yeah it's a worms knowledge base article about wkIndiMask it has better explanation, but in simplicity: every colour has a red, green and blue value each ranging from 0-255, if the red value is an even number it means that pixel can be destroyed, if the red value is an odd number, that pixel can't be destroyed

and if red and green are both odd, the pixel is tough - it can be destroyed only by weapons that destroy background soil (cows, dyna, holy, etc.)
