I need some help..

I exctracted all my replays as 1280x768 reso. This seems to bit too high as my movie editing programs dont comply with it, lags and stuff.. if I switch it to 800x600, all goes smooth.

Is there any tricks to this or my pc just sucks?

I use VirtualDub and Vegas but I'm a noob

Impossible

vegas is the best program for making worms movie and virtualdub best for compilation, which one lagging? and what version of vegas you have?

Vegas 10 is lagging, no problems if I use 800x600 resolution though, but I already exctracted all my replays to 1280x768 :S

As far as i know, it is a good idea, to have WA and your video capturing program on one harddisk, and your save destination on another, as the harddisk then doesn't have to access both things at the same time (which could lead to lags). Try to use an external harddisk for example as the destination for your captured video.

I recommend Sony Vegas Pro 9.0
rendering its all about your RAM tho, 2 gb is ok to render 1280x768, Im using 16gb for example. :P

Okay thanks.

Is it better to first compile the .png to avi and then edit in vegas, or just add all the png on vegas timeline? :S

I got good ram, atleast 2 and good pc but meh.

If you're just looking to convert to an avi file or mp4 to stick on youtube.  I always use Worms Recorder now.

Supports audio as well and it's really quick and easy.  No need to use a video editor.

dont even try to add every png to vegas! :D
Use fraps!
making png frames and then vid from its like drawing map on paint pixel by pixel, you are 100% sure there is no not needed colors, and map bugs, but it takes 10x more time than photoshop. Same here, you can make all fast with fraps and result will be almost the same

Impossible.  Don't tell people to use Fraps.  It's really shit advice man.

Plus you can import frames into vegas or premiere pro all in one go.  No need to do them individually as you are implying.  Then you are ensuring the absolute best quality and the easiest and most processor friendly way to edit.

I made my last few movies using pngs and it was literally the best way possible.  No raw data or big files to worry about.

But if people are just wanting to put them on youtube then use the WA recorder because it can turn a replay into an avi with sound in literally 2 minutes from start to finish.
