SPW! You're on-line ... let's play :)

SPW

Not always, when I'm online, I can play a bo5 series ;)

And anyway, we do have some time, deadline for semifinals not even started yet. So let me train in the mean time a bit more that funny scheme  :D

MonkeyIsland

Good job people! Another 5 days for the next round. :)
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

Pr said about our game with Rafka: "lol, 5 rounds SD, next time use TNL scheme".

Exactly!

Lol, Pr! In fact, i don't like what is going on, in stead of nice tactics, nice moves people just wait for SD using Skunks, Girders and Petrols, some of them even call this hard, lol. To seperate two worms further from each other, oh cmon. In such situations i would use TNL scheme actually, and next time i will do. Should warn Koras about that.

Lol, i play not too often lately. But last 2-3 gamesi played was about boring end (just boring, not interesting, just lame tries to win). But okay, it is in the rules, i agree, it is also can be rational. Just one question: Lol, i played only 3 games and got bored already, but you, guys, play EVERY day like that. How do you manage to continue?

To Koras: friend i respect you too much to let you win me by luck. Only by your great skill and mastership (which you got enough!)

Antares

I know we have some time, SPW. But i rather play it before deadline and not be stressed by it.
Anyway, you'll find me in AG these days if you considered you trained enough. :)

Are U trying to say,U prefer this modified schemme made by someone who doesnt played intermedaite at all?  :'(
if U are so pro you can kill your enemy before SD  :) i didnt saw all yours 5 sd rounds vs Rafka but I quess U played boring too....
I played vs Rafka a loots of games, in fact he is not very agressive player so we finish after SD very often too.But if I play very well I win before thus 'f@#!ing' sd ...
Anyway np I dont need SD to win, we can play TNL if U want.

if you are so pro you can kill your opponent without playing a game, but sadly you are not chuck norris

Johnmir

Even if i played boring it was cause i played 4th or 5th game this month. Just no shape for creative moves. Not cause i sit for 40 seconds and watching the clock every turn.

I don't care who made this scheme! If i consider it well balanced - it is nice, even if 5 years old kid made it. Btw, i don't say NNN-luckless is bad, i just an answer your words.

Lol. If we talk serious: consider the way of playing - waiting for SD. It is exactly the same as dud mines. You can predict, mine doesn't work. At  the same time you can predict SD happenes on your turn, or your opponent's turn, it is just random, so the situation is close to dud mines. Why we turned dud mines off, but doesn't turn SD off. It is pretty logical. If you don't agree, motivate your answer.

pr

I guess he can't motivate his answer since he has arguments like
"who doesnt played intermedaite at all?"
It sounds like the argument:
"Koras, you were working for the Queen and you english is sitll so fra form idael liek taht!
Hwo colud yuo jujde?"

The thing is that nobody can predict SD for 100% sure.
Even if there will be a guy with a stopwatch. Even if the SD timer is 00:00 after the turn there is no possibility for it to say, yeah, it's next turn 1000% sure.

The endless SD vs non SD discussion :P

Aren't there enough topics dedicated for that? I know we have at least two in our forum.
I don't agree with you John in the case of dud mines analogy. As you know, i started to change my playing style to a more aggressive play, just for the fun of it. But i used to built my whole strategy around SD: like deciding from the first move if a game will reach SD or not and adjusting my resources accordingly.
It is indeed like the river card in a texas hold'em poker ;) So you have to react properly and it is the ''card'' that changes all, so there is another variable you must take into account. It means that it will make the game even more complex that it already is ... which explains why also other players like Dario or Mablak think that it is indeed part of strategy and advanced planning techniques.

senseless post without any arguments for SD version.

It sounds like there is a crate with 1000 health which falls at the SD time and we need to stand this luck factor just for fun.

Antares

Senseless quotation of previous post :P

If you've read my post (or maybe you did but didn't understood) you would have noticed i mentioned something about adapting to a changing situation and building a whole strategy along that ... some real life similarities ... which reminds me to ask you: what you do for a living? what profession you have? so i can draw a few conclusion just for myself. Thanks!

Btw: it seems that Dario, Mablak, myself and others were wrong about SD ... my apologies ;)

pr

Building strategy around the luck factor is a very good point.
Why do u always quote mablak and dario? Do you have your own opinion?
Life and worms scheme are not comparable. I think you all just got used to that scheme and don't want to change your mood just cuz Dario told that.

Antares

It's my opinion long before i met players like Daz, Mab and many others i didn't named just to keep the list short. But unlike others i don't think i hold the supreme truth... and there was no quote, like i said ... just mentioned few (which are probably in top 3 players all time).

And Dario didn't told anyone anything, he is inactive since quite a while so just leave him out of this. He is not clan leader nor authority so the opinions and similarities between me (others) and him are from way back (probably more than 5 years). Can't stand when someone is bringing Daz in discussion and others start to question the reason he is brought up in just because of frustration or other reason. (not your case though).

And besides, SD isn't a luck factor for me. It's just part of the context, and the wormer who is better prepared and can play in tight situation (like knowing if you will miss it's gg) wins. Plain and simple.

I repeat, everyone is entitled to personal opinion so don't try to impose yours as supreme truth. I respect yours and John's view on this so try to do the same. Thanks!
