I could probably deny you cs in LoL even if you choose to jungle. You just deny in a different more complex way than last hitting your own minions. You zone, trade when he goes for the kill. It's more of a guess and mind game than it is a mechanical game in that respect.
Not having a courier doesn't make the game worse, I don't understand the reasoning, it'd be like saying Elite is not as challenging as Intermediate because it doesn't have worm selects. It changes the gameplay, doesn't mean it makes it worse or easier. You need to know when to push, guess when your lane opponent could be going back so you can tower deny him exp.

Why would a reference to the game that inspired you be a bad thing? It happens all the time.
