Listened mostly to lengthy black metal pieces on vacation. Peste Noire's 'Phàlenes et Pestilence' was my fav.. crude and messed up, but there's so many good riffs in there, it's awesome  :D

Came across a new project yesterday, a collaboration between Sturmpercht, Nebelkorona and a few others: Dânnâgôischd (and the album is called 'Emm dichdâ Ondrholz'). Richtig geile waldmusik  8)

I love the darker stuff Sturmpercht has made as well.. the next is based on a poem by Annette von Droste-Hülshoff called 'Die ächzende Kreatur'

Des Blutes Nebelflore her.

Da ward ihr klar, wie nicht allein
Der Gottesfluch im Menschenbild,
Wie er in schwerer, dumpfer Pein
Im bangen Wurm, im scheuen Wild,
Im durst´gen Halme auf der Flur,
Der mit vergilbten Blättern lechzt,
In aller, aller Kreatur
Gen Himmel um Erlösung ächzt.

Wie mit dem Fluche, den erwarb
Der Erde Fürst im Paradies,
Er sein gesegnet Reich verdarb
Und seine Diener büßen ließ,
Wie durch die reinen Adern trieb
Er Tod und Noder, Pein und Zorn,
Und wie die Schuld allein ihm blieb
Und des Gewissens scharger Dorn.

Das ist die Schuld des Mordes an
Der Erde Lieblichkeit und Huld,
An des Getieres dumpfen Bann
Ist es die tiefe, schwere Schuld,
Und an dem Grimm, der es beseelt,
Und an der List, die es befleckt,
Und an dem Schmerze, der es quält,
Und an dem Moder, der es deckt.

I love musical renditions of famous poems like that.. Omnia made a great one too of Poe's 'The Raven':

Rok

I've recently discovered this guy. If anyone's into extraordinary Zappa-like rock, check it out. Some stuff is pretty weird, but I love it :)

Some new discoveries:

If you like Yann Tiersen's soundtrack for Amelie, you will certainly like this song by Nyctalgia. The part after 1:30 sounds a whole lot like Comptine d'un autre éte, but the thunder & lightning-sounds in the background and the more intimate character of the song make it IMO even better (!).

""Immaculada" was written in a period I was travelling back and forth between Ireland and Greece. The album documents personal experiences of that time, set to introspective and reflective ballads."

And a little bit more frightening:

Not a big fan of slow doom-ish metal, but with enough bombastic orchestral pieces it's quite alright :)

I could also post a shit load of nice music vids but I can imagine everyone could. So I found this one today and like I see most of you guys are more into metal and rock but maybe you'll like kinda stuff, too.
