hello there, i'd like to introduce myself. i am lars from germany and after i got the steam version of w:a yesterday i really want to play this game online again. personally i prefer worms world party, but armageddon is practically the same online. i started with worms 2 as a kid in the 90's (i guess it was 1997 or something like that), and mostly played w:a and wwp then. i bought worms clan wars, but hmm, it just hasnt the same feeling like the old ones, and i think w:a and wwp are pretty good and *complete* games.

i would say i am a quiet good worms player! i am not that good with the bazooka or grenades, but technically if there is a way i will find it, especially with ropes, jetpack, baseballbats and shotguns. i remember that the two different play styles are called light- and darksiders, however, i like to keep 1 or 2 worms save and atacking from safe positions while being offensive with the rest of the team, but in the end it all depends on the map and weapons.

so for now i just played some missions, i would say i am only at 20& of my old skill, but i would like to play online with one of you guys as soon as possible. if i get my ass kicked i might will practice for a couple of weeks ;-)

so, would be great if some of you can introduce me to the site, maybe telling me the most important things i need to know. anyway, im looking forward to an invitation for a game!

have a nice day!

Welcome to TUS!
I'm Kaleu, TUS translator to Portuguese.

If you want to play competitively, learn new moves, share your worms related stuff, you are in the right place!
I suggest you to watch the league recent games, so you will learn how each scheme of the classic league is played, we have 2 main leagues, the Free League and the Classic League, the Classic is the most played tho, but before playing any league game take some time to read the league rules.
Players also host public cups, tourneys and miscellaneous challenges, you are welcome to take part in any of them.
TUS also has a clan and community system, the clans basically play against themselves for league points.. You will learn it, its just about time..
If you are not a fan at all, you can still be a regular forum member like many others while playing for fun.  :)

Welcome man.

You should read scheme rules and download also the schemes.

People are usually in "anything goes"-channel. There is also a sort of "skype-messanger" for worms to check who is online etc without the need of having open the game.
For example:

Hey there,
You seem to be interested in ground style of the play. Id suggest you to focus on Intermediate scheme more than anything else, its just a tough task here on this site as its not being promoted enough, but there is an alternative league/community at http://www.normalnonoobs.com/

There is also an upcoming tourney with most of this scheme specialists fighting for champion title. Some games will be streamed via twitch, so if i was you id follow it whenever its up or download replays to get a glimpse of how competitive it is. Check http://cwtsite.com/

ok thank you all for the information, i will go through the suggested links and sources!

i think its the right thing to start playing for fun, maybe i check out the normalnonoobs community. i was playing pro evolution soccer 6 on evo-league.com for a couple of years, i was not really one of the top 10 players, but ive beat them all and i can imagine how competitive it will be HERE. i can imagine that it will be hard against ANY player here!

so, after ive read all the important rules about shemes etc, i will watch some games. and yes, for several reasons i will practice alone first to become as good as i was!

On a side note, theres an IRC channel with quite a few people that might be up for a game or 2, me included, more info here http://worms2d.info/Worms_on_GameSurge

many schemes here, especially roping schemes take more than 2 years to be at top level, even in the top 20, but it's funny :)

hey Lars do you remember a clan called wP or LoR on WWP?

I would say that the people you are talking about simply perceive reality in a less serious way. There is no need to categorize people, nor to force oneself to integrate with them. Anyway, feel welcome  :)

Triad

I'm Triad, leader of UC. If you see my nick in WormNET, mostly as UC`Triad`dS or `UC-Triad-dS`,  feel free to pm me and ask anything. I'll try my best to help you. :)
