Description:
The Long Desired Intermediate Cup

Heya people, it's been a while since the last Intermediate Cup, I thought now is the time for another. Everybody is free to participate regardless of skill level, clan, gender or race. The only requirement is that you are willing to play your games in given time.

Rules and Schemes

- Rules concerning glitches and map choice are same as the ONL rules and the ONL scheme is the only valid scheme.
- Games in the group stage are best of 3, best of 5 during play offs and best of 7 in the final.
- in case there will be people with same amount of points in a (finished) group the won/lost rounds will be considered. Won rounds minus lost rounds equals the difference. The player with the higher difference proceeds. If the difference is the same a tiebreaker will be played.

Deadlines

The deadline for group stage is set for July 17th 23:59 GMT. It is not possible to postpone a game beyond the deadline no matter how important your reason seems to be. Be smart and play your games right away.

Use this forum to arrange your games to enable a smooth monitoring and easier decision making if a walk over has take place.

12 CEST (current Polisch time) is 10GMT.

Depending on how you define "sunday night", Fonseca, it might be too late.  :P

Yeah, zoky, your case is really a tough one. Theoretically if DxL plays and loses both games 2-0 you'd indeed come through. On the other hand if I have to disqualify him due to inactivity, then, some might disagree with me, but I will have to reverse the result of his game with Cinek to Cineks advantage as well. This would make Cinek second. It's very hard to make the "right" decision.
I know it's harder than it sounds but I have to ask him you to grab him by the balls and get your games played with him. And then, even if he doesn't play Joschi, I will compare your and Cinek's scores. However if you can't find him I have to suggest you to take part at the wild card tourney on Monday even though it's probably not your fault.  :(

Speaking of devil, the wild card tournament will start at 17 GMT.

All players with one or less game played till Monday 00:00 GMT are not welcome to take part at the next cup I am going to host. Whatever scheme it will be. (With few exceptions I will announce on Monday)

Zoky, I am perfectly aware of what I have to count and you are not entirely right with your calculation. It depends on how you and Joschi beat DxL. Look here:

1. If you and Joschi both beat DxL 2-1, then DxL is second because he will have one more round won than you.

2. If you beat DxL 2-1 and Joschi beats him 2-0 then you are equal and both second, means you have to play a tiebreaker.

3. If you beat DxL 2-0 and Joschi beats him 2-0 or 2-1, only then you are guaranteed the 2nd place.

or 4. You beat DxL with any result and DxL doesn't play with Joschi at all. Your score will be compared to Cinek's and it looks pretty good for you then.

See, you have to look at every perspective.

in any sport,if u have same number of points, and goals,or rounds in this case then u lookwho h8ave win in their game...nvm i just wana play and take my chances..this is realy lame by dxl side...he has sing in and now he dont play

Any sport has predefined rules how they handle situations like this and the rules are not always the identical. So does this cup and the main post says:
Quote
in case there will be people with same amount of points in a (finished) group the won/lost rounds will be considered. Won rounds minus lost rounds equals the difference. The player with the higher difference proceeds. If the difference is the same a tiebreaker will be played.
:)

I agree DxL's behaviour is very unsportsmanlike. Hopefully you can get to play with him, if not he'll be banned in my next cup.
