Worms Armageddon has a glitch in the sound in wine on debian

when I play worms it sounds as if there is sand or something like that being leaking from a sack, specially when there some fine pitch sounds made by for example the dynamite as it progresses. Hopefully someone knows.

Maybe because it was written for windows (98?)?

It doesn't happen on windows 7 or 8 I'm sure it can work on wine. I have wine set for windows 7 for WA.

Its fine on Arch but I suppose that's all null and void regarding you use completely different Wine / library versions.

Debian appears to have some odd issues when it comes to WA it seems... are you using Jessie? My brother cannot even run the game through his Debian installation and he has tried a vast array of solutions to try and fix it.

I followed the guide on worms2d about installing WA on linux almost to perfection - except I didn't read much about the bugs logs... and yes I'm using jessie with gnome.

Some DE 'could' have different pre-set configs such as with PulseAudio. For example with KDE I never had Pulse working properly and ended up just using ALSA. Though ever since I have switched to Openbox PulseAudio has yet to fault me.
