Leagues General / Re: Checking times in RR

wow, this was way more polarizing than I thought when I was the first reply to this thread.
I was all for just using exact times always (well, as exact as replays allow) in all games, 2v2 and 1v1, but as we can see 8 pages later, many are vocal for keeping ties, (at least for 1v1 mainly).
So I'll adjust my stance: all 1v1 stays the same except when both players agree to use exact times before starting. This seems fair, as there's definitely many who still like playing again after ties (or just don't want to check), and it allows the chance for two people who like exact times to meet.
as for 2v2, I feel the opposite should happen, due to the obvious flaw of a team being 1.96 slower yet still winning. We let this slide in 1v1 because it's only ever a maximum of 0.98 between two players with a possible tie. In 2v2, there's no excuse to let this increase to 1.96 where not only does it introduce possible ties, it also introduces possible slower teams winning when they should 'tie' or even LOSE. all 2v2 should use exact times except when both clans agree to use whole seconds before starting.

If we go this route, I would just prefer every game be judged exactly, 2v2 and 1v1, but yea I do notice and have noticed this distinction about 2v2 being slightly more complex due to the team nature of rr clanner. A team score that seemingly wins can actually lose when including fractions.

Leagues General / Re: New point system?

ropa, there's no reason ckc should avoid cf in your example. ckc still has tons to gain since CF still has high overall rating, and the only reason CF loses little is because their season has only just started and CKC has a strong overall rating --> they haven't earned anything yet, so their seasonal performance is low and takes smaller hits vs strong clans.
everyone has to earn their season rating, and playing strong clans is generally encouraged, especially early in the season. (this had been discouraged in previous system, so this is seen as a big improvement).
guys it's early in the season and no one is even close to nearing the minimum games for playoff spots. once that comes closer, you'll notice each of those clans losing way more compared to early. In the end, everyone still needs to earn their seasonal performance. It's up to you how you chose to get there.

that's not what happens, fenrys was already kicked out for you to proceed Phanton, so you currently play gabriel.
you can personally let fenrys play gabriel if you want to let him take your spot, but fenrys vs you is not on the table, that already expired over the first 20 days.

on flat maps, unanch doesn't change much for notching, except a few darkish hides like ropa mentions. elite style maps with unanch is definitely a different beast, lots more possibilities on these maps.

avirex has done this before, but even more extreme, kind of as a mock to his opponent. still, it's normal competitive gamesmanship, whatever it takes to win. you plop all 3 worms, expect their 3rd worm to go as safe as possible ;p

it's not exactly 100% anonymous either. you can see who is online peeking at the 'Users Online' at the bottom of the TUS homepage.
It was a kinda fun feature back when I last saw it used around 2005 with ESL/GIGA, but I don't see it being an end-all be-all fix to anything really. like ropa says, the current asking system through AG seems to be healthier and more flexible for worms community needs.
