Install problem on laptop, help please!
« on: February 03, 2015, 01:42 AM »
I am trying to install WA on my laptop and it doesn't work:

I mount the image with PowerISO (this is an image I made with an original disc years ago).

I run the autoinstall.

The install screen pops up:

It pauses here for about 30 seconds, then just instantly goes back to desktop and nothing else happens.

I check task manager and "setup.exe *32" is still running, i've tried waiting like 10 minutes to see if anything happened, so I have to end process since nothing is happening.

My laptop specs are as follows:

Processor - Interl(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz
RAM - 8.00 GB (7.73 GB usable)
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M

The funny thing is, I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my PC with another GTX graphics card, it runs fine, don't know why this fails to respond...

Instead of running setup.exe (which uses a small 16-bit InstallShield wrapper), go into the "Install" directory and run Install.exe instead.
Dec 30 2013 23:59:44 <StepS> windowed mode isn't the only thing you need about frontend
Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it

No, i've already tried that, and you already advised someone to try this before here and it didn't work.

When I use "Install.exe" it does the exact same thing, except this time, the "preparing to install" image doesn't even show up, but like before, in task manager it shows "setup.exe *32*" as running.

Maybe it won't help but I suggest you to try this Automatic Installer: http://worms2d.info/Automatic_Installer

Many people have solved their problem with this, you just need to mount the .iso of the game, run unwait.exe and then write where do you want to install the game (for example "C").

Obviously at the end you will need to install the latest update since the automatic installer goes back to 2006.
