General discussion / Re: The Rotated League
December 19, 2011, 06:05 PM
Sounds unlikely it'll work imo because:

1) imagine a player goes away/has their pc busted/etc/etc, for a season, does he get relegated? Does he relegated only for that scheme? If someone is relegated f.e. to the 3rd division in wxw, and he's great in elite (next season) will he be in 3rd to start with and then go up to 2nd, only to be relegated again perhaps in another scheme next season?

2) dreaded "activity" issue. As Random said (among other things), there are players on TUS who play only in one league cause they cant afford the time to play a 2nd (trl, cups, tourneys etc), now guess what will happen if a totally new site is introduced on-top of the well-established TUS where 95-or-so% of all WA players are registered on...

These are my first thoughts, I'm only saying negative things cause those will be the issues imo. I like the "Primera Division", "Secunda Division", etc idea XD after all, we only have our worms ranks to brag about in rl dont we? :D

So to re-cap:
1) classification issue
2) activity

Lets see how the pole goes

PS: Mind you, the classification issue stands imo for TUS TRL as well, so dont worry too much I guess, still, there has to be a way to make it work

I'd really understand this if we were talking about intermediate or something but considering that by the time you really need to remember the turn order in most games your opponent has 3 or less worms I cant really see how thats's difficult to memorise by simply remembering the positions of worms on the map that have played and the ones that havent.

as for graves etc dont make me laugh -.-  if you're aware that shit like this might happen you make a mental note and play on, like you do in roper when you set off to get a crate, lets not make a huge deal out of something thats not :/

that's my opinion ofc

Well, I decided to play a bit again and here's another 26' (last rope grab at 26.15, and then surrender)

in case the first one is not widely accepted as correct or whatever (see comments above) :)

Still huge improvement is possible but with 25mins of play time for a successful run (+god knows how many other failed ones that can happen before) the stars must align to achieve a ~24min run that's the pretty much the humanly possible

1) You did 47, not 46
2) I did 46, not 47
3) I did 45 on last worm XD

Desetroyah, on your points you made:

1) In these cases, we ask for rm.
2) That's how the game goes. If you have no hide to goto, you're screwed! that doesn't mean you teleport in a near distance.

If the map is bad, you have to start your argument before the game or when the game starts so that you can rm the game. You played the game however it was and then forced your solution.
I'm no BnG expert, my vote is to do a rm with health points at where the previous game got flawed. (138 hp and 34 hp). However I'll ask other mods on this.

a rm on the same map with same hides or a new map? its impossible to reconstruct the old map

PS: am I not right about the absurd initial position though? Forget we didnt rm instantly, just wanna see your opinion

damn... that was perfect :/

You can try by extracting the map from replays... I did it that way once and it worked out well.

This map has annoying parts, sigh, wish I could have a better time but I don't have patience now... -.-

Yeh, extracting worked, everything else brought an error message.

eh, missed a nice 27 here despite the slow fly  :(

EDIT: ffs XD missed a "large" 25 with that extension :P !!! 27.62 @2:40  and next worm 27.34...

heh, from a tough map to a chilled one huh :)

for some reason when I tried to play the map it said "invalid map"

any ideas anyone?

you had a tiny map and placed your worm at the beginning in the middle, dude. I know my left tele was too close but the whole thing was just bad, so:

1) your map had no hides on the right
2) you left no space to go to in the right side and I couldnt go anywhere else,

you started a bad game and lost in a bad way, live with it.

Yes, I admit that the map is way too annoying. :d

I'm willing to even submit a time with a fall before that uphill climb :P then again, I'm not as good as you guys heh

I was going to highlight that turn :p. I was a bit surprised, usually my plans don't work.

oh come on, no way you can plan this after 2 sg shots, those worms could've finished anywhere! gj, but lucky ;)

Those are not insults!! Pure passion. Believe me, play with boro, the second he starts insulting you, you'll be filled with love and laughter ;D

I know, also, you'll know you're winning XD
