Quote from: NAiL on October 31, 2009, 03:46 AMI really dont think hurren knew you could not repeat a pick.

Sorry, but I find this hard to believe. He's been playing worms long enough to know that.

And I'm pretty sure you knew that, Nail, so I wonder why you even let the 2nd RR begin.

Hm. Should've expected this to get messy  :-X

Thanks Twyrfher, this sheds a completely different light to this whole deal. Mods will discuss it, stay tuned.

Solely changing the base amount of points is rather a cosmetic thing. Does it matter if it is 40-40, 15-15, or 100-100? I don't think so, but you can prove wrong.

What matters is how rapidly the difference between points for winner and points for loser changes.
It's probably hard to understand what I'm talking about so here's an example :) :

40-40
39-41
36-44
33-47
30-50
etc...

Now just changing the base amount:

25-25
24-26
22-28
20-30
etc...

This is basically the same, you reach the minimum of 1 point for a win (and maximum of 49 for a loss) in the same amount of games. Bear in mind also, that if you change the amount of points moving between games, you'd also want to reset the stats of all players, since the existing ratings don't tell the correct picture anymore.

But you can tweak the k factor in ELO formula (Monkeyisland will probably know what that is) and change the amount of games one needs to win in order to reach minimum of earned points, so you get something like this:

40-40
39-41
35-45
32-48
30-50
29-51  <-- notice the change being smaller from here on
28-52
27-53

Hope this made any sense :)

Hmm... Maybe deleting the game should not be the solution, if it was the first time, then Gonzo should be warned... My opinion.

Imagine a cop giving a sack of weed back to you when you tell him you haven't smoked before. :D

Reporting late is tolerated if your opponent didn't play (report, to be more precise) any games of the same scheme between the time you played with him and the time you reported. This is to ensure proper rating changes, since those depends on players' ratings, which vary from game to game. This doesn't mean you can report 2 days late though, better stick to the 1 hour limit to avoid complaints :)

In this case nothing happens, game stands. Thx for concern.

Leagues Complaints / [SOLVED] Gonzo vs Dub-c, roper
October 29, 2009, 03:43 PM
Dub-c won the game 10433 (replay attached to the post).

Then in this game: https://www.tus-wa.com/leagues/game-10434/ Gonzo asks for a decider and to let the winner of it report all three games.

DoN and similar agreements are not allowed in TUS. Therefore, game 10433 is deleted. Dub-c can report the game he won.

This doesn't seem like a win to me...

or do u mean this "7 girders" scheme?  I downloaded the Team17 scheme from this site in Dec. 08 and there was only one Team17 scheme which had inf. girders and a green checkmark next to it

Meanwhile another one was added (yeah, the "7 girders" one") and there's a forum topic somewhere which says it's official.

So, You think the only problem with reseting is the probability that a good player reset and tease others?

Yes. + that such player avoids getting his skill evaluated correctly.

EDIT: Yeah, Ray, but do those players even need to do that?  :)

And fb also let people choose between two variations (7/unlimited). I never play with 7, unless my opponents requests that. Which hasn't happened yet :)
