Also something to consider: ties may have a suspense factor, but they always favor the better player, and the larger the margin of error in times we consider draws, the more it favors them. Suppose you have an 82.5% chance of winning, and 17.5% chance of losing against a particular player. Then suppose a rule creates a 5% chance of a draw, and let's say the probabilities go to 80% chance of winning, 5% chance of drawing, and 15% chance of losing. In actuality, we might not subtract 2.5% from wins and losses evenly, but I think this works assuming both players have similarly shaped normal distributions of their times.
This 5% chance of drawing implies playing another game, so you could rephrase it as "5% chance of (80% chance of winning, 5% chance of drawing, and 15% chance of losing)". Or to just focus on the winning percentage, it becomes .8 + .05(.8 + .05(.8...)), which can be written .8 + (.05)*(.+ (.05^2)*(.
+ (.05^3)*(.
+.... This is just a geometric series, .8*(summation from n = 0 to infinity of) .05^n. You might remember learning at one point that a geometric series reduces to 1/(1-r), where r is the ratio. So this sum is equal to .8/(1-.05) = .8421, so the real winning ratio is 84.21%.

Just a note: 1ms = 1/1000s. WA shows only hundredths of seconds (1cs = 1/100s). So 34.56 = 34 seconds and 560 milliseconds, but not 56ms. So be careful with calling it "ms"Wiki

Is it wrong if I prefer private messages through the site rather than using the Meeting-Point topic? I'll always send a Bcc to both Random00 and SPW. I prefer that because I get email notifications about private messages and also, you cannot miss that. :{

Nah, there's been times with much more competition and more contenders. In WL, from the top of my head, whilst HoS kind of dominated there were plenty of other top clans to today's 3: t5x, eif, susuii, dwi, bS, CoN, AC etc etc.
The very fact that you say HoS dominated back then totally negates your argument that there was more competition and more contenders.

A new feature will be there! Its a prediction game! You can give your votes before every round to earn some points. A direct hit (f.E. 3-1 win from A) gives you 3 points. The right winner 1 point. After 19 rounds top 1 player will get $20, second best $10. So sponsoring rises to $400.
You cant play rounds beforehand without contact a Moderator. Only current games are open to report and its not allowed save replays by playing earlier. If you have a problem by organize a date with your opponent, contact a Moderator. We dont accept old replays and reports.
Right after a round starts, you have to contact your opponent about possible times to play. Do this at the "Meeting Point-Thread" at beginning. If you wanna pm your opponent too, just send it with a copy to Random00 or me. We decide very consistently and taking all possible facts to be on the right side. Its better you just play all your games in time and dont wait until the very last day if its not necessary. Avoiding and dodging isnt an attribute of an ea-member!
As I said yesterday, soon you'll get a private message with all the important facts.
And note: For first round there is only a small window to give your votes in the prediction game. So be awake!
I love this predictions game! Would be better if we all had an amount of fake money at the start and odds to bet.
