I am a movie junkie, with favorites going back to the 60's, but my favorite overall:

Amélie

It has a fantastic score, the cinematography and use of color is perfect, the story is cute and awkward and uplifting, the main character (Tautou) is a babe, it has a wonderful, happy ending that will make you feel good, etc.

I can think of tons of great films, but this one takes the cake.

I also love films by directors such as David Lynch, Roman Pulanski, Gregg Araki, Woody Allen, Gaspar Noe, Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Tim Burton, John Hughes, Luc Besson, Andrei Tarkovsky, James Cameron, etc.

Good flick, but not even close to my favorite. The sequel should be interesting.

4) Hitchcock movies.
everything by david lynch, but mostly inland empire and lost highway

Yes and yes. Wormers have some good taste in movies. My 10 favourites:

1. The Birds
2. Mulholland Dr.
3. Pulp Fiction
4. Milk & Money (1996)
5. Kill Bill (either Vol. 1 or both together)
6. Bad Taste
7. Frenzy
8. Sin City
9. Fight Club
10. Hannibal

I've been working through a list of over 100 movies I want to see. The best I've seen lately is Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.
