I dunno, my personal feeling is seasons should be as separate as possible.
so I'd say in the future, try to complete the set of games before season ends, and if not, try to come to an agreement.

at this point, I'd just let it go and let it be something to learn from.
otherwise I don't even know if MI can insert games played into a previous season.

the rule wasn't added before they failed the deadline, so it came down to whether or not it was fair to punish after the fact for something that just became a rule.
