Leagues General / Next scheme for TRL
April 30, 2011, 03:54 PM
We have enough time to gather vote for the next scheme of TRL. Also to inform people to TRL is a rotated league not Roper league.
Except Elite all other classic schemes are there. It is possible for Roper to get picked again.

Please note that the vote result will be the next scheme. Also note that you can vote 2 schemes and you can change your vote anytime.

Cheers

TUS Discussion / Donations
March 24, 2011, 07:02 PM
I always hated websites which force you to register just because you wanna read one forum post or you wanna download some files. So in creation of TUS I made it open to everyone as much as it was possible. TUS is created to improve this game in many aspects free of charge and will continue to be the same way.

Since these years of hosting TUS, I've had donation offers but because of some technical problems I couldn't put any donation link which is available now.
Please note there will be no difference between members who contribute donations to this site or not. You won't be skipping any rules. All site rules apply to its members no matter in what "membergroup" they are.

As a thank you for your donation, you will be put into a new membergroup and you will be able to choose any custom color you want. (limited amount of time, depending on how much you donate)
*Don't forget to mention your TUS name in the comment of your donation!

If you'd like to donate, please PM me.

It seems like some people have confused the concept of tournaments with the way cups work. I'll try to explain the tournaments.

Like any other tournament you have seen on WN, TUS tournaments works the same. It means that when a time for a tournament is set, people gather at that time in a specific channel, and play their games. You don't have to find your opponent to play your games, because everybody is in channel at the time of the tournament.

Now in most of the tournaments other than TUS, there's a mod in channel which players will pm their name to. The mod gather the names, pair them with a pairing tool program and then announces the pairs in the channel.
on TUS tournaments, each tournament has a page, so when the time of the tournament has come, instead of sending PM to the tourney mod, you simply visit the tournament page and click on "join" button. This has many benefits such as:

  • No one will bug the mod to ask him questions like "Players list?" or "Am I in? did you get my pm?" because everything is getting recorded in the tournament page on TUS. So the only thing mod does at this stage is to announce that tournament url in the channel.
  • No one will get faked because you need to be signed in on TUS to be able to join the tournament.

After the players has joined, the mod clicks on the pair button and the system pair the players randomly. Again people do not need mod to announce the pairs, because they can visit the tournament page to see who's their opponent. Benefits:

  • Players can clearly see their way through the tournament.
  • Mods can't cheat with pairings. TUS pairing system is automatically doing the job.

After you play your first game/round, you visit that tournament page and report the game. when you're done reporting, you tell the mod, so that he/she can proceed you to the next round. Benefits:

  • Replays doesn't get lost. Because you report them right after the game.

At this stage the mod's job is to proceed players to the next round or deal with their possible complaints.

Announcements / TUS Tournaments released
March 20, 2011, 11:00 AM
Dedicated to darkmaul and RoH clan. :)

As I had mentioned before, tournaments will use the Cups engine since a tournament is simply a cup without groups stage. When your tourney starts, the only thing you gotta do is to give people your tourney page. They will simply visit that page and hit the "join" button exactly as we do in Cups. You can read how tournaments work here.

darkmaul will be the global moderator of tournaments as he was the founder of TuT, so approving tournaments will be in his hands.

This is a quick and small release of tournaments and it is supporting only 1vs1 games. In the next update of cups, all the features that had been discussed will be added.

Cheers

Announcements / New plan for leagues started
March 02, 2011, 12:16 AM
Along with classic league season #19, TEL #3, the new league plan suggested by HHC started. This new league plan affects TRL and free league as well. There will be no changes in TRL by this new plan since TRL is in its first season and player's seasonal and overall points are the same.

Please note that now we have 2 kind of points getting calculated: Seasonal and overall. You will see these points in the system like this: (74|45), the first number is the seasonal amount gained and the second is the overall.

Cheers
Please report any bug.

Announcements / TRL started
February 03, 2011, 10:59 AM
Here's come TRL but it doesn't stand for TUS Roper League. It stands for TUS Rotated League. People have asked me for separate leagues for T17, TTRR and hysteria. Since that is not possible to have, I made a rotated league. But we'll stay on Roper as long as there are enough players/activity on it. If activity decreased, we'll make a poll for the next scheme.

Whatever the new league plan goes, it may affect TRL as well.
Please report any bug.

Announcements / Write leagues system from scratch
January 31, 2011, 05:27 PM
Hello.

Personally I think TUS leagues system needs a few tweaks. But I feel many people need a brand new system to shake things up and get active again.

There are 29 days left for the current classic/TEL leagues to finish and I'm trying to run the new leagues system straight after that. So, I'm putting every idea on the table.

I'll accept league plans till 23th February so that in the next remaining days I have time to code the ideas.
If you're suggesting a new plan make sure to think about what would you do about the current players stats.

The best idea or combination of the ideas will start from new season.
This is HHC's plan, please read it (long text, but won't bore you)

You may post in this thread for discussion.

Announcements / TUS is back on.
January 22, 2011, 11:00 AM
Hello,

My big apologies.
TUS has a serious internal problem. I've been working on it for the past 2 days and have recovered 60% of it.
For now the leagues and cups are disabled. I'm trying to get everything back in next 12 hours.

TUS is back on like it was.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

TUS Discussion / Selecting your favorite boards
November 27, 2010, 09:43 AM
This is a little feature, so I didn't put it in announcements.

In "Customize your homepage" page, you can now select which boards of the forum you want to have their recent posts on your home page. So that you can uncheck the boards you dislike ...
