there was a guy on worms2 back in the day... i was young... probably 13?? maybe even younger, who knows... i remember he was at least 40, and very possible older then that even...  that was very close to 20 years ago, so this guy is probably 60 years old... he is not the guy who taught me to rope, that was AeropeR, but he did warm with me as i learned, and would help me with moves, and help me get better, etc.

so i learned some rope skills from a now 60+ year old man.. haha never thought about that until now, thanks for the memory sensei

the reason i bring up that story, is because he had a cool name.. w2 allowed ascii.... his nick was ì>åncïng«w/»Wølvès

or something like that, obviously i cant think of the exact ascii, but i though it was a cool name.

Akuma, Gundam, Goukan, Elmdor, Setnom, GrapplinGHooK, avatar, clownpatrol, §*ñâtch (the DC & CS of w2.. i think i heard rumor he got some federal prison sentence for hacking some big company... dunno if there any truth to it) oBlivion.... thats all for now... those are all w2 guys that i thought had cool names...

almost all w2 players had very original names...  like Mablak, and Korydex-   i agree w/ gijo, kory has one of the coolest nicks on wnet ;DD

do you think for example 10 small, maybe 3-4 person clans has more potential to increase clanner activity??

or do you think less clans.. example 5 clans, with 6-10 people per clan has more potential for increased activity??

as i said above, i really think larger clans is the answer...  who really cares if your playing the same clans more frequent... at least it would most likely be different people each time... and the fact of the matter is, when your online with a clan mate of your own, your going to have increased chances to find a clan that is also online with at least 1 other clan mate.

a bunch of small clans at first thought seems like a great idea, but if anyone actually thinks about it, i think they would quickly realize it would decrease the chances of not only having a clan mate of your own online, but also finding a clan that has 2 members available when you do.


so, what is other peoples opinions?? and if you disagree with me, lets hear some reasons why..  maybe you can change my opinion.

but, i do think something has to be done... clanner activity is going down hill, and we need to figure out a way to turn that around.


i really think some of these smaller, less active clans should merge together... make a bigger clan so you can actually play clanner...

example: chelsea, when is the last time you were on wnet, and had one of your clan mates online??? how often does that actually happen???  and when it does, is it easy for you to find a clanner???


say what you guys want about dt having a wopping 6 members playing clanners, but maybe we are on to something?? maybe others should follow our lead    notice we generally have most games played? just sayin'

but that does not mean nino should be included in a semi active list of dt.

he played 2 clanners, because i keep in touch with him on whatsapp, and from time to time i can get his ass to AG.

maybe you guys should start worrying about your own clans, and not dt... dt stays active, and keep members, because i put a little effort into keeping everyone together, and promoting activity in the clan.... and when things get slow, i recruit... or someone else in the clan recruits.

if i sat back and did nothing, because some people here think dt has too many members, then dt would be just as slow as other clans.


my honest opinion is slightly bigger clans is a better solution then smaller clans, but nobody puts any thought into, they just spout out ideas with no logic...

think about it, komo wanted to make a new clan to promot activity.. sorry, didnt really do much... now those guys just have a hard time finding a mate online, and when they do, they have a hard time find a clan that has a mate online....

and you want to make clans smaller, so there is less chances to have mates online???  does anyone see where im going with this..

times have changed people...  we are not going to have a variety of having 10-20 different clans to play with any more...

maybe if Oo merged with sL and tdc merged with  NBR  we might have some activity on the league... then we will have Oo/sL,  tdc/nbr,  dt, boo, cfc....   might be playing same clans, but at least a variety of players...

when dt plays Oo... its ALWAYS same 2 guys... when dt plays tdc, the same... 

merge up if you guys wanna do something for clanner league.... because i honestly dont think smaller clans is the answer.... maybe if everyone was super active, sure... but its 2017, not 2002...    sorry guys! spleen, again.. go join a clan.

I too have been in search of old players (old w2 ropers for www.wormsroper.con) I'll tell you what has helped me.

1) youtube videos about roping.. it's possible someone your looking for replied, and you can contact them that way.

2) going onto your old AIM account, or MSN account... I have found 1 or 2 guys on AIM, I was glad to find any to be honest, because no one uses AIM any more.

As far as your MSN goes, there is no longer MSN messenger, in order to contact people through that. But if you sign into Skype with the email you used to sign into MSN messenger, it will sync all your MSN contacts to Skype

3) you can make a facebook account with the email that you used for MSN and ask your contacts from MSN will be shown on facebook, recommending who you may know' or whatever...

4) the way back time machine can be a big help, finding old clan sites, some will have wormers emails, and/or links to other worms web sites for you to search for emails.

5) if they have signed up for TUS, I would most definitely start there. A simple PM to the specific person usually will send a email to them letting them know they have a message on TUS. So even if they have not been active @ TUS in years and years... chances are you'll still be able to contact them.

6) don't forget, with each person you find, to ask them if they have any other contacts! Hopefully if you can only find one or two guys yourself... a snow ball effect will find the rest.. good luck.

from his first post, i thought that he was making a mod, that will let you enter computer controled teams into an online game...

i thought that it might be a cool little feature.. not really sure what that would be good for off the top of my head.. but im sure someone would come up with some cool scheme, or idea where that might be useful.

i went to his house to play w2, until he got sick of w2, and let me barrow w2 for a little while.

i forget how long he let me barrow w2, but with in that time period, i convinced another wormer to send me a burnt copy of his game via mail.... im pretty sure the deal was that i send him 5 dollars on pay pal... i told him i would transfer the money after he sent the game... do you think he ever seen that money??

but, he did send the game..

i smiled.
