No, if the GPU failed, you wouldn't see the XP logo.
Try raping F8 while the PC is turning on and select "safe mode" option. If it turns on, well.... you've got a software problem, but there's still the laptop screen issue...

Well,somehow safe mode managed to make a link between those. One friend is looking at it now.Hopefully some good news will occur

Try to boot up again and when you see the white screen press ''fn+f4'' it should reset the display configuration.
Otherwise this may be a drivers related issue that can be fixed with full format.
If it does not work, hit F2 during boot and if screen does not display, it is hardware related issue.
Also, make sure the power cord is connected for maximum power.

Check what is your monitor's native resolution and set it in Win after entering Safe Mode then reboot, this should do the trick.

Sutuation update: it might be busted more than expected.One theory would be that it is virused.I guess I will need to go to a place where some professionals can give me a clear verdict as I do not know what to do anymore.

actually reinstalling windows might not be such a bad idea. You can do it by burning a Windows 7 image to an USB stick, and if you want to do it, I can write you simple instructions how to do it yourself, since it's relatively easy, but if you really wanna make sure it's not hardware, you gotta do a clean install (lose all the files).
If that shows to be a bad idea, maybe those two are right, not sure how old the laptop is, if it's worth fixing, depending on what has gone wrong in it.

The next idea might be reinstalling the Windows indeed.
I am not opting for a clean install as there is like 2-3 years worth of data which I do not want to lose xD.Ofc,if it is necessary I will have to do it.My plan for now is trying to backup all my data somewhere safe

Ok ,we managed to find someone that could check the PC and the most possible idea is that a specific cable is not working. We will go to a service soon enough and let's hope it will end well

won't paying for someone to look at it cost more than the value of your old notebook? or maybe I'm just being american. when something breaks here we just buy a new one.
