Leagues General / Cow Rule Change in WXW
November 06, 2011, 11:39 PM
In this game  https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/game-90747/msg94620/?topicseen#new  it became obvious to me that the current official  rules on skipping after a cow are simply not fair since the shape of the game can change totally and the punishment is not nearly enough for the player that broke the rules.

I say "official" since it is true, as MI said, that the rules of wxw state that a cow only means that next turn can have no attack from the "cower's" side, however I have never played against anyone who hasnt simply skipped the next turn utterly and completely, which is the fairest possible thing to do.

For those too bored to watch the game lemme just describe what happens:

MI has no time to touch last wall and attack so the zooka he throws hits my worm square bullseye. So, he:

-broke the rule and attacked a worm for max damage (ofc by mistake but the facts remain), then continued and
-piled carefully(!)
-played next worm normally+safely to get the crate (!) and
-piled again safely the minute he was uncovered (!).

I express my amazement even though its "what the rules say" since the things described above arent really a punishment of any kind since:

the turn he "skipped the attack" he made up for the cow he made in a turn where shouldnt've been ANY damage, so

I propose that the rule of wxw on cow is changed officially, so to make the game fairer, i.e.

The player breaking the rules, SKIPS COMPLETELY the turn after his cow

Sounds fair? Since TUS 2 is soon to come out I propose a vote on this and ask you to write your thoughts if you think I'm not making sense.

ok, so please tell me if this is right:

1)MI cows by hitting me without touching last wall,
2)he piles me on the same turn, and then
3)he collects next crate and
4)piles again!

I somehow think this is not right since:

1)he inflicted damage he shouldn't have
2)he hid safely
3)played next turn safely, got crate!
4)and piled again making me having to play a proper turn the minute I've been wrongfully attacked!

I mean, he attacked with a full zooka when he shouldn't have and then took crate and hid so what's so bad about cowing if you can do it and take crates and hide in the next turns?!

I  know these are the rules but in this case they need revising -.-

I mean, whats stopping you from achieving a massive cow-attack and then saying "sorry", hiding and getting the crate in the next turn with a safe hide? :/

no offence MI, but I think it kinda sucked in this case :(

Leagues Complaints / [SOLVED] Double post of game

Game #88527 was uploaded twice by mistake, me and Scorpus played only 2 wxw in dif maps, so pls keep only one of the first 2 (as uploaded) replays.

Thanks and sorry

hehe gj Dark

@Rok: when your worm is past the stage where it can fall safely (ie will take damage) its turn is ended and it does not interact with the crates as such but merely as terrain :) learned it playing the last WA training mission with ropes and crates :p

I came up with the Theory of Irrelativity which states that:

D=(S^2)xTxFxU

where:

D= the size of the man's penis
S= the amount of smites he has on TUS
T=the
F=f@#!
U=up

As we can all see, the more the smites, the bigger the penis, who would've thought!!

After this, I wanna try another theory that says that if you go enough on the negative karma you reset back to PLUS INF and get close to Chuck Norris, so

SMITE ME DAY AND NIGHT and tell your friends to open a tus account to smite me too! lets test the damn mathematics :D

NOTE: start of experiment--->+9 karma

Hey all,

I'm one of the relatively new ppl here and I could be wrong but I havent seen this issue being raised anywhere so I'm going to throw an idea.

We're all familiar with the whole applaud/smite function. It is a good way for ppl to easily recognise who's been generally sensible (being generally liked or "liked" for one post doesnt make you sensible but moving on) and who's not.

However, most ppl online are cowardly enough to simply smite something because someone wrote something different than what they did and thats when the issues begin.

In my opinion lifting the anonymity factor out of this suddently will make everyone responsible for what they vote "for" or "against" and that way:

-they will think twice before voting either way
-their opinion will matter
-they can show their support, disapproval without necessarily writing whole essays or even write anything at all, hence decreasing the amount of clutter in the forums.

{  I am aware that in order for this to happen a bit of work will be required from MI so even though this suggestion is unlikely to be wildly accepted and perhaps materialise I would like to show my appreciation for his work anyways. Gj man :)  }

It'll be essentially like the Facebook "like" system, i.e. if there are too many "smites" or "applauds" most of the names could be revealed in a small pop-up or something (just a suggestion)

So what do you think?

Just dropping in to say that the challenge is going on normally now but because I'm re-installing (again) worms, I'm having some technical difficulties atm. That shouldnt be stopping anyone from posting their times since I'll be checking your replays asap.

hf

EDIT: haha, on the 4th run on the map I did 9.42, classic :)   I dont have much time though, exams... unless I do something special you'll win this one f4st :)
