proceeding

•First, you need to find a partner. Then you decide which kind of league you want to play: Classic or Free. Both of you have to pick one scheme and play those two games.
•Before the first game start, both of you have to tell what your username on the site is. Missing to do this might have your games infirmed.
•After you finished the games, and the games result is 1-1, you can agree on playing a third game.
•EVERY GAME MUST BE REPORTED! This means DoN (Double or Nothing) games are highly forbidden!

When I was browsing through some complaint threads, I saw several of them mentioning DoN was agreed. This is in direct violation of the rules above. The response by staff however, didn't show anything was going to be done about it, so I can see only 2 options:
    1) Remove the rule
    2) Start enforcing the rule

I'm not an active league player and probably never will be, but in all honesty, DoN undermines the system at work here, because DoN assumes that the players involved are equal. Rating however suggests this is not the case.

    Time for a discussion.

General discussion / Worms Showcase 2
    October 19, 2009, 09:54 PM
Perhaps the first edition is known already to plenty of you guys, but those that haven't heard of it:

Cueshark is starting up the second edition of showcase, so it's time to submit replays again!
This version will also be a replay tournament so to speak; everybody gets 30 seconds total to show off their most skillful and/or lucky actions while the music of their choice plays.
Afterwards, there will be a voting round (most likely on wormtube) to determine who wins the 2nd edition of showcase.
If you want to participate, just send your replays to Cueshark (cueshark@hotmail.com) en let him know what music you want playing in the background. Make sure the replay names include the playback time.

For those that already participated in the first edition, it's possible to enter again, but you're not allowed to use replays that have been used in the first edition.

Time to get cracking then! :)
