And today I'm going to share an old build that I got with the help of others.

This is the build I just got. It's still warm. And this will probably be the last build I'll be able to share. Because new builds you can't find it anywhere else now.

I'm writing about a feature I discovered in this build.


1st feature is Worms2.exe, which in very previous builds(2001/Dec builds) allowed single player play without connecting to a server.

Unfortunately, this feature does not work in the current build. Because this is a build that the developer has blocked.


2nd features, We've reached new content! There are many exclusive maps. You may be seeing this for the first time.

There are many maps that use data\Level\korea terrain in particular.

And compared to maps from other builds, some maps have subtle a difference that you might pass by without noticing. If you look closely at the maps of Land 8, 12, 15, they are clearly another maps.


3rd features, Is there a way to check the rank images? It may be that there is an exclusive rank image. Example: Golden Dragon with Clouds, Winged snake

It's been a while. I don't know if anyone is still interested in this game, but I thought I'd report it. I found OW's two old builds and I wanted to share them with you.

OW before 2002/Jan/30 build (17.4mb) / OW near 2002/Mar/23 build (19.2mb)

Features include older shortcut icon and older bgm. And at least 2 old maps. (landrand.dat, landsolo.dat)

Finally, I have a question. Does anyone know how to use maps from older builds in the OW addon package? I think I saw this scene on an internet video a long time ago.

That is interesting, I haven't seen such a version. I suppose you mean ReSolution (because the compat patch itself should work fine on any version).
Your EXE indicates a timestamp of 04/02/2002 05:13:50, which is roughly a year later than 05/14/2001 15:32:59 of the European version.

This will need looking up all the differences between EU and this for ReSolution to work.

What I really needed was only the fix.
Running the only fix in my language 1.01 puts the frontend in windowed mode. And I can't select the menu.

This will be the same if you run the my wwp.exe+only fix from your WWP setup folder.

When running frontend in fullscreen, I will be able to select the menu.

And timestamp of 04/02/2002. Because Korean WWP was released around April 2002.

I found another build. OW 2004/Feb/13 Chinese build.(41.5mb)

I think there is a OW 2004/Aug Chinese build with 44 maps somewhere.

wasetup.exe(118.1mb) is W:A with user maps & Chinese UI graphics.
WWPAC_setup.exe(53.7mb) is old build. Files to the Recycle Bin.

Is there a way to use it in 1.01 my language?

The problem is that we only have the "small" Korean edition of the game. The newest version I think is China, but the server tool does not specifically support that one (yet). The biggest one that we are missing is the Chinese WWPA (wwpacsetup.exe) which is gone from all archives.

That reminds me, I still haven't finished extracting the 38 WWPA Mission maps. They were in combined mission archives (scheme + map + something else all in one). It is pretty easy to extract with a hex editor, then open the IMG in Worms Armageddon to resave as PNG.

I could look into it again if I have more free time in the future. If you have any extra installers that we don't, please share them with me as well.

I didn't play, but the mission map will be interesting, too.

Have you seen another WWPA's map? WWPA thinks the current build is enough. I think there are no more updates WWPA. The last main update of Korean WWPA will be June 8, 2004.
