Top notch production value there, Komo :)
If there's one little bit of constructive criticism that I could give is that it maybe takes a bit too long to get past the basic chords, would've loved to have heard more of that second part.

Keep 'm coming!

As for editing, I don't need video, just an audio commentary and the source replay for the game should be enough to get me started.
This didn't record video for some reason, but have the audio.  Can you attach the audio to a video replay?

Thanks Marc

Send the audio on skype and I'll get right on it :) gotta finish stuff up at work, going home soon.

I got what you were going for, Charles :) Most of the more strategic schemes aren't exactly my strong point, though. That's why it would be great if other people would join in on this. You might even attract fresh blood to start playing this game.

Start hosting games and stream them while commentating. Eventually, guys will help you out and co-op with you. Like they did when CWT was going on.

Thank you for underlining my point there, Sensei :P

I like how this derailed after my post.

I think my PM conversation with Komo probably also played a part, but we'll call it the PoC effect :P If it leads to a resurgence, all the better.

You can't call ppl bunch of lazy f@#!ers while doing nothing and just putting ideas on paper.

Before you can start something with a group of people, you gotta put some stuff on paper, though.

I just read that thread again, just about all replies were "good luck" or "you might want to ask some other guy". There was only one person offering services to this and that was me. Which is kind of silly, since I'm a dinosaur of the game. All we need is for just one person to step up to the plate of picking a replay, watching it and recording commentary for it. I'll even do the editing for it, so people don't have to worry about the boring stuff.

People have been complaining that this game is dying and there's one simple reason for that - nobody does anything anymore.

When I posted my clan video, I got a PM from MI saying he'd found motivation to work on TUS again. Wally said it inspired him to restart his commentating stint (I'm still hoping for you to do that, buddy! Your commentaries are always entertaining and my offer to edit the video while you just record the audio commentary still stands).
It motivated OutofOrder to finish something that I'm hoping you guys will be able to see very soon. We'll have to wait for external factors, but it's very awesome.
Only one other person made a video these last 18 months and that's lacoste and we both hardly played at all  (or even not at all) this year. Couple of years ago, there were several people starting up projects of all sorts.

It would be nice that instead of

Hate to be skeptic, but more you ppl talk - less chance this streaming thing will ever see a daylight.

we'd be reading stuff like

Cool idea! There's a boomrace map I'd like to talk about.

Cool idea! There's an awesome darts game I could record commentary for if someone else can edit it.

It doesn't have to be a lot of work, but it would be fun if this community wouldn't keep relying on the same people over and over again.

I'm pretty sure Komo would still jump on the bandwagon despite his current frustration and I'd still edit commentaries if someone would step up to the plate (nobody needs to hear my noobish commentary).

Rant over, I'll let you get back to business.

You know, we were having a PM conversation where you just stopped!
I use sony vegas, so  that would be the only way I could give more than general tips

Maybe if more people will bother to vote. Still less than half the people that voted yes have done anything at all, even though it's better than it was.

Come on guys, fill that poll! The problem with today's w:a community is that it is very loud, but nobody are willing to do any exhausting, useful thing, only the same players over and over again.

ps. you don't need to fill everything, and you can also continue / edit it later

That. All of that.

To prove the first point, somebody already voted for a worms movie that doesn't even exist (yet?), because he's still waiting for somebody to start editing it.

57 people vote that they want it to come back, but so far, only 12 have voted.
Kind of a disparity there, guys!

This website begs to differ, but I guess I know enough now :p

Let's pm for the rest to not clutter up the thread

I would, Komo, but I still need a reply to the previous PM I sent you this week ;D

With regards to videos, WA promotion project had a youtube channel set up and ready to go, but as mentioned before, few actions taken afterwards. Either they could relinquish control of the channel, restart their efforts or a fresh start could be had (either entirely new channel or other existing channel).

To some people it might sound lame, weak, sad or pathetic, but for some reason everytime i've hit a low point in my life, this game and the people i've played with have helped me put things back into perspective.

Those people have other hobbies that sound sad and lame to me, like football  ;D Can't argue with taste.

You might want to hit up Khamski - I'm not sure if he's still interested in this, but I know after/during the last couple of CWT editions, he was talking about plans to take streaming to the next level. He also tried his best to update his streams (last couple of streams, for example, he added icons on the screen depicting the weapons people used in any particular round) and the quality of streams was always good. Commentating was also great, especially if Wally joined us. That man is a commentating machine.
Who knows? Finding a kindred spirit instead of lazy people like me could fire him up to up the ante with regards to streaming even more.

I'm suggesting this because Khamski doesn't frequent TUS, but of course, I can't speak on his behalf.
I've also linked Kayz (another CWT streamer) to this thread, up to him whether he sees anything in this to work for :)

As for editing videos, what kind of stuff do you have in mind? I'm busy editing my 4th, but I'm going slow again for that, probably doesn't help that I don't really have a deadline in mind :) Perhaps having some other regular editing to do will motivate me more to get the big project going, too.
